Puerto Morelos

Puerto Morelos Lighthouse is an active lighthouse in the town and port of Puerto Morelos, on the Riviera Maya in the state of Quintana Roo, Mexico. The current lighthouse is the third in a succession of lights that have operated at the site on the seafront, close to the main pier. The second lighthouse, known as the Inclined Lighthouse (Spanish: Faro Inclinado), began tilting in 1967 and remains in place.

Joaquín Zetina Gasca is a neighbourhood within the Municipality of Puerto Morelos, Quintana Roo, Mexico, better known as the "Colonia" area of the municipality. In addition to the Zetina Gasca neighbourhood, there are several developments that are fraccionamentos or barrios of their own. There is the "Puerto" area, several blocks of beach houses and small hotels beyond the mangroves, about 3 kilometres (1.9 mi) from the "Colonia Joaquin Zetina Gasca" (a.k.a. Colonia). Plus, surrounding the "Colonia", there are: Villas 1, Villas 2 and Villas la Playa (Villas 4), and Pescadores. As of 2017, there are also now the Palma Real, Alborada, Palma Grand, Puerto Marino, El Faro and Veredas developments which are gated communities close within the range, but not part of the older "Colonia" area, which sports many restaurants, taco stands, grocery and vegetable stores and 2 supermarkets (AKI and Chedraui). The municipal offices are located in and around the "Colonia" area.

Belmond Maroma Resort and Spa is a hotel on Mexico's Riviera Maya, 30 miles south of Cancún. It was built by Mexico City architect Jose Luis Moreno a specialist in designing restaurants and small hotels, and opened in 1995. Moreno had first visited the area in 1976, when Cancún had few hotels and an airport terminal with a thatched roof. He first built a home for himself and then another which he planned to sell. In 1988 a hurricane destroyed the second house and he decided to rebuild it as a hotel. The hotel is built from local materials, including palm, bamboo and stone quarried in Mérida (the Yucatán's old Hispanic capital). Two- or three-storey buildings are dotted on the 25-acre beachfront portion of the 500-acre property, linked by stone walkways through the jungle. The resort was constructed without formal blueprints as Moreno always drew his free-flowing designs in the sand. Once he had his concept, a family of local masons, with whom he had worked on other projects, came to implement his designs. In 2002 the resort was acquired by Orient-Express Hotels, which in 2014 changed its name to Belmond Ltd. At that time the hotel was renamed Belmond Maroma Resort & Spa The company still uses the same family of Maya masons that have been working at the resort for over four decades and have added new oceanfront spa villas, expanded the restaurant and bar, added two new pools and built Kinan Spa.

Punta Maroma is a beach located in Mexico's easternmost state, Quintana Roo, on the Yucatán Peninsula. The beach of Punta Maroma faces the Caribbean Sea. Punta Maroma beach is located in Solidaridad Municipality at 20°44′16″N 86°58′03″W. It is located inside the tourist district known as the Riviera Maya, along the coastal Highway 307 which parallels the Caribbean. It is 35.3 kilometres (21.9 mi) km from the Cancún International Airport (CUN) and about 10 kilometres (6.2 mi) northeast of Playa del Carmen. It had a population of 58 inhabitants during the 2010 census. Known for its white sand coastline and crystal-clear waters and its coral reef, that is part of the Mesoamerican Barrier Reef System, the second longest one in the world.

Cancún Airport is a train station station next to Cancún International Airport. It is the most important station on the entire Tren Maya network, served by trains to all other stations.

