Silver Lake or Kitts Pond is a lake at Wakefield in Washington County, Rhode Island, United States. It is considered part of the Saugatucket River watershed, although it does not discharge into the Saugatucket River itself.

Kenyon's Department Store is an historic department store building in the village of Wakefield in the town of South Kingstown, Rhode Island. The historic Chicago style/Queen Anne style store was built in 1891 by Charles Chase and Harry Lewis. Kenyon's Department Store was located in "Wakefield, a village that began when William Kenyon bought 100 acres (40 ha) and donated the dirt streets." The original department store business was founded in 1856. The 1891 store building was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1992. Kenyon's Department Store closed in 1996 when the last descendant retired, and the owner donated the building to South County Hospital to maintain as a medical supply store.

Wakefield is a village in the town of South Kingstown, Rhode Island, United States, and the commercial center of South Kingstown. Together with the village of Peace Dale, it is treated by the U.S. Census as a component of the census-designated place identified as Wakefield-Peacedale, Rhode Island. West Kingston, another South Kingstown village, was the traditional county seat of Washington County. Since 1991, the Washington County Courthouse has been in Wakefield. The Sheriff's Office which handles corrections is also in Wakefield. The Wakefield village center along Main Street (old Boston Post Road) between Belmont Avenue and Columbia Street was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1996 as Wakefield Historic District, with boundary increases in 2019 and 2022. The district is significant for being an early commercial and industrial center. The district includes 53 properties over an area of 400 acres (160 ha).

The Contemporary Theater Company (CTC) is a 501(c)3 non-profit theater company based in South Kingstown, Rhode Island. Founded by Artistic Director Christopher J. Simpson in 2005, the company presents a range of plays throughout South County with an emphasis on reaching first-time theatergoers. The company presents an annual holiday show at the historic waterfront Towers in Narragansett and produces an annual 24-Hour Play Festival at the South Kingstown High School. The company presents theater, classes and public events at a theater at 327 Main Street in historic downtown Wakefield that opened in July 2012.

The Shadow Farm is an historic former gentleman's farm complex on Shadow Farm Way in South Kingstown, Rhode Island. The complex was established in 1869, and consists of a large manor house, built in 1884 and substantially enlarged and altered in 1904, which was converted into a multi-unit residence in the 1980s. The house stands near the center of the estate, overlooking Silver Lake, and is now largely surrounded by a condominium development. A group of outbuildings, consisting of a carriage house, staff quarters, and stable forming a courtyard, and a second carriage house and corn crib stand at the western edge of the estate, now separated from the main house by condominium buildings. The estate was one of the finest ever built in South Kingstown. The property was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986.

Wakefield-Peacedale (listed as "Wakefield-Peace Dale" by the United States Census Bureau) is a census-designated place (CDP) in the town of South Kingstown in Washington County, Rhode Island, United States that includes the villages of Peace Dale and Wakefield. The population was 8,487 at the 2010 census.

The William Davis Miller House also known as the Wakefield Mansion is a historic estate in the Wakefield village of South Kingstown, Rhode Island. The estate consists of 10.7 acres (4.3 ha) of land, on which stand a substantial house, garage and water tank, all built in the mid-1930s. The property was designed by Providence architect Albert Harkness and built for William Davis Miller and Mary (Chew) Miller. Miller was a social and civic force in Providence, serving as a trustee of Brown University, the Providence Public Libraries, and as president of the Rhode Island Historical Society, and was a longtime friend of Harkness. The Colonial Revival estate Harkness designed for the Millers typifies the type of country estates that were built in Rhode Island in the period.The estate was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985.The property was placed for sale in 2012, at which time the address was listed as 571 Main Street.In 2014, a proposal was brought to the South Kingstown Planning Board to convert the Miller property, along with other adjacent properties, to a 48-unit multi-household development. The redevelopment proposal was denied in October 2014.The property is currently owned by Roland J. Fiore, owner of South County Sand and Gravel.

South Kingstown High School (SKHS), originally known as the Wakefield High School is a public high school located in South Kingstown, Rhode Island. Approximately 931 students attend South Kingstown High School in grades 9–12. South Kingstown High School is ranked 6th in the state of Rhode Island with an Advanced Placement (AP) participation rate of 54%. The school was established in 1880 and has changed buildings three times.

Peace Dale (also spelled Peacedale) is a village in the town of South Kingstown, Rhode Island. Together with the village of Wakefield, it is treated by the U.S. Census as a component of the census-designated place identified as Wakefield-Peacedale, Rhode Island. The Peace Dale Historic District was listed on the National Register of Historic Places as a historic district in 1987. The historic district is roughly bounded by Kersey Rd., Oakwoods Dr., Kingstown Rd., School, Church and Railroad Sts., and contains the historic core of the village.

WNPE (102.7 FM) is a public radio station, providing programming from The Public's Radio (formerly known as Rhode Island Public Radio) to southern Rhode Island from its transmitter at Narragansett Pier. It was the first FM transmitter in the network. Prior to operating noncommercially, the 102.7 facility was a commercial radio station from its sign-on in 1990 to 2007.

Narragansett High School is a public high school in Narragansett, Rhode Island. As of 2015, Narragansett High School serves 477 students in grades 9–12. Narragansett High School's mascot is a Mariner. The mascot's name is Murdock the Mariner.

Jonathan Island is a privately owned island in Point Judith Pond in Narragansett, Rhode Island, United States. It is 2.79 acres-wide. As of 2012, it is the world's fourth most expensive island. It is owned by Ben and Diane Franford.
