The old Trenton Church of Christ is an historic one-story Church of Christ church building located on the southeast corner of South Main Street and Southeast 1st Avenue, just south of the Gilchrist County Courthouse, in Trenton, Gilchrist County, Florida. It was built in 1920 of "Florida field limestone, rubble masonry, with brick quoins at openings, arched windows, triple-arched entry porch," etc. Additions have been made to the rear and to the south. In 1989, the building was listed in A Guide to Florida's Historic Architecture, published by the University of Florida Press.The congregation of the Trenton Church of Christ now meets at 502 Northeast 7th Street. This historic church building has been adapted for use for meetings of the Gilchrist County Board of County Commissioners.

Trenton is a historic train station in Trenton, Florida. It was built in 1905 as a stop on the Atlantic Coast Line Railroad line from Newberry to Wilcox and on to Cross City.In 1989, the Trenton Depot was listed in A Guide to Florida's Historic Architecture, published by the University of Florida Press.In 2004, the Florida West Coast Railroad, which then operated the line through Trenton, was allowed to abandon all of its lines except for a short section leading west from Newberry. Fanning Springs State Park

Fanning Springs State Park is a Florida State Park, located on US 19/98 in the town of Fanning Springs. It contains one of the state's 33 first magnitude springs. As of 2008, decreased water emission levels at the springs technically requalify the first magnitude status as "historical first magnitude." The original occupants of the land were native aborigines, "paleo-Indian people", beginning 14,000 years ago, and several of sites previously occupied by them have been located within the park. The area has been used for recreation, and in 1993 the state acquired the park. The Florida Department of Environmental Protection took over care of the park in 1997.The Nature Coast State Trail, which follows abandoned railway lines, has a junction at Fanning Springs near the state park.

Lynching of Albert Williams

Albert Williams was an African-American man who was lynched by a mob in Chiefland, Florida, on July 21, 1927.John R. Steelman, who wrote his PhD dissertation on "mob action in the South", listed Albert Williams, and cited a local newspaper: "Albert Williams, charged with assault on a turpentine operator, was shot to death by a mob. The trouble is said to have arisen over a debt which Williams owed the white man."
