Benton Square railway station served the district of Benton, Tyne and Wear, England, from 1909 to 1915 on the Blyth and Tyne Railway.

North Tyneside is a metropolitan borough in the metropolitan county of Tyne and Wear, England. It forms part of the greater Tyneside conurbation. North Tyneside Council is headquartered at Cobalt Park, Wallsend. Killingworth, formerly Killingworth Township, is a town in North Tyneside, England. Killingworth was built as a planned town in the 1960s, next to Killingworth Village, which existed for centuries before the Township. Other nearby towns and villages include Forest Hall, West Moor and Backworth. Most of Killingworth's residents commute to Newcastle, or its surrounding area. However, Killingworth developed a sizeable commercial centre, with bus links to the rest of Tyne and Wear. Killingworth is served by Palmersville Metro station. The town of Killingworth in Australia is named after the British original because of its extensive coal mines; it lies west of Newcastle, New South Wales, so-named for the same reason.

Forest Hall, also known as Foresthall, was a short-lived railway station on the Blyth and Tyne Railway, serving the village of Forest Hall in the borough of North Tyneside, Tyne and Wear, England. It was opened on 27 June 1864, along with the Blyth and Tyne's branch to Newcastle New Bridge Street station. It was closed on 1 March 1871, along with the opening of the railway's relocated Benton station some 0.5 miles (0.80 km) to the west. It should not be confused with the nearby Forest Hall station on the East Coast Main Line, which was known as Benton station until 1874, after this station had closed. Nothing remains of the former station, which had a station building on its south-eastern (up) platform. The Benton south-east curve, opened in 1904 to link the East Coast Main Line with the Blyth and Tyne, cut through the site of the station.

Moorside is a housing estate near Backworth and Shiremoor. It consists of a large housing estate, a few shops and a veterinary practice.There is a Catholic church located in Moorside, although it is usually stated as being situated in Backworth.In the early 2000s, a new community was built over the road from Moorside. It is called Northumberland Park.

Backworth is a village in the metropolitan borough of North Tyneside in the county of Tyne and Wear, England, about 3+1⁄2 miles (6 km) west of Whitley Bay on the north east coast. It lies 5 miles (8 km) northeast of Newcastle. Other nearby towns include North Shields to the southeast, Wallsend to the south, and Cramlington to the northwest. Backworth is often recognised to include Backworth Village, Castle Park Estate and moorside estate. The hamlets of West Holywell and East Holywell lie to the northeast of Backworth. Shiremoor lies to the South-East and Earsdon to the East.

Northumberland Park is a place in the Metropolitan Borough of North Tyneside. Although built as an individual settlement along the A19 corridor, it is often referred to as being part of Shiremoor. There are two main housing estates in Northumberland Park and a Metro station, also named Northumberland Park. The Northumberland Park estate should not be confused with Northumberland Park on King Edwards Road, North Shields which is a park that opened in 1885.

It joined the network on 11 December 2005, and is the second-newest station on the network as of March 2022.

West Allotment is a village in the Metropolitan Borough of North Tyneside. Prior to 1974 it was part of Northumberland. It is located approximately 4 miles (6.4 km) inland of Whitley Bay and approximately 3 miles (4.8 km) north of The Tyne Tunnel. A mile or so north of West Allotment, the extensive built-up areas of North Tyneside change abruptly into green belt stretching north into south east Northumberland. West Allotment was originally a mining community. There is a War memorial situated on the old high street. Silverlink Biodiversity Park is a local nature reserve adjacent to the village, which at the top of the hill has an ornate giant sundial at its summit.West Allotment is the nearest village to the Cobalt Business Park in North Tyneside. The Cobalt is the UK's largest office park, and is the largest conglomeration of purpose-built office space in the Northern Hemisphere. Companies housed on the business park include Procter & Gamble, Orange, Santander UK, G4S; North Tyneside Council is also based there.
