Coulsdon East was a ward in the London Borough of Croydon, covering part of the Coulsdon area of London in the United Kingdom. The ward formed part of Chris Philp MP's Croydon South constituency. At the 2011 Census the population of the Ward was 12,244.The ward returned three councillors every four years to Croydon Council. At the 2006 Croydon Council election, Terry Lenton, Brian Udell and Chris Wright were elected to the council. All stood as Conservative Party candidates. In Coulsdon East in 2006, the Labour Party did not field any candidates. The local election marked the highest turnout (57.2%) in the London Borough elections in 2006. At the 2010 local elections the ward was retained by the Conservatives. The 2010 election coincided with the General election which had the effect of improving turnout amongst voters. Turnout climbed to 73.5%. The successful Conservative candidates were Justin Cromie, Terry Lenton and Chris Wright. The Conservative share of the vote fell from 63.2% to 48.6% with the Liberal Democrats' share of the vote falling to 26.9%. The Labour party polled 9.9%, their lowest share in Borough of Croydon wards in the 2010 election.

The ward currently forms part of Chris Philp MP's Croydon South constituency. At the 2011 Census the population of the former Coulsdon East Ward was 12,244.The ward returns two councillors every four years to Croydon Council. The ward was formed from part of the former Coulsdon East ward, following a boundary review in Croydon, ahead of the 2018 election.

Dollypers Hill is a 12-hectare (30-acre) nature reserve south east of Coulsdon in the London Borough of Croydon. It is managed by the Surrey Wildlife Trust.This urban site has ancient woodland, chalk grassland and scrub. Grassland flowering plants include grass vetchling, eyebright, kidney vetch, bird's-foot trefoil, wood anemone, quaking grass and bluebell.There is access from Old Lodge Lane and Caterham Drive.

Old Coulsdon is a village near Coulsdon in the London Borough of Croydon, England, 14.4 miles (23 km) south of Charing Cross. It is the southernmost settlement in Greater London.

Happy Valley Park is a public park in Coulsdon in the London Borough of Croydon. It is owned and managed by Croydon Council. Located in the Green Belt, most of it forms part of the Farthing Downs and Happy Valley Site of Special Scientific Interest. The 67-hectare (170-acre) site is a steeply sided valley with large areas of grassland and wooded slopes. The diverse chalk grasslands on the eastern and north-western sides are rich in many species of herb which are uncommon in London, and the nationally scarce man orchid and round-headed rampion have also been recorded. Devilsden Wood on the western side has a canopy of ash, oak and hazel. Trees such as midland hawthorn and plants such as sweet woodruff are characteristic of ancient woodlands.

Oasis Academy Coulsdon, formerly known as Coulsdon High School, is a school in the London Borough of Croydon, England. It is between the area of Coulsdon and Caterham. It is an academy run by the Christian charity Oasis Trust. The conversion to an academy in 2008 attracted a £20 million investment over five years by the government, via the Oasis Trust.

Coulsdon and Purley Urban District was a local government district in northeast Surrey from 1915 to 1965. The local authority was Coulsdon and Purley Urban District Council. The former area of the district is now mostly part of the London Borough of Croydon in Greater London, with parts in the Tandridge District and the Borough of Reigate and Banstead in Surrey.

Farthing Downs is an open space in Coulsdon in the London Borough of Croydon. Together with Eight Acres Common and New Hill to the south-east, it is owned and managed by the Corporation of London. Farthing Downs and Eight Acres Common are part of the Farthing Downs and Happy Valley Site of Special Scientific Interest. Happy Valley Park is a green space to the south owned by Croydon Council. Farthing Downs is also a scheduled monument. Farthing Downs is a long strip of grassland with pockets of ancient woodland, which narrows to a point at the northern end. It is the most extensive area of semi-natural downland left in Greater London. Its chalk and natural grasslands have a large variety of rare herbs, including some which are nationally scarce, such as the wildflower greater yellow-rattle. This is specially protected by legislation and Farthing Downs and Happy Valley have the major part of the British population.

Coulsdon South railway station serves Coulsdon in the London Borough of Croydon, and is in Travelcard Zone 6, on the Brighton Main Line. It is 17 miles 3 chains (27.42 km) measured from London Charing Cross. The station is served by Southern and by Thameslink. It is the most southerly mainline station in London.

The Church of Saints Peter and Paul at Chaldon, Surrey, is a Church of England parish church in the Diocese of Southwark. The building was begun before 1086 and is Grade I listed. It is notable for containing a large mural dating from around 1170, depicting images of the Last Judgement and purgatory.

Coulsdon Town railway station serves the northern part of Coulsdon, in the London Borough of Croydon. It is on the Tattenham Corner line 16 miles 46 chains (26.7 km) from Charing Cross and opened on 1 January 1904. Until 22 May 2011 it was called Smitham.
