Billericay railway station

Billericay ( (listen) BIL-ə-RIK-ee) is a town and civil parish in the Basildon district, Essex, England. It lies within the London Basin and constitutes a commuter town 25 miles (40 kilometres) east of Central London. The town has three secondary schools and a variety of open spaces. It is thought to have been occupied since the Bronze Age.

The Cater Museum is a small local museum in Billericay, in the English county of Essex. The museum was established by Alice May Cater, in honour of her late husband William Alexander Cater who was a local antiquarian. It was opened to the public on 7 May 1960. The museum is a registered charity and is located at 74 High Street, Billericay. It lies within a Grade II listed, 18th-century, red-brick-fronted building.The museum stores numerous local artefacts over three floors, including information on local families and buildings. Amongst the artefacts are: reports of the Zeppelin that was downed in the area during World War I; the remains of a three-headed lamb born in the area; and the door of the house once owned by Christopher Martin, who was a passenger aboard the Mayflower.In 2002, a Victorian kitchen garden was opened at the rear of the museum where a number of Elizabethan herbs were planted. In 2008, the museum received £41,000 of National Lottery funding to carry out renovation of the rear of the building to restore it to its original 18th-century character. While this renovation was being carried out, a number of artefacts were discovered in the garden, some dating from around the 1860s. Items included Victorian pipes, ginger beer jars and medicine bottles; many of these were added to the museum's collection.

The Old Town Hall is a municipal building in the High Street, Billericay, Essex, England. The structure, which currently operates as a restaurant, was the meeting place of Billericay Urban District Council.

Lake Meadows is a park in Billericay, Essex, England. It is the site of many local events, including Billericay Fireworks and small-scale concerts. The Billericay fireworks are the largest firework display in Essex. As a concert venue, Lake Meadows has a capacity of 5,000. There is 40 acres of parkland, fishing lakes and golf apparatus as well as a cafe, which is open from April to October. The Friends of Lake Meadows are a voluntary organisation working with Basildon Council, Billericay Town Council and the Billericay community to promote public interest in the mark and help maintain it.

St John's School is an independent school in Billericay, Essex for students aged 3–16. The school is split into Kindergarten, Junior and Senior School.

Mill Meadows, Billericay is a 6.7-hectare (17-acre) biological Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) in Billericay in Essex, England. It is part of the 36.8 hectare Mill Meadows Local Nature Reserve (LNR), which is owned and managed by Basildon District Council.The SSSI is composed of five sloping fields separated by old hedge lines, on London clay. Some areas are wet, and the main grasses are red fescue and common bent. Flowers include harebell and common spotted orchid. The LNR also has scrub and woodland, with mammals including badgers, stoats and foxes, and many bird species.There is access from Greens Farm Lane.

The Billericay School is an academy secondary school and sixth form college located in Billericay, England. The school is led by headmaster Patrick Berry and has an enrollment of 1713. As part of the Billericay Education Consortium the school forms part of a grouping considered to provide the best teacher training in the country according to the Good Teacher Training Guide. According to Ofsted the school is "an over-subscribed Mathematics and Computing specialist school mainly serving the town of Billericay but also drawing students from Basildon and nearby areas". In its most recent Ofsted inspection in 2018, the school was graded as 'good'.

Mayflower High School, founded in 1965, and named after the Mayflower ship, is a coeducational, secondary school located in Billericay, Essex in the East of England in the United Kingdom. The school has a mixed intake of pupils aged 11–18 (School years 7 to 13) and is an academy. As of June 2006 the number of enrolled pupils was 1,418. Mayflower has specialisms in science and mathematics as well as languages.

Norsey Wood is a 67.2-hectare (166-acre) biological Site of Special Scientific Interest in Billericay, Essex. It is also a Local Nature Reserve and a Scheduled Monument.The site is ancient oak woodland on acid soil which has been converted to mixed sweet chestnut coppice. Bluebell, bracken and bramble are dominant on the ground layer, but there are sphagnum mosses (sphagnum palustre and Sphagnum cuspidatum) in acidic flushes, and the rare water violet in one of the four ponds. There are nine species of dragonfly. Archaeolocal features include a Bronze Age bowl barrow, Iron Age and Roman cemeteries, and a medieval deer bank.Norsey Wood is the likely site of the Battle of Billericay during the Peasants' Revolt of 1381, a battle the peasants lost. There is a Forest nursery school based on the outside of the woods with access to the woods for the children, toilets, a car park and a trail. There is access from Outwood Common Road, Break Egg Hill, Norsey Close, Deerbank and Norsey Road.

Hutton Football Club is a football club based in Hutton, England. They are currently members of the Eastern Counties League Division One South and play at New Lodge, Billericay, groundsharing with Billericay Town.

Billericay Town Football Club is a football club based in Billericay, Essex, England. The club are currently members of the Isthmian League Premier Division, the seventh tier of English football, and play at New Lodge. They are the second most successful club in FA Vase history, having won the competition on three occasions.

Toby Howe Cricket Ground is a cricket ground in Billericay, Essex. The first recorded match on the ground was in 1999, when Billericay Cricket Club played Wanstead Cricket Club in the 1999 Essex Premier League.In 2000, the ground held a single List-A match between the Essex Cricket Board and Warwickshire in the 3rd round of the 2000 NatWest Trophy.The ground has also held 21 Second XI fixtures between 1999 and present for the Essex Second XI in the Second XI Championship and Second XI Trophy.In local domestic cricket, the ground is still the home venue of Billericay Cricket Club.
