Nam Wan Kok

Tai Nam Wan (Chinese: 大南灣), or Nam Wan (南環, correctly 南灣), was a bay on the south coast of Tsing Yi Island, Hong Kong. The bay was reclaimed for Tsing Yi Power Station operated by China Light and Power. As there is another south bay, Nam Wan (南灣), near Sai Tso Wan to the west of the island, some people refer to this bigger one as big south bay. The Chinese name Nam Wan (南環) is a mistaken form of Nam Wan (南灣). The two characters for Wan in Cantonese are pronounced identically except for the tone.

Chau Tsai (Chinese: 洲仔) was a small island off the southern shore of Nam Wan Kok on Tsing Yi Island, Hong Kong. It was also known as Chun Fa Rock (Chung Hue Rock), or Chung Hue Shik (春花石) in some historical documents. The island was merged with Tsing Yi Island by land reclamation for the construction of the CRC Oil Storage Depot.

Nam Wan Tunnel is a tunnel in Hong Kong opened to traffic on 20 December 2009, along with the West Tsing Yi Viaduct, East Tsing Yi Viaduct and Stonecutters Bridge. The road tunnel, which forms an important part of the HK$15 billion Route 8, linking Tsing Yi and Sha Tin in the city, began construction since 2003 and was completed in 2007. The twin-tube tunnel, built by the Highways Department of the Government of Hong Kong, is 1.2 kilometres (0.75 mi) long and has three lanes in either direction in the southern part of Tsing Yi from Sai Tso Wan to Nam Wan Kok. It provides linkage between the eastern part of the New Territories and Hong Kong International Airport. The tunnel is toll-free. The twin tunnels are 15 metres (49 ft) wide with 12 cross-passages and emergency walkways, and a portal building at each end. They were formed by blasting through granite and volcanic rocks.

Tsing Yi Peak (Chinese: 青衣山, or Tsing I Peak formerly) or Sam Chi Heung (三支香) is a hill with three peaks occupying the southern half of the Tsing Yi Island, Hong Kong. The hill is situated on the western half of Victoria Harbour. Its peaks are good locations to observe the harbour and the channels among harbour islands. While situated in the south, a short hill Liu To Shan occupies the northwest of the island. The three peaks align along north and south, and their heights increase from north to south. The highest south peak is of 334 metres. There is a paved trail linking the three peaks. Two tunnels run beneath the hill. Cheung Tsing Tunnel goes through the north peak while Nam Wan Tunnel through the three peaks in diagonal. There is no vehicle access to the peaks. Most of the petroleum oil depots in Hong Kong are located on the south and west industrial area of the Tsing Yi Island. Tsing Yi Peak is a natural barrier protecting 200 thousand residents in the island north and east. Alternative indigenous name Sam Chi Heung (三支香) means three joss sticks associating with its shape of three peaks.

The Technological and Higher Education Institute of Hong Kong (THEi) is the member institution of the Vocational Training Council (VTC) which provides vocationally-oriented bachelor's degree programmes for HKDSE candidates. Nam Wan (Chinese: 南灣) is a bay south of Sai Tso Wan, Tsing Yi Island, Hong Kong. It is at one end of Nam Wan Tunnel. "Nam Wan" means South Bay in Cantonese.

Sai Shan Village is a village on Tsing Yi Island, Hong Kong. The village was beneath the valley of Sai Shan and Tsing Yi Peak near Mayfair Gardens and the Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education (Tsing Yi). A stream runs from the valley was water source for agriculture in the village. Part of the village was demolished to reduce the risk of flooding and align with Hong Kong Government policy on squatters. The land was replaced by a small park. The village is reachable from a trail starting from a bus stop adjacent to Ching Hong Road and Mayfair Gardens. Another trail leading to another valley with graveyards and fields lies high up between the middle peak and northern peak of Tsing Yi Peak.

Rambler Crest (Chinese: 藍澄灣) is a housing development on Tsing Yi Island, Hong Kong, which includes a private housing estate, shopping mall and 3 hotels, namely Rambler Garden Hotel (華逸酒店), Rambler Oasis Hotel (青逸酒店) and Winland 800 Hotel (永倫800酒店). It was developed by Cheung Kong Holdings. The name Rambler comes from the name of nearby channel, Rambler Channel. The 200 m (656 ft) private swimming pool at Rambler Crest is the longest swimming pool in Hong Kong.

Mayfair Gardens (Chinese: 美景花園) is the first private housing estate on Tsing Yi, Hong Kong. It was built by Sun Hung Kai Properties and established between 1982 and 1984. The estate is composed of eight residential buildings, namely Blocks 5 to 12.

Sai Shan (Chinese: 細山) is a hill behind Mayfair Gardens on Tsing Yi Island, Hong Kong. The hill is east of and beneath the northern peak of Tsing Yi Peak. A village, Sai Shan Village is in the valley between Sai Shan and Tsing Yi Peak. A road, Sai Shan Road between Mayfair Gardens and Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education (Tsing Yi) is named after the hill.

Ng Tsang Lau (Chinese: 五層樓; lit. 'five-storey house') was a cape on the south west corner of Tsing Yi Island, Hong Kong. Its shore was reclaimed for the Mobil oil depot. It is near Tai Nam Wan on the island.

Tsing Yi, sometimes referred to as Tsing Yi Island, is an island in the urban area of Hong Kong, to the northwest of Hong Kong Island and south of Tsuen Wan. With an area of 10.69 km2 (4.13 sq mi), the island has extended drastically by reclamation along almost all its natural shore and the annexation of Nga Ying Chau (牙鷹洲) and Chau Tsai. Three major bays or harbours, Tsing Yi Lagoon, Mun Tsai Tong and Tsing Yi Bay (青衣灣) in the northeast, have been completely reclaimed for new towns. The island generally is zoned into four quarters: the northeast quarter is a residential area, the southeast quarter is Tsing Yi Town, the southwest holds heavy industry, and the northwest includes a recreation trail, a transportation interchange and some dockyards and ship building industry. The island is in the northwest of Victoria Harbour and part of its coastline is subject to the Protection of the Harbour Ordinance.
