The Methodist Episcopal Church South in Mount Sterling, Kentucky is a historic church at the junction of E. Main and N. Wilson Streets. It was built in 1883 and added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1991. It is a two-story brick building with a gable roof and a three-story entry tower.

The Enoch Smith House, on Kentucky Route 1 in Mount Sterling, Kentucky, was built around 1808 to 1811. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980. Also known as Happy Hill, it is a one-and-a-half-story single-pile central passage plan house. It was described as "a particularly clear expression of the early architectural development of Montgomery County. Embodying the basic form and details of the Federal style, the house is distinguished by the recessed panels on the main facade and the delicate interior moldings. Traditionally considered to have been built by Enoch Smith, Sr., on land he settled in 1776, the house derives additional significance through the association with Smith, one of the county's original settlers and a key figure in the establishment of the county seat of Mt. Sterling."

On a clear day, WMST can be heard as far west as Louisville, Kentucky, as far east as Morehead, Kentucky, as far north as Florence, Kentucky, and as far south as Monticello, Kentucky The most popular item on the current programming line-up includes the locally produced show, "Mornings on Main" which can be heard weekday mornings from 8:20am until 10:30am. WMST airs five major newscasts ("Gateway Regional News") every weekday (6:00am, 7:00am, 8:00am, 12:00pm, 5:00pm).
