Sint-Truiden (Dutch pronunciation: [sɪnˈtrœydə(n)] (listen); French: Saint-Trond [sɛ̃ tʁɔ̃]; Limburgish: Sintruin [sɪnˈtʀœyn]) is a city and municipality located in the province of Limburg, Flemish Region, Belgium, and has over 41,500 inhabitants, which makes it one of the largest cities in Limburg. The municipality includes the former communes (now deelgemeenten) of Aalst, Brustem, Duras, Engelmanshoven, Gelinden, Gorsem, Groot-Gelmen, Halmaal, Kerkom-bij-Sint-Truiden, Melveren, Metsteren, Ordingen, Runkelen, Velm, Wilderen, and Zepperen. The city is in the centre of Belgium's fruit-producing region, Haspengouw (Hesbaye), and is renowned for its pears, apples (Jonagold), and sweet cherries.

Sint-Truiden / Brustem Airfield (Dutch: Vliegveld Sint Truiden, ICAO: EBST) is an airfield located in Brustem, 1.5 nautical miles (2.8 km; 1.7 mi) southeast of Sint-Truiden (Limburg) and approximately 37 mi (60 km) east of Brussels. Formerly known as Sint-Truiden Air Base (Dutch: Luchtmachtbasis Sint-Truiden, French: Base Aérienne Saint-Trond) or Brustem Air Base (Dutch: Vliegbasis Brustem, French: Base aérienne de Brustem), the aerodrome was deactivated as a Belgian Air Component base in 1996.

Stayen is a football stadium in Sint-Truiden, Belgium. It is the home ground of STVV. The stadium holds 14,600 after its most recent rebuild.The original stadium was built in 1927. The name "Stayen" is a local dialect word for "Staden", an old quarter of the town on its western side. Between the 1950s and 2009 the word was normally written as "Staaien". One regularly applied soubriquet is "Hel van Stayen" ("Hell of Stayen"), used on behalf of top teams that suffer defeats in the stadium. The Stayen Hotel is built into the north side of the stadium: 20 of its rooms overlook the pitch. From February 2023, the Japanese company "Daio Wasabi Farm" acquired the naming rights of the stadium, and named it "Daio Wasabi Stayen Stadium". This is the first time in history for a Belgian league that a Japanese company has acquired the naming rights for a stadium.

Sint-Truiden Abbey or St Trudo's Abbey (Dutch: Abdij van Sint-Truiden, Abdij van Sint-Trudo; French: Abbaye de Saint-Trond) is a former Benedictine monastery in Sint-Truiden (named after Saint Trudo) in the province of Limburg, Belgium. The abbey was founded in the 7th century and was one of the oldest and most powerful in the Low Countries. The town of Sint-Truiden grew up around it. The great Romanesque abbey church, dedicated to Saint Remaclus and Saint Quintin, was demolished in 1798, four years after the suppression of the abbey.

Sint-Truiden railway station (Dutch: Station Sint-Truiden French: Gare de Saint-Trond) is a railway station in the town of Sint-Truiden, Limburg, Belgium. The station opened on 2 April 1838 and is located on line 21. The train services are operated by National Railway Company of Belgium (NMBS). Sint-Truiden used to be located on 23 (Drieslinter-Tongeren). The current station dates from the 1970s and replaced a building dating from 1882 which was demolished in 1975. In 2005, the station and its surrounding area was modernized. Extra bike parking was created.

Velm (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈvɛl(ə)m], Limburgish: Vallem [ˈvɑləm]) is one of the ancienne communes in the municipality of Sint-Truiden, Limburg province, Belgium. Velm is bounded in the east by the N80 motorway, leading to Namur, and in the west by the railroad from Sint-Truiden to Landen.

The Battle of Brustem was fought on 28 October 1467 in Brustem, near Sint-Truiden (present-day Belgium) between the Burgundian State and the Prince-Bishopric of Liège, as part of the Second Liège War.

