Cayma District is one of the twenty-nine districts of the Arequipa Province in Peru.Arequipa is known as the birthplace of Adobo, the city's official dish. It also houses 17th century churches. It is the place were the Lozada family, one of Arequipa's most prestigious families and founders of the Arequipa Clinic, have lived since their arrival from Spain in the 1800s.

The "Casa del Moral" (House of the mulberry tree) is a large ancestral house built around 1730 in Arequipa, Peru. Favored by tourists, it is one of Peru's best and most well-preserved samples of Andean Baroque civil architecture. The name of the house derives from the emblematic presence of a centennial tree of "moras" (Mulberry) in the center of the main patio of the large house. The Casa del Moral houses a collection of paintings from the "Escuela Cusqueña" (Cusco School), a colonial art form. Its library contains more than 3,000 volumes, primarily hispanic literature. The house is currently the property of the Peruvian bank Bancosur.

The Church of La Compañía is one of the many churches located in the Historic Center of Arequipa, Peru. It is located between the Portal de la Municipalidad and the Portal de Flores. Temple erected by the Society of Jesus in the Peruvian city of Arequipa, it is one of the most outstanding examples of the so-called Andean Baroque. Inside the temple you can see carved wooden altarpieces covered with gold leaf. In the sacristy is the Chapel of San Ignacio, with polychrome murals showing tropical flora and fauna. The cloisters were built in the 18th century. This is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site "Historical Centre of the City of Arequipa".

The Monastery of Carmelitas Descalzas de San José y Santa Teresa, better known as the Monastery of Santa Teresa in Arequipa, is a religious complex that houses a community of cloistered Discalced Carmelites nuns and the Virceroyalty Art Museum of Santa Teresa. It was founded in 1700 and is a sample of Andean Baroque architecture. It is located in the historic center of Arequipa (Peru), so it is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site.
