Hawfields Presbyterian Church

Hawfields is an unincorporated community in Alamance County, North Carolina, United States. Hawfields was first populated by Ulster Irish and Western African immigrants as early as the 17th century, but a firm establishment was not achieved until 1740–1750 and was originally called "Haw Old Fields" by the settlers because of the Haw River which runs partially through Hawfields and neighboring Mebane.Hawfields is located on North Carolina Highway 119, southwest of Mebane. It is one of the oldest communities in Alamance County, being referenced in historical works on the Sissipahaw. It is the site of the oldest church in Alamance County, Hawfields Presbyterian Church, which is on the National Register of Historic Places. This church was the seat of Orange Presbytery, which was formed in 1770.

Henderson Scott Farm Historic District is a historic farm and national historic district located near Mebane, Alamance County, North Carolina. It encompasses 10 contributing buildings on a farm near Mebane. The district includes the Federal style First Henderson Scott House (1836), Greek Revival style Second Henderson Scott House (1849), smokehouse (c. 1849), garage (1918), milk/butter House (c. 1900), Henderson Scott Store (1855), sheep barn (c. 1850), dairy barn 1 (c. 1935), chicken house (c. 1926), and wellhouse (c. 1926).It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1987.

Kerr-Patton House, also known as the S. W. Patton House, is a historic home located near Thompson, Alamance County, North Carolina. It was built about 1820, and is a two-story, frame hall-and-parlor plan, Federal style farmhouse. A rear wing was added in the late-19th century. Also on the property are the contributing small salt house, outhouse, and the roadbed of the Great (Indian) Trading Path.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1985.

William Cook House is a set of two historic homes located near Mebane, Alamance County, North Carolina. They are a one-story one-room log house, built about 1840, and a two-story frame I-house built about 1903. They are set close to and at a 90-degree angle to each other. The houses are connected by joined·hip roofed porches, carried by plain square posts. Also on the property are the contributing two-story, single-pen log barn, a log storage shed, a frame corn crib, and a substantial log wood shed.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1993.

Mebane ( MEB-un) is a city located mostly in Alamance County, North Carolina, United States, and partly in Orange County. The town was named for Alexander Mebane, an American Revolutionary War general and member of the U.S. Congress. It was incorporated as "Mebanesville" in 1881, and in 1883 the name was changed to "Mebane". It was incorporated as a city in 1987. The population as of the 2020 census was 17,768. Mebane is one of the fastest-growing municipalities in North Carolina. Mebane straddles the Research Triangle and Piedmont Triad Regions of North Carolina. The bulk of the city is in Alamance County, which comprises the Burlington Metropolitan Statistical Area, itself a component of the Greensboro-Winston-Salem-High Point Combined Statistical Area. Two slivers in the eastern portion of the city are in Orange County, which is part of the Durham-Chapel Hill Metropolitan Statistical Area, itself a component of the Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill Combined Statistical Area.

Kerr Scott Farm, also known as Melville, is a historic home and farm located near Haw River, Alamance County, North Carolina. The vernacular farmhouse was built in 1919, and consists of a 1 1/2-story, frame, center hall plan, hip-roofed main block, with a one-story frame gable-roofed ell built about 1860. The property includes a variety of contributing outbuildings including a farm office (c. 1920s), milk house (c. 1920s), woodshed (c. 1930s), dairy barns (1910, 1929 and 1941), equipment building / machine shop (1941), cow shed (c. 1940s), gas / oil house (c. 1940s), corn crib (1910), silos, and cow sheds. It was the home of North Carolina governor and United States Senator, W. Kerr Scott (1896-1958) and the birthplace of W. Kerr Scott's son, also a former North Carolina governor, Robert W. Scott.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1987.

Old South Mebane Historic District is a national historic district located at Mebane, Alamance County, North Carolina. It encompasses 308 contributing buildings in a primarily residential section of Mebane. The district primarily includes one- to two-story frame residences in a variety of vernacular and popular architectural styles including Colonial Revival, American Craftsman, and Queen Anne styles. The earliest dwellings date to about 1900.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2011, with a boundary increase in 2013.

Durham Hosiery Mill No. 15, also known as Mebane Yarn Mills, Inc. and Rockfish-Mebane Yarn Mills, Inc., is a historic hosiery mill building located at Mebane, Alamance County, North Carolina. It was built in 1922, and is a two-story, 20-bay, cast-in-place concrete mill building. Two-story concrete pilasters define each window bay. It features a centrally-placed, two-story, projecting square tower. A nine bay addition was built in 1966. The mill closed in 2001.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2010.

Mebane Commercial Historic District is a national historic district located at Mebane, Alamance County, North Carolina. It encompasses 30 contributing buildings, and 1 contributing structure in the central business district of Mebane. The district includes one and two-part commercial blocks of one to three stories in height, executed in the Colonial Revival and Neo-Classical styles. The earliest buildings date to about 1905. Notable buildings include two former banks (c. 1910, c. 1919), the Five Star Building (c. 1910), Mebane Enterprise Building (c. 1940), and Jones Department Store Building (c. 1910).It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2011.

Swepsonville is a town in Alamance County, North Carolina, United States. It is part of the Burlington, North Carolina Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population at the 2010 census was 1,154.
