Bennett Hill Farm

The Clarksville Elementary School in Clarksville, New York, also known as Clarksville Grade School, is a Modern Movement-style building built in 1949. The design by Henry L. Blatner. Harry Blatner was an architectural success that was featured in nationwide publications and led to much change in how schools were designed. The application of bilateral lighting was one innovation. The school was closed after the 2010–11 school year. It is currently home to the Albany County Sheriff's Uniform Patrol Division.It was listed on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places in 2008.

Teunis Houghtaling House, also known as Vredehuis, is a historic home located at Clarksville in Albany County, New York. It was built in two stages: the 1+1⁄2-story main block was built about 1770, expanded to a five-bay dwelling about 1790, at which time a 1-story addition was also completed. It is constructed of hand-hewn timber framing. Also on the property are two frame outbuildings and a small family cemetery with burials dating to the early 19th century.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2004.

Albany County ( AWL-bə-nee) is a county in the state of New York, United States. Its northern border is formed by the Mohawk River, at its confluence with the Hudson River, which is to the east. As of the 2020 United States Census, the population was 314,848. The county seat and largest city is Albany, which is also the state capital of New York. The Helderberg Escarpment, also known as the Helderberg Mountains, is an escarpment in eastern New York, United States, roughly 11 miles (18 km) west of the city of Albany. The escarpment is the northeastern extremity of the Allegheny Plateau. It rises steeply from the Hudson Valley below, with an elevation difference of approximately 700 feet (from 400 to 1,100 feet) over a horizontal distance of approximately 2,000 feet. Much of the escarpment is within John Boyd Thacher State Park, and has views of the Hudson Valley and the Capital District.

New Salem is a hamlet in the town of New Scotland, Albany County, New York, United States. It is located in a valley at the foot of the Helderberg Escarpment along New York State Route 85. A local fair and car show is held every year in this small hamlet. It is also home to the town of New Scotland's community center and museum.

Onesquethaw Valley Historic District is a national historic district principally located at New Scotland in Albany County, New York. It includes 25 contributing buildings and three contributing archaeological sites. In encompasses farmsteads and sites in part of the valley of Onesquethaw Creek, a tributary of Coeymans Creek. Most notable are eight 18th-century stone houses. The archaeological sites are a grist mill site, sawmill site, and a prehistoric Indian site.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1974.

Clayton A. Bouton High School is a public high school located in Voorheesville, Albany County, New York, U.S.A., and is the only high school operated by the Voorheesville Central School District. Athletics at Voorheesville high school include boys and girls tennis, cross country, soccer, track, basketball, swimming (teamed together with neighboring Guilderland High School), and volleyball. Single sex sports include softball, baseball, and football. Co-ed sports are cheerleading, wrestling, bowling, and golf. Their mascot is the Blackbird and they claim three NYSPHSAA titles with Boys Soccer in 1990, and Girls Basketball in 1998 and 2002. In the 2002-2003 school year a brand new gymnasium was opened that seats roughly 500 with the unique aspect of bleachers only on the south side of the gymnasium. That fall also saw brand new soccer and football fields opened along with the school's first running track. The football field was dedicated to former coach and player Tom Buckley who died in the mid-1980s. Just a quarter mile down Route 85 A lie additional practice soccer fields as well as another baseball field, collectively known as the satellite fields. Voorheesville's student body is very active in supporting its teams despite its relatively small numbers. The 2014-2015 Voorheesville Football team went undefeated for the first time in 48 years in the regular season. The "Birdcage" is often found at boys basketball games loudly supporting the team. Voorheesville competes in Classes B, CC, C, and D depending on the sport. Clayton A. Bouton offers a variety of clubs and activities including Model United Nations, Ski Club, Mock Trial, SADD, National History Club, Student Government, Torch (yearbook), The Helderbarker (school newspaper), Builders Club (affiliated with the New Scotland Kiwanis), Speech and Debate Club, Dungeons and Dragons Club, and National Honor Society. The fine arts department has been widely recognized, with NYSSMA award winning band and chorus groups. The school also boasts a strong tradition in Drama Club; the Voorheesville Dionysians present a musical in the spring. In 2022, the Drama Club's performance was nominated by Proctor's Theatre in Schenectady for Best High School Musical. Famous alumnae include actress Yvonne Perry, Joe Kraemer (composer) and pop singer Nikki Cleary.

New Scotland is a town in Albany County, New York, United States. The population was 9,096 at the 2020 census. The town is southwest of Albany, New York, the state capital. New Scotland is centrally located in the county.

Feura Bush is a hamlet in the town of New Scotland, Albany County, New York, United States. It is in the southeastern corner of the town, along the Bethlehem town-line, eight miles south of Albany. The Feura Bush ZIP Code (12067) includes parts of the town of Bethlehem. It is in the Onesquethaw Volunteer Fire Company fire protection district. The 2020 Census showed 28 employer establishments in the hamlet.

WMHT-FM (89.1 MHz) is a listener-supported, non-commercial radio station licensed to Schenectady, and serving the Capital District of New York. It has a classical music radio format, with most programming originating in-house, but with some shows and news from National Public Radio, American Public Media and the Public Radio Exchange. It is the sister station to WMHT Channel 17, the PBS member station for the Albany/Schenectady/Troy media market. WMHT-FM has an effective radiated power (ERP) of 6,100 watts. The transmitter is located on the Helderberg Escarpment antenna farm on Pinnacle Road in New Salem, New York. WMHT-FM broadcasts using HD Radio technology.WMHT-FM programming is also heard on a part-time basis on FM 88.7 WRHV in Poughkeepsie, which is involved in one of the last radio timeshare arrangements in the United States alongside State University of New York at New Paltz-owned WFNP-FM. From October 2005 to March 2006, WMHT-FM programming was also heard on co-owned FM 97.7 WBKK in Amsterdam. That station now airs an adult album alternative format, also heard on WMHT-FM's HD2 digital subchannel.

It is owned by Sinclair Broadcast Group alongside CW affiliate WCWN (channel 45, also licensed to Schenectady). The two stations share studios on Balltown Road in Niskayuna, New York (with a Schenectady postal address); WRGB's transmitter is located on the Helderberg Escarpment west of New Salem. WRGB is notable for being one of the first television stations in the world. It began broadcasting experimentally in early 1928, with the first daily programs being broadcast later that year. It later became one of a handful of television stations licensed for commercial broadcasting operation before the end of World War II. The station launched the on-camera careers of TV chefs Art "Mr. Food" Ginsburg in the mid-1970s; and of Rachael Ray, who launched her "30 Minute Meals" segment on WRGB's newscasts in the mid-1990s.
