Museum of Warsaw

Warsaw's Old Town Market Place (Polish: Rynek Starego Miasta) is the center and oldest part of the Old Town of Warsaw, capital of Poland. Immediately after the Warsaw Uprising, it was systematically blown up by the German Army. After World War II, the Old Town Market Place was restored to its prewar appearance.

The Adam Mickiewicz Museum of Literature (Polish: Muzeum Literatury im. Adama Mickiewicza w Warszawie) is a museum named for noted Polish poet and essayist Adam Mickiewicz in Warsaw, Poland. It was established in 1950. The museum contains manuscripts and historical artefacts connected with Mickiewicz and also has some exhibits which are related to other major Polish writers.

Muzeum Farmacji im. Antoniny Leśniewskiej w Warszawie is a museum of pharmacy in Warsaw, Poland. It was established in 1985. Exhibits include original pharmaceutical laboratory equipment from the 1930s. There are also displays covering the history of Warsaw pharmacies. There are over 2,500 antiquities on display at the museum.

The Warsaw Voivodeship, between 1975 and 1990 known as the Warsaw Capital Voivodeship, was a voivodeship (province) of the Polish People's Republic from 1975 to 1989, and the Third Republic of Poland from 1989 to 1998. Its capital was Warsaw, and it was located in the central Masovia. It was established on 1 June 1975, from the part of the Warsaw Voivodeship, and an city voivodeship of Warsaw, and existed until 31 December 1998, when it was incorporated into then-established Masovian Voivodeship.

Warsaw Voivodeship (Polish: województwo warszawskie) was a voivodeship of Poland in the years 1919–1939. Its capital and biggest city was Warsaw.

The Warsaw Barbican (Polish: barbakan warszawski) is a barbican (semicircular fortified outpost) in Warsaw, Poland, and one of few remaining relics of the complex network of historic fortifications that once encircled Warsaw. Located between the Old and New Towns, it is a major tourist attraction.

Stara Prochownia (English: The Old Gunpowder Depot) also known as the Bridge Gate (Polish: Brama Mostowa) is a historic building in Warsaw New Town. It is located on ulica Boleść, just below the New Town and the Warsaw Barbican, on the Vistula River escarpment.

The Jesuit Church (Polish: Kościół Jezuitów), also known as Church of the Gracious Mother of God (Kościół Matki Bożej Łaskawej), is an ornate church within the Old Town precinct in Warsaw, Poland. The temple stands on Świętojańska Street, adjacent to St John's Cathedral, and is one of the most notable mannerist-style churches in Warsaw.

St. Martin's Church (Polish: Kościół św. Marcina) is a church in Warsaw, Poland. It is located on ulica Piwna ("Beer Street") in the Polish capital's Old Town.

Jan Kiliński Monument (Polish: Pomnik Jana Kilińskiego) is a monument in Warsaw, Poland, located on Podwale Street, next to the intersection with Piekarska Street, in the Old Town neighbourhood of the Downtown district. The 8-metre-tall monument consists of a 4-metre-tall bronze statue of Jan Kiliński, a 19th-century artisan, politician, and rebel, who was a colonel in the insurgents forces during the Kościuszko Uprising, placed on a granite pedestal. It was designed by Stanisław Jackowski, and unveiled on 19 April 1936 at the Krasiński Square. It was removed from there in 1942, during the German occupation, and reinstalled in 1946. The monument was moved to its current location in 1959.

Mały Powstaniec (the Little Insurrectionist) is a statue in commemoration of the child soldiers who fought and died during the Warsaw Uprising of 1944. It is located on Podwale Street, Warsaw, Poland, next to the ramparts of Warsaw's Old Town. The statue is of a young boy wearing a helmet too large for his head and holding a submachine gun. Despite being sometimes colloquially called Antek Rozpylacz, it is not representing any specific child. The helmet and submachine gun are stylized after German equipment, which was captured during the uprising and used by the resistance fighters against the occupying forces. Jerzy Jarnuszkiewicz created the design in 1946 and it was used for years for producing small statuettes, only to become the monument decades later. Polish scouts gathered the entirety of funds for the statue and it was unveiled on 1 October 1983 by Professor Jerzy Świderski – a cardiologist who during the uprising was a 14-years-old courier (pseudonym: "Lubicz") serving in the "Gustaw" regiment of the Home Army. Behind the statue is a plaque with the engraved words of "Warszawskie Dzieci" ("Varsovian Children"), a popular song from the period: "Warszawskie dzieci, pójdziemy w bój - za każdy kamień twój, stolico damy krew" ("Varsovian children, we'll head into battle—for every stone of yours, we shall give our blood").

St John's Archcathedral (Polish: Archikatedra św. Jana w Warszawie) is a Roman Catholic church within the Old Town precinct in Warsaw, Poland. The Brick Gothic structure stands on Świętojańska Street, adjacent to the Jesuit Church. St John's is one of three major cathedrals in the city, but it is the only temple that also possesses the title of an archcathedral. It is the mother church of the archdiocese of Warsaw and one of Poland's national pantheons. Along with the old city, the church has been listed by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site.
