Budakeszi

Szépjuhászné (English: Beautiful shepherdess) ( from 1945 to 1992 Ságvári-liget ) is a small clearing in the 2nd district of Budapest, in the saddle between Hárshegy and János-hegy.

The Monastery of St Lawrence at Buda, also known as the Pauline Monastery of Budaszentlőrinc (Hungarian: budaszentlőrinci pálos kolostor), is a former monastery belonging to the Pauline Order. Destroyed by the Ottomans, the remains of the monastery grounds are in an area called Szépjuhászné (English: Beautiful shepherdess) which is in the saddle between Hárshegy and János Hill in the 2nd district of Budapest. It is where the Pauline Order founded their first friary. Today, only the foundation walls of the monastery remain.

The Elizabeth Lookout (Hungarian: Erzsébet-kilátó) is a historic lookout tower on János Hill (Hungarian: János-hegy) above Budapest. Built in 1911, the tower was named after Empress Elisabeth, wife of Emperor Franz Joseph I. Frigyes Schulek was the architect. The tower is near Budapest's District XII, and may be reached from the Széll Kálmán tér of Budapest. At first, there was a low wooden platform, which was demolished. After that, Frederick Gluck had an idea, to raise a stone tower and then he started gathering investors for the project. Budapest city approved the project in 1907 and Schulek Frederick received the commission to build the tower. The construction started in 1908 and Paul Kluczinger was the construction manager. The tower was built from haraszti limestone. The lookout was named after Queen Elizabeth, who visited the mountain in 1882.

János Hill (Hungarian: János-hegy) (also John's Hill) is the highest point of Budapest with a height of 528 m (1,732 ft), located in the western part of the city. From Elizabeth Lookout on the top of the hill one can get an impressive panoramic view of the whole region.

Hárshegy (English:Linden Hill, German: Lindenberg) is a part of Budapest's 2nd district. Its entire area is made up of Nagy-Hárs Hill (Great Linden Hill) and Kis-Hárs Hill (Little Linden Hill), from which there are sweeping views of Budapest. The area is a popular place for recreation, and the Hárs-hegy railway station of the Children's Railway is located in there. The name of the area "Linden Hill" alludes to the geologic history of the area. The Hárshegy Sandstone Formation is named after the region.

The Bathory Cave (Hungarian: Bátori-barlang) is a cave located just below the top of Nagy-Hárs Hill (Great Linden Hill), on the northeast side of the mountain. It is located within the Danube-Ipoly National Park and the 2nd district of Budapest. The cave gets its name from Pauline monk, László Báthory who used the cave as a hermitage for twenty years.

Konkoly Observatory (Hungarian: Konkoly Thege Miklós Csillagászati Intézet; obs. code: 053) is an astronomical observatory located in Budapest, Hungary is part of the Research Centre for Astronomy and Earth Sciences (Hungarian: Csillagászati és Földtudományi Kutatóközpont) and belongs to the Eötvös Loránd Kutatási Hálózat. It was founded in 1871 by Hungarian astronomer Miklós Konkoly-Thege (1842–1916) as a private observatory, and was donated to the state in 1899. Konkoly Observatory, officially known as ELKH CSFK Konkoly Thege Miklós Csillagászati Intézet in Hungarian, is the largest astronomical research institute in Hungary, and hosts the largest telescopes in the country. The Observatory has more than 60 researchers, a quarter of them are non-Hungarian. The main research areas include stellar structure and evolution, stellar and solar activity, variable stars, star and planetary formation, interstellar material, exoplanets, large sky survey, Solar System studies, nuclear astrophysics, high energy astrophysics including supernovae, gamma-ray bursts and other transient events, radio astronomy, galactic archeology, extragalaxies, designing and manufacturing astronomical instrumentation and cubesats, as well as history of astronomy. The Institute has a close collaboration with Hungarian universities, the researches teach and supervise students at ELTE and Szeged Universities. Konkoly Observatory runs the assistant researcher (Hungarian: demonstrátor program introducing undergraduate students to scientific research and using astronomical telescopes and instruments. The Observatory hosted 5 Lendület-grants, 2 ERC-projects and several national large infrastructure projects (GINOP). As well as performing astronomical research, the observatory published the Information Bulletin on Variable Stars on behalf of the International Astronomical Union.

Normafa is a popular tourist sight in the Buda Hills. It is mainly known for its panoramic scenery and fresh air. It is located in Svábhegy, a part of the 12th district of Budapest.

Hűvösvölgy is a neighbourhood in the 2nd District of Budapest. The area is a popular hiking destination and is also an important transport hub. The suburb is known for its terminus of the Budapest Children's Railway. A public transport terminus connects settlements north of the Buda (Nagykovácsi, Remeteszőlős, Solymár) with Buda city centre.

Remeteszőlős is a village in Pest county, Hungary.

Budakeszi (Hungarian: Budakeszi járás) is a district in western part of Pest County. Budakeszi is also the name of the town where the district seat is found. The district is located in the Central Hungary Statistical Region.
