Skjoldhøjkilen is a recreational and natural site, in the district of Brabrand in the western part of Aarhus in Denmark. It stretches westwards from Hasle Hills, like a wavy green strip of meadows, small lakes and woodlands. It is 3.5 km long and just as Hasle Hills, it is administered by the self-governing institution 'Hasle Bakker'.

Hårup is a town in Aarhus Municipality, Central Denmark Region in Denmark with a population of 884 (1 January 2023). Hårup is situated north of the city of Aarhus between the towns Todbjerg and Mejlby in Todbjerg Parish close to Trige og Ølsted.

The Aarhus Runestones or Ålum Runestones are six Viking Age runestones which were discovered in and around the city of Aarhus, Denmark. The stones are officially titled Aarhus 1 through 6 and they are all memorial stones created in memory or honor of a person. All six stones are kept and displayed at Moesgård Museum and one of the stones is known as the Aarhus Stone or Mask Stone and features the carving of a mask which has become the official symbol of Moesgård Museum.

Mejlby is a town in Aarhus Municipality, Central Denmark Region in Denmark with a population of 394 (1 January 2023). Mejlby is situated the northern section of Aarhus Municipality, 20 kilometers from the city of Aarhus. The closest towns are Hårup, one kilometer to the south, Lystrup five kilometers to the south and Spørring three kilometers to the west. E45 passes by six kilometers to the west of the town.

Hasle Hills (Danish: Hasle Bakker) is a landscape and recreational area of 15.5 hectares (38 acres) in Aarhus, Denmark. It is located in the borderland between Hasle and the neighbourhood of Gellerup in the district of Aarhus V in the western parts of the city. Hasle Hills is part of the nature protection area of Naturen på Holmstrup Mark, which also contains parts of the larger recreational area of Skjoldhøjkilen, stretching west from Hasle Hills.

Højen 13 is a villa and listed building in Aarhus, Denmark. The villa was built in 1958 and was listed in the Danish registry of protected buildings and places by the Danish Heritage Agency on 11 January 2008. The house was built by the architect Knud Friis as his home and study on a hill overlooking Brabrand Lake in the Brabrand suburb.Knud Friis owned the architect firm Friis & Moltke with his partner Elmar Moltke and they collaborated on most of their projects including their private residences in the Aarhus area. In 1957 Knud Friis and his wife bought a 3000 m2 parcel of land on top of a hill overlooking Brabrand Lake and decided to build their new home there. The original house was built in 1958 and consisted of two parallel wings oriented north to south and connected by two walls that isolates a paved courtyard between the structures. The structure of the main building is formed by the two white garden walls which carry the 1st floor concrete walls which appear like free hanging beams along the width of the garden.The main building is in two floors with kitchen, dining room, bath and guest rooms on the ground floor while the living room, bedroom and study were on the 1st floor while the other wing contained the garage and shed. In 1970 the villa was expanded with a third partially submerged wing to the east, separated from the main building by a skylight column. Most rooms were moved to this new wing leaving more space for other activities in the main building.The villa is an example of brutalist architecture. The walls are of raw concrete with visible marks from formwork boards, the doors and windows are very noticeable and kept in blue and the floors are paved with rock or linoleum. The raw appearance is appeased by the hilly and lush surroundings high above the lake.

Tilst is a suburban area of Aarhus, Denmark, situated some 10 km to the west of Aarhus. The Tilst area is marked by big city blocks and large traditional suburban areas. In the surrounding area are several superstores, which mainly serve the inner city population of Aarhus. The area is most commonly known for the Bilka warehouse, the largest in Denmark and the only one of its kind in the Aarhus area. The area is divided by the intercity Viborgvej road, with Tilst on the northern side, and the True and Skjoldhøj area situated to the south, bordering Brabrand and Hasle. Tilst has a relatively high density of immigrants compared to the rest of Aarhus, and the suburb is home to many ethnic groups. Tilst is divided into several neighbourhoods, each one usually identified by its location or street names. One area for example, a residential one near the lake of Geding Sø in the western parts, is known as Blomsterkvarteret (The Flower Quarter) since all the streets are named after flowers. There is a relatively large industrial park, with mostly light industry, in the eastern outskirts of Tilst. The local public school is Tilst Skole, and the local gymnasium is called Langkær Gymnasium og HF. The local church, Tilst Kirke, founded in the 1100s is among the oldest churches in Scandinavia, but with several additions from the 15th century.

Brabrand (Danish pronunciation: [ˈpʁɑːˌpʁɑnˀ]) is a postal district of Aarhus Municipality, Denmark. South of Brabrand, in the Aarhus river-valley, is the largest recreational area of Aarhus Municipality, comprising the Brabrand Lake and the meadow-lake of Årslev, with surrounding natural sites.

Brabrand Lake (Danish: Brabrand-søen or Brabrand Sø) is a lake in the district of Brabrand (Gellerup), west of Aarhus city, Denmark. The Aarhus River passes through Brabrand Lake and it is possible to canoe all the way to the inner city from here. The lake is oblong-shaped. Since 2003, Brabrand Lake has been steadily extended 3–4 km further west, with the new lake of Årslev Engsø (lit.: Årslev meadow-lake). In 2001–2, it was politically decided to abandon the artificial draining of the meadows and as of 2013, Årslev meadow lake has a surface area of around 100 hectares (250 acres). The total area including adjoining meadows and reed beds totals 240 hectares (590 acres). It is hoped that Eurasian bittern and otter will find themselves a new home here with time. In everyday parlance, "Brabrand Lake" is a general term including the surroundings as well, indicating a total area of around 560 hectares (1,400 acres) with 253 hectares (630 acres) for the lake alone. A special Natura2000 protected area under the European Union, Brabrand Lake is home to a large variety of birds and an important resting place for migrating birds, with several towers built to facilitate bird-watching. A public hiking trail surrounds the lake, whose landscape varies from wide meadows and reed beds to dense woods. Privately owned pastures almost completely surround the lake and are not publicly accessible, but public paths leading to the lake are scattered in between. There are several garden allotments ("kolonihaver" in Danish) near Brabrand Lake and it is a popular recreational spot. It is a statutory goal of the Aarhus municipality to make the area publicly accessible and attractive to the public.

Elev is a small town in Aarhus Municipality, Central Denmark Region in Denmark with a population of 1,821 (1 January 2023).Elev is situated 12 kilometers North-west of Aarhus on the northern slopes of Egådalen valley, between Lystrup and Trige, close to the motorway Djurslandsmotorvejen, which connects with E45. Elev is part of Elev Parish where Elev Church is situated.

Tilst Church is a church in Aarhus, Denmark, situated in the suburb Tilst 8 kilometers north-west of Aarhus city center. Tilst Church is from the 1100s, erected as a typical Danish Romanesque village church. Later additions in the 15th century added a Gothic tower and porch. Tilst Church is the only church in Tilst Parish but it is a part of the Tilst-Kasted pastorate which includes Tilst and Kasted Churches. There were 5.163 members of the Church of Denmark living in Tilst Parish on 1 January 2016.

Thorald's House (Danish:Thoralds Hus) is a house and a listed building in Aarhus, Denmark. The house was built in approximately 1750 and was listed on the Danish registry of protected buildings and places by the Danish Heritage Agency on 21 March 2012. The house is situated in the Tilst suburb 8 km west of the city center, adjacent to the Tilst Church.
