Woodlawn Preserve

Woodlawn is a neighborhood of Schenectady, New York, United States, which occupies the entire southeastern section of that city. The neighborhood developed as a suburb of the city of Schenectady in the first two decades of the 20th century and was annexed to the city in 1923. Consisting of mostly single family detached houses it is only one of three neighborhoods in Schenectady to post an increase in population during the 1990s; Woodlawn's median population is also the oldest of Schenectady's neighborhoods.

Notre Dame-Bishop Gibbons High School is a private, Roman Catholic middle and high school in Schenectady, New York. It is located within the Roman Catholic Diocese of Albany. Enrollment for the 2021–2022 school year was 201 students. The 2021-2022 tuition was $7,583 (grade 6), $8,058 (7-8), and $8,658 (9-12).

Crosstown Plaza is a large strip mall in Schenectady, NY (at the Rotterdam-Schenectady line) along Watt Street and NY State Route 7 near the I-890 entrance. As of January, 1991, the strip mall consisted of 183,500 square feet (17,050 square meters). By August, 1995, it was 193,500 square feet (17,980 square meters).

Mohawk Mall was an enclosed shopping mall in the town of Niskayuna, New York, on a 50-acre (200,000 m2) parcel located at the corner of State Street and Balltown Road. It was managed by Genesee Management. It had three courts with groups of fountains and seating areas. The mall was first opened in 1970 and mostly demolished in 2000, with its last remaining section demolished in 2002. The property has been redeveloped into Mohawk Commons, a lifestyle center.

Brown School is a private, nondenominational school for students in nursery through twelfth grade in Schenectady, New York, USA.

The Aerodrome was a nightclub located at 1588 State Street in Schenectady, New York. The Aerodrome was established in 1967 by Jack Rubin of Chicago. The building was originally a 32-lane bowling alley named 'Woodlawn Lanes', which was converted by Rubin into a music venue. Its capacity was approximately 3,000 people. Several famous rock bands and musicians performed at the Aerodrome, including Led Zeppelin, Janis Joplin, Billy Joel, B.J. Thomas, The Electric Prunes, Vanilla Fudge, Three Dog Night, Jeff Beck Group (featuring a young Rod Stewart and Ronnie Wood), Chicago, The Yardbirds, BB King, and many more bands from that era. Because of ill-health, Rubin closed the Aerodrome in 1972, and it was demolished. The building was badly damaged from the vibration caused by the noise of the loud music. Mohawk Commons is a lifestyle center in Niskayuna, New York. It opened in 2002 and replaced the older enclosed Mohawk Mall previously located on the property.

Lisha Kill is a hamlet in the town of Colonie, Albany County, New York, United States. Lisha Kill lies on New York Route 5 (Central Avenue) in the western section of the town. The hamlet received its name from the creek of the same name, Lisha Kill, kill being Dutch for creek or stream. The stream is also referred to as Lisha's Kill and received its name from a local legend about a Native American woman who is buried along its banks.

George Westinghouse Jones House, also known by the Welsh name of Caermarthen, is a historic home located in the Town of Niskayuna in Schenectady County, New York. It was built about 1900 and designed by the architectural firm of Rutan and Russell. It is a rambling, 2+1⁄2-story gable-roofed frame residence in the Shingle Style. it features a high stone foundation, steeply pitched gable roof, a wraparound verandah, hipped roof dormers, and five tall brick chimneys. Its original owner was George Westinghouse Jones, who was a cousin of industrialist George Westinghouse and business administrator for the firm's Schenectady interests.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2004.

Brandywine Avenue School was a historic school located at Schenectady in Schenectady County, New York. It was built in 1904 and was a 3+1⁄2-story, red brick "U" shaped institutional building in the Classical Revival style. It sat on a basement of rock-faced limestone and had a hipped roof. It operated as a teacher training facility from 1910 to 1925 and ceased being used as a school in 1974. From 1975 to 1996, it housed Schenectady City School District administrative offices and records storage.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1999.It was destroyed by a fire in November 2007.

Fort Hunter is a hamlet in the town of Guilderland, Albany County, New York, United States. Fort Hunter lies along New York Route 146 near the Albany-Schenectady county line. Exit 25 of the Governor Thomas E. Dewey Thruway and exit 9B of Interstate 890 is at the northern limits of the hamlet.

The Schenectady City School District is a public city school district in the city of Schenectady in Schenectady County, New York. The district has 17 operating school buildings and is a component district of the Capital Region Boards of Cooperative Educational Services (BOCES). It was established in 1854 and served 9,256 students in pre-kindergarten through twelfth grade in the 2018–2019 school year.As of 2008-2009, the district employed 728.8 (on an FTE basis) faculty members and the student-to-teacher ratio was 13.1. As of 2009, the district had the largest population of any school district in the Capital District.
