Anderston railway station

The Cheapside Street whisky bond fire in Glasgow on 28 March 1960 was Britain's worst peacetime fire services disaster. The fire at a whisky bond killed 14 fire service and 5 salvage corps personnel. This fire was overshadowed only by a similar fire in James Watt Street (also in Glasgow) on 19 November 1968, when 22 people died.

The Argyle Building is a mid-rise residential skyscraper in the Anderston district within the centre of Glasgow, Scotland. Started in 2005 and completed in 2008, it is among the highest buildings currently standing within the city's central area and occupies a prominent spot next to the Kingston Bridge and the M8 motorway. It can be seen prominently in the background of BBC Scotland television news bulletins.

Elphinstone Place is a cancelled skyscraper project that was scheduled to be built in Glasgow, Scotland. The building, which had been in the planning stage since 2004 would have been a mixed-use development consisting of office, retail and residential. It was to be built on the site of the former Strathclyde Regional Council Headquarters. In July 2008 The developers Elphinstone announced that the building had been cancelled due to the difficulties arising from the subprime mortgage crisis, with one of the main financial backers of the project being the failed Lehman Brothers. Although ground work had been completed for the tower it was indicated by the developer that a "fall-back project is not in place" for the site. At 39-stories the structure would have been the tallest building in both Glasgow and Scotland. The building would have been situated at the western end of Blythswood Hill on the edge of Glasgow's financial district (IFSD). In July 2012, it was announced that the site would instead be used for a new headquarters complex for the energy company, Scottish Power; that project, of more modest height (albeit still around 60 metres) was completed in 2017.

The Anderston Centre (originally styled as the Anderston Cross Commercial Centre, but now officially branded as Cadogan Square) is a mixed-use commercial and residential complex, and former bus station located in the Anderston area of Glasgow, Scotland. Completed in 1972 and designed by Richard Seifert (best known for London's famous Centre Point and NatWest Tower), it is one of the earliest examples of the "megastructure" style of urban renewal scheme fashionable in the 1950s and 1960s - the other notable example in Scotland being the infamous Cumbernauld Town Centre development. The complex is a notable landmark on the western edge of Glasgow city centre, and is highly visible from the adjacent Kingston Bridge. The complex was voted at Position No. 54 in the Prospect magazine's 100 best modern Scottish buildings. After falling into partial dereliction in the 1990s, the megastructure has undergone major redevelopment with some elements demolished and replaced, and others comprehensively refurbished.

Portcullis House is a proposed 35-storey skyscraper in Glasgow, Scotland. The development was formally submitted to Glasgow City Council in 2021 by Watkin Jones Group, with the original proposals seeking to construct a 33-storey "co-living" development in Glasgow City Centre. New plans submitted in 2023 saw the removal of one of the original proposed towers, and the reduction in size to a 30-storey tower. In December 2023, an updated plan was submitted, proposing a 35-storey building rising to 114m above ground level.Upon completion, Portcullis House would become the tallest habitable building in Scotland.

Nye Bevan House, was a large office development on the corner of Elmbank Crescent and India Street in Glasgow, Scotland. It formed part of the complex of buildings known as Strathclyde House which collectively served as the offices and meeting place of Strathclyde Regional Council until it was abolished in 1996.

Central Quay (Scottish Gaelic: Cidhe Mheadhain) is a mixed use development at 89 Hydepark Street, Glasgow, Scotland. Consisting of four buildings, the tallest structure, Block H2, is one of the tallest buildings in Glasgow, standing at 58m tall and consisting 20 storeys.

The Kingston Bridge is a balanced cantilever dual-span ten lane road bridge made of triple-cell segmented prestressed concrete box girders crossing the River Clyde in Glasgow, Scotland. Carrying the M8 motorway through the city centre, the Kingston Bridge is one of the busiest bridges in Europe, carrying around 150,000 vehicles every day.

Charing Cross (Glasgow) is a railway station close to the centre of Glasgow, Scotland, serving the district of the same name. It is managed by ScotRail and is served by trains on the North Clyde Line.

The Charing Cross Complex - now styled as Elmbank Gardens (but sometimes popularly referred to as the Charing Cross Tower), is a multi-use commercial complex in the Charing Cross area of Glasgow, Scotland. Best known for its signature 14-storey tower which overlooks the M8 motorway and stands directly opposite the Mitchell Library, it was designed by Richard Seifert and constructed between 1969 and 1973. It is one of the tallest and most prominent high rise buildings on the western side of Glasgow city centre, beyond Blythswood Hill. The surface buildings of the subterranean railway station which serves Charing Cross are also an integral part of the complex. Since 1995, the tower element has been used as a hotel, whilst the remainder of the complex is home to offices and a number of other leisure and entertainment businesses.

The Pyramid at Anderston is a community-owned centre for the people of Anderston in Glasgow, which uses the building of the former Anderston Kelvingrove Parish Church.