Hasselbroek Castle (Dutch: Kasteel van Hasselbroek), also Hasselbrouck Castle (French: Château de Hasselbrouck) is a 17th-century country house in Hasselbroek, in Jeuk, a part of the municipality of Gingelom, province of Limburg, Belgium. The building was constructed in a U-shape. The right wing in Maasland Renaissance style dates from 1620. Architect Jacques Barthelemy Renoz, born in Liège (1729–1786) built the neoclassical wing main building in 1770. The left wing was for the use of dependencies. The castle was built by the Bormans van Hasselbroek family. Jean-Henri Bormans of Hasselblad Broek (1706–1774) undertook a variety of expansions and improvements. He was personal advisor to Prince-Bishop Franciscus Karel de Velbrück. Architect Jacques Barthelemy Renoz, born in Liège (1729–1786) built the neoclassical wing in 1770.

The N3 road in Belgium is a national road connecting the capital city Brussels to Aachen in Germany via Leuven, Tienen, Sint-Truiden and Liège. Its course is quite similar to that of European route E40 between Brussels and Aachen, which it intersects 3 times. The road runs through the 3 Belgian regions (Brussels, Flanders and Wallonia) and the 3 communities (Dutch-speaking, French-speaking and German-speaking). Starting at the small Brussels ring road crossroad Arts-Loi in the City of Brussels, the road is first named Rue de la Loi (direction Brussels centrum) or Rue Belliard (direction Aachen), then enters the Belliard tunnel under the Cinquantenaire park before it becomes the Avenue de Tervueren/Tervurenlaan past the Tervuren gate in Etterbeek. The Avenue de Tervueren then crosses the municipality of Woluwe-Saint-Pierre from the Montgomery Place, passes along the Woluwe and Parmentier parks before it joins the Chaussée de Tervueren/Tervuursesteenweg in Auderghem. Past this intersection, the N3 road comes back to Woluwe-Saint-Pierre where it crosses the Brussels Ring after which it leaves the region of Brussels for Flanders in Tervuren, Flemish Brabant. Before it arrives to Leuven where it joins the N2 road on the Leuven Ring, the road crosses highways E40 in Bertem and E314 in Heverlee, a borough of Leuven. Between Leuven and Tienen the N3 road runs parallel to the E40 and the railroad Leuven-Tienen. Arriving in Sint-Truiden, the road enters the province of Limburg and leaves it for the Walloon province of Liège at Oreye. It intersects the E40 highway again at Loncin and then runs through the city centre of Liège and crosses the river Meuse there. Going north-east the road intersects the E40 for the 3rd time in Soumagne. The N3 finally crosses 2 municipalities of the German-speaking community (Lontzen and Kelmis). From Kelmis the German city of Aachen can be joined via the German road B264. The N3 crosses or borders 31 municipalities in the country. 4 of them are in the Brussels Capital Region, 12 in Flemish Brabant, 2 in Limburg and 14 in Liège. Gingelom (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈɣɪŋəˌlɔm]) is a municipality located in the Belgian province of Limburg. On 1 January 2006 Gingelom had a total population of 7,847. The total area is 56.49 km2 (21.81 sq mi) which gives a population density of 139 inhabitants per km2 (359/sq mi). The municipality includes the old municipalities of Borlo, Buvingen, Jeuk, Montenaken, Niel-bij-Sint-Truiden, Mielen boven Aalst, Muizen, Boekhout, Vorsen and Kortijs.

The Château de Duras (Castle of Duras) in Duras, a half hour walk to the north of Sint-Truiden in Belgium, is built in the Classical style . This Belgian castle was built between 1787 and 1789 and is located in a beautiful area. The castle was built on the location of the original castle of the Counts of Duras, which was built in 1102. It was Otto of Looz, count of Duras and “sous-avoué” of Sint-Truiden, who by his marriage to Ode, the only daughter and heiress of Giselbert, count of Duras, adopted the name and the coat of arms of the counts of Duras and ordered to build the castle in that year. One of his two sons, named Giselbert in honor of his maternal grandfather, married the daughter and heiress of Conon, count of Montaigu and Clermont, and of Ide, the sister of the famous Godfrey of Bouillon, the first king of Jerusalem.The castle grounds cover an area of more than 100 ha, consisting of woods, meadows, fields and orchards. It also includes a watermill and a farm. It is now a protected monument.
