Poonithura is a region in the city of Kochi in Kerala, India. It features one of the popular temples in Ernakulam and it has historical links to the Sree Poornathrayeesa Temple in Tripunithura. As per the mythology it is referred in Mahabaratha as the place where Arjuna build this temple for lord Krishna in the Chapter of Santhana Gopala. It is believed that this happened here and later on the temple was moved to Tripunithura. The temple here is called Poonithura Kottaram Sree Krishna Swami Temple. The annual 'Ashtamirohini' festival is celebrated with much fanfare by the local residents. Pooni means the "containment for arrows ", "Thura means sea shore" . The belief is that in Mahabaratha Arjuna dropped his "puni" before lord krishna as a sign of accepting defeat in the great kurukshetra battle.

The Sanctuary is the training ground and academy base of Indian football club Kerala Blasters FC. The club officially announced the completion of development on 5 September 2025. Located in Thrippunithura (Kochi, Kerala) to the east of Kochi and north of Thrippunithura Mini Bypass Road, and covering 7140 m2, it has been used for training of senior team, academy, and reserves since 2025 . The land occupied by The Sanctuary is leased from the Sree Narayana Vidyapeetam Public School, Thrippunithura on a ten year agreement. It took the club almost eighteen months to complete the construction of the facility. The name Sanctuary reflects the spirit of Kerala Blasters. Inspired by the elephant in the club crest, a symbol of Kerala's strength & identity, it represents a safe space where players & staff can prepare, grow & thrive together.

Irumbu Palam (Iron Bridge) in Thrippunithura, Kerala is one of the earliest iron bridges in India. The bridge was built across the Purna River connecting Tripunithura and Poonithura which is part of the present Kochi Municipal Corporation. It was built by the British in 1890 during the reign of Keralavarma V. The bridge, which is still in use is considered as an heritage landmark of the city of Thrippunithura.

Sree Poornathrayesa temple (in Malayalam: ശ്രീ പൂര്‍ണ്ണത്രയീശ ക്ഷേത്രം) is a Hindu temple situated in Tripunithura, Kochi, the capital of the former Kingdom of Cochin, Kerala, India. The temple is considered among the greatest temples in Kerala and was the first among eight royal temples of the erstwhile Kochi Kingdom. The deity was also considered the national deity of Cochin and protector guardian of Tripunithura. The deity in this temple is Lord Vishnu, who is in the form of Santhanagopala Murthy. Lord Poornathrayeesa is known for his love of elephants. Hence more than 40 elephants participate in his Vrishchikotsavam. And most of the elephants are sent for the utsavam (festival) without a money return expected by the elephant owners as Poornathrayeesa is considered to be an elephant lover. The temple is famous for its yearly utsavams or festivals. The main one is the Vrishchikoltsawam, which is conducted every year in the month of Vrishchikam (November–December), kicking off the Ulsava season in Kerala. This Vrishchikolsavam is the biggest temple festival in the world followed by the koodalmanikyam ulsavam iringalakkuda (Thrissur pooram is not an utsavam but it is a pooram so not counted as an utsavam) and one of the biggest major festivals in the world. It is believed that childless couples will be blessed with children on praying Poornathrayesan. Offering kanikka (money offered to the lord) to Poornathrayeesa in the most pure gold pot on thrikketta purappadu day (fourth day of Vrishchikotsavam) is the greatest achievement that a devotee can achieve. Visiting Poornathrayeesa who is present on top of 15 elephants during the grand procession of Vrishchikotsavam is also considered to be an achievement of a devotee.

Thamaramkulangara Sree Dharma Sastha temple (Malayalam: താമരംകുളങ്ങര ശ്രി ധര്‍മശാസ്താ ക്ഷേത്രം) is a temple in Tripunithura, Kochi, in the state of Kerala, India.

Thrippunithura or Tripunithura (Malayalam pronunciation: ​[t̪r̥ipːuːɳit̪ːurɐ]), is a prominent historical and residential region in the City of Kochi in Kerala, India. Located about 7 km (4 mi) from the city centre, Tripunithura was the capital of the erstwhile Kingdom of Cochin. The descendants of the Cochin royal family still live in the palaces here. The Hill Palace situated in Tripunithura was the palace of Maharaja of Cochin, the ruler of Kingdom of Cochin. Tripunithura is also well known for its historical cultures which includes the annual festival Vrishchikoltsawam that takes place at the Sree Poornathrayeesa Temple. In local administration, it is a municipality named Tripunithura Municipality. In the state administrative structure, Tripunithura is part of the Ernakulam District in the state of Kerala.

Forum Mall Kochi is an upcoming mall under construction in the city of Kochi, Kerala, India. The Mall is promoted by one of the India's largest realty firm, the Prestige Group. Spanning over 10 acres of land, the mall has a total built up area of 10,60,000 sq ft and total retail space of 6,47,000 sq ft. The mall will have 6 major and 4 minor anchors including a Hypermarket, a Family Entertainment Centre, 20 restaurants, 11 food counters, 700 seater food court and 9 screen multiplex by PVR. A 40-room hotel space is also being developed in collaboration with Marriott International. The mall was scheduled to start its construction in 2009, however delayed due to global recession. The mall started its construction in April 2011, scheduled for a completion in 2022(not yet completed construction).

Vadakkekotta metro station is a metro station of Kochi Metro in India. It was opened on 1 September 2022 as a part of the extension of the metro system from Petta to SN Junction. Spread over an area of 4.3 lakh square feet, it is Kochi Metro’s biggest station. The station features Kerala's role in freedom struggle as its theme.

Chakkamkulangara Siva Temple is an ancient Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Shiva and Devi Parvathi is situated at Thrippunithura of Ernakulam District in Kerala state in India. The Chakkamkulangara temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva however temple is equally famous for the Navagraha pratishta. The Lord Shiva of the temple represents the Swayamvara moorthy though originally it was in the form of "Mrityunjaya" in his fierce ('ugra') form, facing west, featuring eight hands with various attributes. Thrippunithura is one of the Brahmin settlement in the ancient Kerala and Capital of Cochin kingdom. The temple structure is made kerala-dravidian architecture style and is more than 1000 years old. According to folklore, sage Parasurama has installed the idol of Lord Shiva. The sage Parasurama is the sixth incarnation of Lord Maha Vishnu. The temple is a part of the famous 108 Shiva temples of Kerala and references to this temple (Adampalli) is found in 108 Shivalaya sothram.

SN Junction metro station is a metro station of Kochi Metro. It was opened on 1 September 2022 as a part of the extension of the metro system from Pettah to SN Junction. The station depicts ayurveda and its modern approaches as its theme.

Thrippunithura Terminal is a terminal metro station serving as the southern terminal of the Kochi Metro which was opened on 6 March 2024. It was inaugurated by the Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi on 6 March 2024 and marked the completion of final station of the first phase of the Kochi metro system that starts from Aluva.
