Center for Technology in Government is a research institution in University at Albany in Albany, New York, focusing on the development of innovative solutions to help government better provide public services through technology. Through applied research and partnerships (e.g. with the Major Cities of Europe IT Users Group), projects are undertaken that address the policy, management, and technology dimensions of information use in the public sector.

John Wolf Kemp House was a historic home located at Colonie in Albany County, New York. It was built about 1780 and was a 2-story, L-shaped frame farmhouse with a gable roof and five bays wide. It had a 1+1⁄2-story rear ell. It featured a 1-story hip-roofed enclosed porch over the three central bays. The entrance and side parlors have Federal-style details. Also on the property were a contributing privy and summer kitchen. The house was demolished in May 2003.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985.

St. Francis Chapel was a Catholic Franciscan chapel, sponsored by the Holy Name Province of the Order Friars Minor. It began in the Northway Mall in Colonie, New York, United States on December 28, 1970. Its final location was at Wolf Road Shopper's Park at 145 Wolf Road in Colonie. According to the St. Francis Chapel Mission Statement, its purpose was to continue the tradition of St. Francis of Assisi who preached in the marketplace.Although the chapel was physically within the boundaries of the Catholic Diocese of Albany, this chapel was not a parish and was not a diocesan church. The friars who served at the chapel resided at St. Bernardine of Siena Friary at Siena College. The final director of St. Francis Chapel was Father Michael Tyson, OFM.

The Crossings Park is located in the Town of Colonie, New York, outside of Albany. Crossings Park is a 130-acre public park to which tourists come to visit every day. The park has bike and running paths that stretch and connect up to 6.5 total miles, as well as a 3-acre pond located in the center. The park holds festivals and farmers' markets that attract people from all across New York. The park maintains a big gazebo that overlooks the pond, a play park for children of all ages, a medium-sized maze, and the Rudy A. Ciccotti Center. The park is open from sunup to sundown. The Crossings Park is closed on Thanksgiving, Black Friday, Christmas Eve, Christmas, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day.

Colonie Central High School is a public high school in the town of Colonie, with the postal address of Albany, New York. In 2005 it had 2225 students and 132 classroom teachers. It is part of the South Colonie Central School District. The building principal is Christopher Robilotti.

The New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT) is the department of the New York state government responsible for the development and operation of highways, railroads, mass transit systems, ports, waterways and aviation facilities in the U.S. state of New York. Stewart is currently leased to the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey.Its regulations are compiled in title 17 of the New York Codes, Rules and Regulations.

Colonie Center is a shopping mall located in Roessleville, New York, a suburb of Albany, at the intersection of Central Avenue, Wolf Road, and Interstate 87. Opening in 1966, it was the first enclosed shopping mall in New York's Capital Region. The two-story mall has an area of about 1,300,000 square feet (120,000 m2) and 110 stores as well as a food court. Colonie Center was owned by Feldman Mall Properties until 2009, when it was sold to Heitman Value Partners. In April 2013, Heitman sold the mall to KKR & Co. L.P., partnered with Colonie Pacific. The mall anchors are Boscov's, Christmas Tree Shops, Macy's, Regal Cinemas, and Whole Foods Market. Another previous anchor included Steinbach. The L.L. Bean store in Colonie Center is the second busiest L.L. Bean store in the country, generating $12.4 million in annual sales. Outside of New York City, the Macy's store in Colonie Center is the highest revenue-producing Macy's store in the region with an annual revenue of $50 million. The Whole Foods Market generates $24.6 million in annual revenue. The mall is located near the busiest intersection in the capitol region.In 2015, Sears Holdings spun off 235 of its properties, including the Sears at Colonie Center, into Seritage Growth Properties. Portions of the former auto center became BJ's Restaurants and Ethan Allen. On October 5, 2020, Cineworld announced it would close all Regal, Cineworld, and Picturehouse Cinemas locations in the US, UK, and Ireland indefinitely, beginning October 8.

Christian Brothers Academy is a private, Catholic, college preparatory, junior and senior high school for boys founded in 1859 by the De La Salle Christian Brothers (see Institute of the Brothers of the Christian Schools). Christian Brothers Academy is located in the town of Colonie, New York near the Albany International Airport on a 126-acre (0.51 km2) campus built in 1998. Christian Brothers Academy is independently run by a board of trustees. The school is known for its academic and athletic programs, and has had a 100% college acceptance rate since 1980. The school's athletic program also boasts numerous athletic titles. Christian Brothers Academy educates 556 students in grades 5-12 from 49 different school districts throughout the Capital Region.

Casparus F. Pruyn House is a historic home located in the hamlet of Newtonville within the town of Colonie in Albany County, New York. It is a two-story, rectangular five bay wide, center entrance dwelling in a late Federal and early Greek Revival style. It was built between 1824 and 1836. Pruyn was rent collection agent for Stephen Van Rensselaer and, after Stephen's death, William Van Rensselaer who had inherited the "East Manor" in Rensselaer County. From 1839 to 1844 Pruyn resided at the Patroon Agent's House and Office at Rensselaer and was a central figure in the Anti-Rent War at Rensselaerswyck. Also on the property are a contributing carriage house, privy, and smoke house. It is open to the public as the historical and cultural arts center for the Town of Colonie. The Verdoy Schoolhouse was moved to the grounds in 1996. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985.

Heritage Park was a stadium in Colonie, New York, USA. It was primarily used for baseball but was also used for high school and college football games. It had a capacity of 5,500.

Watervliet Shaker Historic District, in Colonie, New York, is the site of the first Shaker community. It was established in 1776. The primary Shaker community, the Mount Lebanon Shaker Society, was started a bit later. Watervliet's historic 1848 Shaker meetinghouse has been restored and is used for public events, such as concerts. The founder of the Shakers, Mother Ann Lee, is buried here.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1973, and the listing was expanded later in the same year. Albany International Airport was constructed on the community's herb garden. At the time it was founded it was located in the Town of Watervliet, which went out of existence in 1896. Since then it has been in the Town of Colonie, not even close to the boundary of the modern City of Watervliet.

Central Avenue, in Albany, New York, is an 11-mile (5 km) stretch in Albany County, of the 16-mile Albany-Schenectady Turnpike, which runs from Lark Street in the city of Albany, westward through the towns of Colonie, New York and Niskayuna, New York, to the city of Schenectady, New York. In the city of Albany it is called Central Avenue, in Colonie it is known as Central Avenue or Albany Schenectady Road, and in Schenectady County (Niskayuna and Schenectady) it is called State Street. The entire route is also called Route 5.
