Holditch Colliery disaster

Holditch was a ward in the Borough of Newcastle-under-Lyme, in the county of Staffordshire, England. It covered the suburbs of Broad Meadow, and Beasley. The population of the ward at the 2011 census was 4,694.

It had a capacity of 5,000. The stadium was constructed in the early 1970s and hosted greyhound racing until 2003, and speedway and stock cars until its closure at the end of the 2019 season.

Chesterton Community Sports College is a coeducational secondary school and specialist sports college located in the Chesterton area of Newcastle-under-Lyme, Staffordshire, England. Feeder schools include Chesterton Primary, Crackley Bank, Churchfields Primary and St. Chads'. In 2006 they introduced music and drama into the curriculum. The school also has a full-time music teacher and a full-time drama teacher. CCSC has recently gained their best GCSE Results yet. Previously a community school administered by Staffordshire County Council, in December 2013 Chesterton Community Sports College converted to academy status. The school is now sponsored by the Collective Vision Trust.

Wolstanton United Urban District was an urban district in the county of Staffordshire. It was formed in 1904 with the civil parishes of Chesterton, Silverdale and Wolstanton. It was abolished in 1932, when it was absorbed into the Newcastle-under-Lyme Municipal Borough.

Knutton and Silverdale was a ward in the Borough of Newcastle-under-Lyme, in the county of Staffordshire, England. It covered the area of Knutton and the north east end of Silverdale. In 2011 it had a population of 4313.

Knutton Halt railway station is a disused railway station in Staffordshire, England. Situated on the North Staffordshire Railway (NSR) Stoke to Market Drayton Line, this halt was opened in 1905 when the NSR introduced a railmotor service between Silverdale and Trentham as a response to competition from tram companies. Situated between Knutton village and Knutton Forge, the station was not much used and was an early closure under London, Midland and Scottish railway ownership, closing in September 1926.
