WWNL is a brokered programming station, where hosts pay for time slots on WWNL and may seek donations to their ministries during their shows. By day, WWNL is powered at 50,000 watts, the maximum permitted for AM radio stations. Because AM 1080 is a clear channel frequency reserved for Class A stations KRLD Dallas and WTIC Hartford, WWNL is a daytimer, required to sign off the air at night. North Park is a 3,075-acre (12 km2) county park in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, United States. It is the largest in the county's 12,000 acre (49 km²) network of nine distinct parks. Completed in 1931, North Park is sited 15 miles (24 km) northeast of downtown Pittsburgh in Hampton, McCandless, and Pine Townships. The park features the largest man-made body of water in the county, over 75 acres (300,000 m2), bordered by four miles of woodlands. Its swimming pool was one of the largest in the United States when it opened on July 5, 1937. It holds 2,225,000 gallons of water (compared to 20–30,000 gallons in a modern city swimming pool) and has enough room for 5,000 people to swim. The pool is 50m x 105m. The park also offers a golf course, large ice skating rink (completed in February 1961), movie theater, picnic groves, tennis courts, basketball courts, kayak rentals, a treetop obstacle course with zipline, and several miles of trails for walking, hiking, bike riding, and mountain biking--including trails for the visually impaired, known as the "Braille Trail". The Rachel Carson Trail runs through North Park, as well. North Park is also notable for their boathouse restaurant called "Over the Bar", which has a bicycle theme. The Western Pennsylvania Model Railroad Museum is a railroad museum in Gibsonia, Pennsylvania. It is dedicated to the exhibition of model trains and historical railroad paraphernalia. The museum's main exhibit is a 40' by 100' scale model of the railroad lines connecting Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and Cumberland, Maryland, accompanied by information on the history of the route and the technical details of its construction.Other features include a children's area, a gift shop, and a snack bar and a newsagent. From November to January, the museum also features an annual holiday train show.

Operating with a transmitter power of 50,000 watts non-directional, the station can be heard during daylight hours throughout central and western Pennsylvania, along with portions of the adjacent states of Ohio, West Virginia, Maryland and New York State, plus the southernmost part of the Canadian province of Ontario. With a good radio, KDKA can be heard throughout the state of Pennsylvania and much of the Eastern United States and Eastern Canada at night. The station serves as western Pennsylvania's Primary Entry Point for the Emergency Alert System. KDKA has described itself as the "Pioneer Broadcasting Station of the World". It is considered by many historians as the first commercially licensed radio station. Initially using the temporarily assigned "special amateur" call sign of 8ZZ, it traces its beginning to its broadcast of the Harding-Cox presidential election results on the evening of November 2, 1920.

Saint Alexander Nevsky Cathedral is a parish of the Diocese of Western Pennsylvania of the Orthodox Church in America. It was founded in the Woods Run section of Pittsburgh's North Side in 1891. It was the first Russian Orthodox community in the Pittsburgh area.The first pastor of Saint Alexander Nevsky parish was Fr. Victor Toth, brother of St. Alexis Toth, who was canonized by the Orthodox Church in America in 1994. When the Urban Redevelopment Authority of Pittsburgh took over the Woods Run area in the late 1960s, the parish relocated to Allison Park, in Pittsburgh's North Hills. The new Church edifice was designed by architect Sergey Padyukov and was consecrated in 1972 by Bishop Theodosius. The iconostasis, designed by parishioner Vladimir Drobashevsky, and adorned with major icons and feast day icons, was constructed in 1978. The second phase of beautification took place in 1984, and the final phase took place in 1996. Fr. Alexander Jasiukowicz of Chicago and Florida was the icon painter for the church. The Saint Alexander Nevsky icon located on the confessional table contains relics of Saint Alexander inside. In 1981 Bishop Kyrill designated the Saint Alexander Nevsky parish to become the Archdiocesan Cathedral. The 100th anniversary of the community was celebrated in 1991. At the turn of the millennium, the Cathedral underwent a major expansion to provide greater school facilities, handicapped access, increased kitchen space, offices, and a theological library. A new set of Russian bells was donated in 1999. As of 2013 Bishop Melchisedek was in office. The community was led by Archpriest Michael Senyo, who arrived in September 2010 upon the retirement of long-time rector Archpriest Paul Suda. The Cathedral choir was led by Larice Nescott. The parish school was supervised by Matushka Susanne Senyo. Adult education was supervised by Father Michael, assisted by Paul Graycar. A large complement of Altar Servers and Readers assisted at divine services. There was a Women's Association.