Cancún International Airport (Spanish: Aeropuerto Internacional de Cancún) (IATA: CUN, ICAO: MMUN) serves as the primary gateway for the Cancún Metropolitan Area in Quintana Roo, the Mexican Caribbean, Riviera Maya, and Yucatán Peninsula. Operating as a hub for Viva Aerobus and a focus city for Volaris and Magnicharters, it facilitates flights to over 100 cities across 30 countries in the Americas and Europe. The airport is managed by Grupo Aeroportuario del Sureste (ASUR) and is the easternmost airport in Mexico. It is the largest airport in Mexico and Latin America in terms of international passengers, representing 35% of all international passengers in the country. Cancun Airport is a major destination served by most U.S. and Canadian mainline airlines from all their hubs and focus cities, making it the airport outside the United States with the highest number of passengers to and from the United States.Ranked as the 43rd busiest airport in the world, Cancun Airport is Mexico's second busiest, following Mexico City International Airport. Regionally, it stands as Latin America's fourth busiest and North America's 24th busiest airport as of 2023. In 2022, it handled 30,342,961 passengers, increasing to 32,750,411 passengers in 2023.In addition to its commercial operations, Cancun Airport supports various activities in general and executive aviation, flight training, and intensive air charter services. Cozumel and Tulum international airports serve as alternative options in the Cancun area, contributing to the region's overall aviation infrastructure.

The Estadio Coliseo Maya is a multi-use stadium located in Cancún, Quintana Roo, Mexico. It is used mostly for American football matches. The stadium has a capacity of 5,000 people. The stadium currently serves as the home field of the college football program for the Universidad Anáhuac Cancún, the Leones Anáhuac Cancún. It also hosted the Tiburones de Cancún for a single game in 2022.

The World Wide Technology Championship is a professional golf tournament on the PGA Tour in Mexico, contested at the Tiger Woods-designed El Cardonal golf course within the Diamante Cabo San Lucas resort. It debuted in February 2007 and was the first PGA Tour event to take place in Mexico. The first 16 years of the tournament took place in Riviera Maya before the tournament was moved to Los Cabos in 2023.

El Rey is an archaeological site of the pre-Columbian Mayan culture, located in the southeast of Mexico, in the tourist resort of Cancun, in the state of Quintana Roo.

Alfredo V. Bonfil is one of the communities in Benito Juárez Municipality, Quintana Roo, Mexico. It is effectively a commuter suburb of Cancún and is located just south of that city. Its population at the 2010 census was 14,900 inhabitants.

The Polifórum Benito Juárez a 5,800-seat indoor arena in Cancún, Quintana Roo, was built in just 128 days in 2008. It was built as the home of the Pioneros de Quintana Roo basketball team. The arena was built of reinforced concrete in order to withstand hurricanes that may come through the Yucatán Peninsula. It can also serve a shelter in case of a natural disaster. In addition to serving as home of the Pioneros and as a shelter for natural disasters, the Polifórum is also used for concerts, other sporting events, and other special events. It is also unusual in that its center-hung scoreboard does not include video screens, a must for most new arenas in the 21st century. There are 2,200 permanent seats. The arena cost 98 million pesos to build. The arena can seat up to 6,000 for concerts. The arena's lighting equipment was installed especially for large-scale TV transmission. Additionally, the Poliforum has all of the comforts of a gymnasium and, among its qualities, is equipped with four dressing rooms for teams participating in any tournament and recording artists who are performing live in concert.

The Golden Parnassus Resort and Spa is a hotel in Cancún, Mexico. The Golden Parnassus drew national media attention in Canada when, on April 16, 2009, it used physical force to prevent a group of 28 Canadian customers from leaving its premises, claiming that their bills had not been paid. The hotel also threatened to call police. Guests have reported having their luggage and passports taken away and being told they could not get them back unless they paid thousands of dollars.The customers had booked their stays at the hotel through Conquest Vacations, Inc., a Canadian company which suddenly shut its doors after reportedly not having paid its creditors for a month. The customers had used vouchers from Conquest as payment at check-in.The Toronto Star reports that customers of another resort who found themselves in a similar predicament were told by Mexico's Tourist Bureau in Toronto that hotels that had accepted vouchers from Conquest as payment at check-in were not entitled to demand payment a second time. The Star also quotes a representative of the Mexico Consumer Protection Bureau as saying that hotels may not legally retain customers' identification, such as passports.
