The Varbola Stronghold (Latin: Castrum Warbole, Estonian: Varbola Jaanilinn) was the largest circular rampart fortress and trading centre built in Estonia, in Harju County (Latin: Harria) in the 10th – 12th centuries. Parts of the ruins of the 580-metre (1,900 ft) long and 8-to-10-metre (26 to 33 ft) high limestone wall of the fortress stand to this day. The long gateways with multiple gates were built to defend the entrances. In these sections higher defensive towers were erected. There was a 13-metre (43 ft) deep well in the middle of the fortress and the territory held about 90 structures with furnaces for accommodation built with limestone floors and foundations.

Pajaka is a village in Märjamaa Parish, Rapla County in western Estonia. Pajaka has a population of 48 according to the 2021 population census.

Vardi Nature Reserve is a nature reserve in Rapla County in central Estonia. Vardi nature reserve encompasses one of the few remaining alvar forests in Estonia, an unusual landscape type today as cut-down forests normally never recover. The soil in Vardi layer reaches only a maximum of 30 centimetres (12 in), creating a sensitive biotope dominated by pine, juniper, rowan, honeysuckle and a few other species.

The municipality had a population of 2,077 (as of 1 January 2009) and covered an area of 174.65 km². The population density was 11.9 inhabitants per km².There were 17 villages in Kernu Parish: Allika, Haiba, Hingu, Kaasiku, Kabila, Kernu, Kibuna, Kirikla, Kohatu, Kustja, Laitse, Metsanurga, Mõnuste, Muusika, Pohla, Ruila, Vansi.

Pajaka Landscape Conservation Area is a nature park which is located in Rapla County, Estonia.The area of the nature park is 202 ha.The protected area was founded in 1958 to protect oak-spruce mixed forest at Hiie Farmstead (Märjamaa Parish). In 2006, the protected area was designated to the landscape conservation area.
