Longleat Safari and Adventure Park

Dunkerton Colliery Halt railway station served the colliery near the village of Dunkerton, Somerset, England from 1911 to 1925 on the Bristol and North Somerset Railway.

Longleat is an English stately home and the seat of the Marquesses of Bath. A leading and early example of the Elizabethan prodigy house, it is adjacent to the village of Horningsham and near the towns of Warminster and Westbury in Wiltshire, and Frome in Somerset. The Grade I listed house is set in 1,000 acres (400 ha) of parkland landscaped by Capability Brown, with 4,000 acres (1,600 ha) of let farmland and 4,000 acres (1,600 ha) of woodland, which includes a Center Parcs holiday village. It was the first stately home to open to the public, and the Longleat estate has the first safari park outside Africa and other attractions including a hedge maze. The house was built by Sir John Thynne and designed mainly by Robert Smythson, after Longleat Priory was destroyed by fire in 1567. It took 12 years to complete and is widely regarded as one of the finest examples of Elizabethan architecture in Britain. It continues to be the seat of the Thynn family, who have held the title of Marquess of Bath since 1789; the eighth and present Marquess is Ceawlin Thynn.

Longleat Priory was a priory near Warminster, Wiltshire, in the south of England. A short-lived priory was established and dissolved near to Longleat in the 12th century. The main priory was established before 1233 and was under the control of the Dean of Salisbury until its dissolution in 1529. The site is currently occupied by Longleat House.

The Church of St Mary at Temple, Corsley, Wiltshire, England is a chapel-of-ease dating from the very early 20th century. It was commissioned and paid for by Mary Barton, of Corsley House, in memory of her husband and son. Designed in the Arts and Crafts style, the church is now in the care of the Friends of Friendless Churches. It is a Grade II listed building.

Horningsham is a small village and civil parish in Wiltshire, England, on the county border with Somerset. The village lies about 4 miles (6 km) southwest of the town of Warminster and 4+1⁄2 miles (7 km) southeast of Frome, Somerset. The parish forms part of the Longleat estate and includes the hamlets of Hitcombe Bottom and Newbury.

Roddenbury Hillfort is a univallate Iron Age hillfort in the parish of Selwood, Somerset, England. It is a Scheduled Monument and it was on the Heritage at Risk Register in 2011. In 2012 it was announced that it was to undergo major repairs following damage by off road biking. It is close to the later Hales Castle. The site covers 0.84 hectares (2.1 acres). It some places the protective bank has been destroyed. In others it remains up to 1.6 metres (5.2 ft) high and has a 1.8 metres (5.9 ft) ditch below it.

Cley Hill (grid reference ST838449) is a prominent hill to the west of Warminster in Wiltshire, England. Its summit has a commanding view of the Wiltshire / Somerset county boundary, at 244 metres (801 ft) elevation. The land is in Corsley parish and is owned by the National Trust. A 26.6-hectare (66-acre) area of chalk grassland at Cley Hill was notified as a biological Site of Special Scientific Interest in 1975. The land is managed by the National Trust, having been donated to the charity in 1954 by the 6th Marquess of Bath.Archaeological features include a large univallate Iron Age hill fort, two bowl barrows and medieval strip lynchets. There is a legend that the hill was formed by the devil, when he dropped a sack of earth with which he had planned to bury the town of Devizes. He had retrieved the earth from Somerset and was travelling to Devizes when he stopped to ask an old man the distance to the town. The man replied that he had been walking for years to reach Devizes, so the devil abandoned his plan.

Hales Castle was a medieval castle that once stood overlooking the town of Frome in the Mendip district of Somerset, England. It has been scheduled as an ancient monument.

Corsley is a hamlet and civil parish 3 miles (5 km) west of Warminster in Wiltshire, England. The parish is on the county border with Somerset; the Somerset town of Frome is about 3 miles (5 km) to the northwest. The largest settlement in the parish is Corsley Heath, which is on the A362 Warminster-Frome road. The parish has several small settlements. Lye's Green is between Corsley and Corsley Heath (not to be confused with Lye Green, in Westwood parish near Bradford on Avon). Lane End is west of Corsley Heath on the A362, while the small hamlet of Sturford is to the east. South of the main road are Dertfords, Longhedge, Whitbourne Moor (formerly Lower Whitbourne), Temple (formerly Middle Whitbourne) and Whitbourne Springs (formerly Upper Whitbourne).Much of the parish was originally part of the Longleat Estate and part of the Longleat Safari Park lies within the parish boundary. Cley Hill, owned by the National Trust, is in the east of the parish.

St Margaret's, Corsley, is the Church of England parish church of Corsley in Wiltshire, England. In 1968 the church was designated as Grade II listed.The church was built in 1833 by John Leachman on the site of an earlier church. The previous church had been dedicated to St James from the 16th to 18th century. The new building has a simple plan: a wide nave without aisles, a chancel under the same roof of Welsh slate, and a west tower. Its design and layout are similar to another of Leachman's churches in Wiltshire, Christ Church, Warminster; while Christ Church has been repeatedly extended and altered throughout its history, St Margaret's is substantially unaltered and thus remains close to Leachman's original plans. There is a west gallery on four cast iron pillars and the Royal Arms of George III. The tower has six bells, of which three are 18th-century. A clock was added to the four-stage tower around 1885.There was a parson at Corsley in the mid-13th century. At first the church was subordinate to the parish church of St Denys at Warminster, some 2+1⁄2 miles (4.0 km) to the southeast, but by 1415 Corsley was an independent parish. The church was dedicated to St James in or before the 16th century, and the first record of dedication to St Margaret of Antioch is from 1786. Furnishings which survive from the earlier church are the pulpit (c. 1700), painted benefaction boards and several monuments.Since 2007, Corsley parish (including a 1903 chapel of ease, St Mary's Church at Temple) has formed part of the Cley Hill benefice.

Longleat Woods (grid reference ST795435) is a 249.9 hectare (617.4 acre) biological Site of Special Scientific Interest south of Frome in Somerset, notified in 1972. This site includes the Ashen Copse Nature Conservation Review site. This site is a large, ancient, semi-natural, broadleaved woodland with a predominantly high forest structure which is unusual in South West Britain. Over the majority of the site, where soils are poorly drained but not waterlogged, the major canopy-forming tree is pedunculate oak (Quercus robur), with ash (Fraxinus excelsior) being locally common and distributed throughout. Hazel (Corylus avellana) is the commonest shrub and occurs throughout. Many plant species normally found only in ancient woodlands occur, including broad-leaved helleborine (Epipactis helleborine) and wood small-reed (Calamagrostis epigejos). One of the largest plantations of coast redwoods (sequoia sempervirens) in Britain is also located here, mostly within the grounds of Center Parcs Longleat. These grounds are also home to the U.K.'s tallest giant redwood (sequoiadendron giganteum).The breeding bird community includes woodcock (Scolopax rusticola), tree pipit (Anthus trivialis), wood warbler (Phylloscopus sibilatrix), common redstart (Phoenicurus phoenicurus), common buzzard (Buteo buteo), tawny owl (Strix aluco), greater spotted woodpecker (Dendrocopos major), lesser spotted woodpecker (Dendrocopos minor) and European green woodpecker (Picus viridis). The breeding invertebrates include white admiral (Ladoga camilla), silver-washed fritillary (Argynnis paphia) and small pearl-bordered fritillary (Boloria selene) butterflies and hornets (Vespa crabro).

Maiden Bradley Priory was a priory in Wiltshire, England. It was founded as a leper colony in 1164, and in 1189 was handed over to the Augustinian order. It was dissolved in 1536.
