Tallanstown

Glyde Rangers GFC is a Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) club that fields gaelic football teams in competitions organised by Louth GAA. It is based in the County Louth village of Tallanstown, eleven kilometres southwest of Dundalk. As of 2025, the club competes in the Louth Junior Football Championship and Division 3 of the county football Leagues. At underage level, Glyde Rangers regularly combine with Tallanstown parish neighbours Westerns, Seán McDermott's and John Mitchels to enter teams in competitions under the banner of 'Baile Talún'. The club also has a Ladies' Gaelic football team that competes in the county Intermediate Championship.

St Mochta's GFC is a Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) club that fields Gaelic football teams in competitions organised by Louth GAA. It is based in the village of Louth, where Saint Mochta is said to have founded a monastery in the 6th century. Both the club and the football ground, which has been a frequent venue for county finals, are named in his honour. In 2021 the club reached the final of the Louth Senior Football Championship for the first time. Their side, which included former AFL player and Louth county footballer Ciarán Byrne, lost by eleven points to defending champions Naomh Máirtín at Ardee's Páirc Mhuire.As of 2023 John Moylan is manager of the senior team.In August 2023 St Mochta's won their first ever Senior trophy, the Cardinal O'Donnell Cup, by beating Naomh Máirtín in the Louth Senior Football League Final.

Louth (Irish: Lú) is a village at the heart of County Louth, Ireland. It is roughly 11 km south-west of the town of Dundalk, 10.9 km to neighbouring town Ardee. The village is approximately 15 km south-east of Carrickmacross town in County Monaghan. The village gave its name to the county.

It is based in the townland of Ballybailie, part of the civil parish of Ardee, less than two miles from Ardee town centre. As of 2023, the club competes in the Louth Junior Championship and Division 3 of the county football Leagues. Former St Nicholas hero Johnny Carter is the manager of the senior team.

Westerns GFC is a Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) club that was founded in 1951 and fields gaelic football teams in competitions organised by Louth GAA. The club is based in the parish of Reaghstown, close to the town of Ardee and the Louth/Monaghan border. Westerns have reached the final of the Louth Junior Football Championship four times, in each case being unsuccessful in winning the Christy Bellew Cup.As of 2023, the club competes in the Junior Championship and Division 3B of the county football Leagues. Anthony Durnin is the manager of the senior team.

Stonetown is a small rural community spanning the townlands of Stonetown Upper (Irish: Baile na Cloiche Uachtarach) and Stonetown Lower (Irish: Baile na Cloiche Íochtarach) in County Louth. It lies in the parish of Louth, 10 kilometres from Dundalk, County Louth, and 11 kilometres from Carrickmacross, County Monaghan. The community consists of a small chapel, a primary school, a football field and a community centre.

Annaghminnon Rovers GFC is a Gaelic football club from the small community of Stonetown in the parish of Louth, in County Louth. Founded in 1959, the club's colours are white and red (white jersey with red hoop). As of 2023, Rovers compete in the Louth Junior Football Championship and Division 3B of the county football Leagues. Cormac Malone is the team manager.

The Burning of Wildgoose Lodge was an arson and murder attack on Wildgoose Lodge, County Louth, Ireland, on the night of 29–30 October 1816, in which eight occupants were killed, including an infant aged five months. The house was near the County Monaghan border, in the townland of Reaghstown, civil parish of Philipstown, barony of Ardee. Eighteen men were executed for the crime, many of them innocent. The event inspired an 1830 short story by William Carleton (1794–1869) and the circumstances have been the subject of historical and political debate.

Knockbridge (Irish: Droichead an Chnoic) is a village in County Louth, Ireland. It is located in the townland of Ballinlough (Baile an Locha) in the historical barony of Dundalk Upper. As of the 2016 census, the village had a population of 667 people. Knockbridge won a "best kept village" award in the 2008 Tidy Towns competition.
