Hartford Hospital is an 938-bed acute care teaching hospital located in the South End of Hartford, Connecticut. Hartford Hospital was established in 1854. The hospital campus is located on Seymour Street in Hartford and is directly adjacent to the main campus of the Connecticut Children's Medical Center. Hartford Hospital was ranked #2 in Connecticut by U.S. News Best Hospitals and ranked #1 in the Hartford, Connecticut metro region by the same source. The hospital is a major tertiary care facility for the statewide region and is state designated as a Level I Trauma Center, able to care for the most critically injured of patients. It has 45 operating rooms and one of the largest surgical caseloads in the United States. The emergency room receives over 100,000 visits per year.

140 and 144 Retreat Avenue is a historic conjoined pair of houses in Hartford, Connecticut. Built in 1844 and 1851, the two houses are the only surviving reminders of the street's 19th-century streetscape. They were listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.

The Institute of Living is a comprehensive psychiatric facility in Hartford, Connecticut, that offers care across the spectrum of psychiatric services, including: A 24/7 crisis evaluation telephone assessment and triage: Experienced psychiatric nurses and clinicians collect, assess, and synthesize clinical, medical, psychosocial and other collateral data to ensure that the patient is referred to the appropriate level of care. Partial hospitalization (PHP) and intensive outpatient programs (IOP) for older adults, adults, young adults, teens, and children. The Medication Assisted Treatment Close to Home (MATCH) program uses a combination of medication and therapy to help people into recovery from addiction to opioids, alcohol or other drugs

The CREC Greater Hartford Academy of the Arts Half Day (known formerly as the Greater Hartford Academy of the Arts) is an integrated magnet arts high school serving students in Hartford, Connecticut and its surrounding towns. It is one of four schools located on the 16-acre (65,000 m2) campus of The Learning Corridor. The Capital Region Education Council (CREC) has managed the school since it was established in 1985. It is a half day program meaning that students attend their home district’s school for their academics and then attend the Academy in the afternoon for arts education.

The Grace S. Webb School, part of the Institute of Living (a psychiatric hospital) in Hartford, Connecticut, provides special education, clinical and related services to students who are in grades K-12.

The Allen Place–Lincoln Street Historic District encompasses a small neighborhood of late 19th-century housing built for white-collar service workers in southern Hartford, Connecticut. It is roughly bounded by Madison, Washington, and Vernon Streets, and Zion Hill Cemetery, and has well-preserved examples of vernacular Queen Anne and Colonial Revival architecture. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2003.

The Jefferson-Seymour District is a historic district encompassing a residential area on the south side of Hartford, Connecticut. Covering portions of Cedar, Wadsworth, Seymour and Jefferson Streets, it contains a well-preserved collection of late 19th and early 20th-century middle-class residential architecture, primarily executed in brick. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979.

The Lucius Barbour House is a historic house at 130 Washington Street in Hartford, Connecticut. Built in 1865, it is a high-quality local example of Italianate architecture executed in brick. It is also noted for its interior, which is a well-preserved later Victorian remodeling of the original. The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979.

Hartford Magnet Trinity College Academy (HMTCA) (formerly Hartford Magnet Middle School, HMMS) is a magnet school in Hartford, Connecticut which was named a Blue Ribbon School in 2006 and operates as part of the Hartford Public Schools. Starting July 1, 2011, HMMS was renamed Hartford Magnet Trinity College Academy and added a 9th grade, continuing to add a grade each year up to 12th grade. The school operates in partnership with Trinity College.

Congress Street is a city street in the South Green neighborhood of Hartford, Connecticut. Extending for a single block from the South Green to Morris Street, it was developed in the 1850s with modest two-family residences, with infill development of larger apartment blocks around the turn of the 20th century. The entire street was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1975 as a good example of a well-preserved late-19th century residential street.

Frog Hollow is one of the neighborhoods of Hartford, Connecticut. It is a predominantly working-class residential area, bounded on the north by Capitol Avenue, the east by Lafayette Street, the south by Madison and Hamilton Streets, and on the west by Interstate 84. The neighborhood was developed between about 1850 and 1930, and still contains a remarkable concentration of residential housing from that period. The entire neighborhood, covering more than 150 acres (61 ha) and including more than 900 buildings, is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

South Park Inn is an emergency homeless shelter located at 75 Main Street in Hartford, Connecticut. It was founded in 1982. Before the building was a shelter, it was once the South Park Methodist Church. Clients of the South Park Inn are assigned counselors who help with transportation, provide personal hygiene supplies, and help find housing. Clients must be 18 years old to stay. The shelter opens at 5:00 p.m. and closes at 8:00 p.m. for adults. The first floor is for male sleeping corridors and the second floor is for females and children to sleep. Everyone that stays at the shelter must do chores. 171 children stayed in the shelter in 2004. South Park Inn also has a program for men called Transitional Living which is for 33 homeless men who are motivated to make substantive changes in their lives.
