Crown Mines

The Botallack Mine (Cornish: Bostalek) is a former mine in Botallack in the west of Cornwall, UK. Since 2006 it has been part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site – Cornwall and West Devon Mining Landscape. The mine is within the Aire Point to Carrick Du Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) and the South West Coast Path passes along the cliff.

Botallack Manor was built in the 17th century. The house is featured in the BBC television series Poldark, and is a Grade II* listed building situated in St Just, Cornwall.

Wheal Owles was a tin mine in the parish of St Just in Cornwall, UK and the site of a disaster in 1893 when twenty miners lost their lives. Since 2006 it has been part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site – Cornwall and West Devon Mining Landscape. Levant Mine and Beam Engine is a National Trust property at Trewellard, Pendeen, near St Just, Cornwall, England, UK. Its main attraction is that it has the world's only Cornish beam engine still operated by steam on its original site. There is also a visitor centre, a short underground tour, and the South West Coast Path leads to Botallack Mine, via a cliff-top footpath.In 1919 the engine used to transport men between the different levels of the mine failed, leading to the deaths of thirty-one men. Since 2006, the area has been part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site, Cornwall and West Devon Mining Landscape.

The original 1970s BBC television series Poldark was filmed partly in Botallack, using Manor Farm as Nampara. The Manor House, part of the Tregothnan estate, is a Grade II* listed building, dating from the 17th century.Lae Maen Veor (Cornish: Legh Men Veur meaning great stone ledge), or Botallack Head, is a headland to the north west of Botallack. The local community radio station is Coast FM (formerly Penwith Radio), which broadcasts on 96.5 and 97.2 FM.

Kenidjack Valley (Cornish: Keunyjek, meaning place abounding in firewood), sometimes referred to as Nancherrow Valley (Cornish: Nanj Erow, meaning acre valley), is a steep-sided valley in Cornwall, United Kingdom. The Tregeseal River flows down the valley and discharges into the Atlantic a few hundred yards north of Cape Cornwall 50.130°N 5.703°W / 50.130; -5.703, half-a-mile north-east of the village of St Just. The valley was an important area of tin mining and the remains of Wheal Owles, Wheal Castle, Boswedden Mine and the Kenidjack arsenic works are still visible. The shallow adit from the Wheal Boys lode to the valley probably dates before 1670. Gunpowder, for blasting mines in Cornwall, was introduced to Cornwall shortly after 1670, and the shallow adit does not show any evidence of blasting.Today the valley is popular for hiking and birdwatching.

It is approximately one mile (1.6 km) south of Pendeen and six miles (10 km) northwest of Penzance. It is in the civil parish of St Just in Penwith It lies along the B3306 road which connects St Ives to the A30 road near Land's End Carnyorth lies within the Cornwall Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) and the electoral division of St Just in Penwith. Almost a third of Cornwall has AONB designation, with the same status and protection as a National Park.

Trewellard (from Cornish: Trewylard, meaning "Gwylard's settlement"; grid reference SW376337) is a small village on the north coast road between St Just and St Ives in Cornwall, England, United Kingdom. It lies along the B3306 road which connects St Ives to the A30 road. It is situated 7 miles from Land's End and 7 miles from Penzance. It is in the civil parish of St Just and the electoral division of St Just in Penwith. Trewellard lies within the Cornwall Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB). Almost a third of Cornwall has AONB designation, with the same status and protection as a National Park.

Geevor Tin Mine (from Cornish: Whel an Gever, meaning "mine of the goats"), formerly North Levant Mine is a tin mine in the far west of Cornwall, England, between the villages of Pendeen and Trewellard. It was operational between 1911 and 1990 during which time it produced about 50,000 tons of black tin. It is now a museum and heritage centre left as a living history of a working tin mine. The museum is an Anchor Point of ERIH, The European Route of Industrial Heritage. Since 2006, the mine has been part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site Cornwall and West Devon Mining Landscape.

Tregeseal (from Cornish: Tregasyel, meaning "Catihael's settlement") is a hamlet in a valley 0.72 miles (1.16 km) northeast of the town of St Just, Cornwall, UK and is within the parish of St Just. Nearby is Tregeseal East stone circle grid reference SW 38236 31869. Tregeseal lies within the Cornwall Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB); almost a third of Cornwall has AONB designation, with the same status and protection as a National Park.

Cape Cornwall School is a coeducational secondary school located in St Just in Penwith, Cornwall, England. As of January 2022, the school had 270 pupils aged 11 to 16 years. The Head Teacher is Jon Hall.
