National Bank of Commerce Building (Kansas City, Missouri)

909 Walnut (formerly Fidelity National Bank & Trust Building, Federal Office Building and 911 Walnut) is a twin-spired, 35-story, 471-foot (144 m) residential skyscraper in Downtown Kansas City, Missouri. It was Missouri's tallest apartment building until the conversion of the Kansas City Power & Light building and the tenth-tallest habitable building in Missouri. In 1997, the building was added to the National Register of Historic Places.

The R.A. Long building is a historic skyscraper in Kansas City, Missouri located on the northwest corner of the intersection of 10th Street and Grand Avenue.In 1906, R.A. Long's Long-Bell Lumber Company had outgrown the office space in the Keith & Perry Building. Expanding operations and the need for a larger headquarters resulted in the construction of the R.A. Long Building, completed in 1907. This was the first all-steel framed building in Kansas City, Missouri with 16 stories and over 600 offices. Long's office was located on the 8th floor. It was the first offices of the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City from 1914 to 1921 when it moved across the street to the newly constructed 925 Grand. The renamed City National Bank & Trust Company opened their headquarters on the first floor in 1934. In 1947 the bank purchased the building. The building was placed on the National Register of Historic Places on January 8, 2003.In 2000 UMB started major renovations but the 8th and 14th floors were designated historic preservation floors to be restored to as close to original specifications as possible.

Commerce Tower is a 30-story skyscraper located in Downtown Kansas City, Missouri, USA. Constructed in 1965, it is the ninth-tallest habitable structure in the Kansas City Metropolitan Area, and since the completion of the City Hall, it was the first locally designed Skyscraper in Kansas City. The building was designed by architects Keene & Simpson & Murphy, who moved their offices into the building after it was completed. The facade is constructed of pre-cast stone and glass, (known as a "curtain-wall") creating a unique look, especially for its time. When it opened, its top two floors were home to the Top of the Tower restaurant, which served five varieties of ethnic cuisine in separate dining areas decorated to match the food served there. The last 15-foot beam was signed by 18,000 people including Harry S Truman. Commerce Tower is no longer occupied by its namesake, Commerce Bancshares. Commerce Bank moved its headquarters to 1000 Walnut Street in 1985. It is also home to the downtown campus of Park University. The building is expected to change ownership in 2013 and be redeveloped into a $90 million mix of office, residential, and educational uses—due, in part, to construction of the KC Streetcar right outside the building's main entrance.

The Western Union Telegraph Building in Kansas City, Missouri, is a former telecommunications building from 1920. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2003.

Commerce Trust Building is a 15-story tower built for Kansas City Missouri's biggest bank Commerce Bancshares in 1907 and was Kansas City's second skyscraper, following the New York Life building. It has facade of red granite and white terra cotta tiles and was Missouri's tallest building when it opened. Formerly on the site was the home of the Kansas City Journal which in turn was taken over by Commerce. Harry Truman worked in the predecessor building. Its architect Jarvis Hunt also designed Union Station and the headquarters of the Kansas City Star. The construction company was the George A. Fuller Company which built the Flatiron Building in the New York City and as a company continues to build major skyscrapers around the world. In 1965 Commerce built a larger adjoining building Commerce Tower but has continued to use the original building. In 2004 Commerce Bancshares conducted a $48 million renovation of the building expanding its square footage to 300,000 square feet (28,000 m2) by filling in the light court between the fourth and 15th floors.Part of the renovation also included illuminating the lobby's ornate glass ceiling to replicate natural sunlight.

The Chambers Building in Kansas City, Missouri was built in 1915 and 1923. It was designed in Early Commercial style by architect Charles A. Smith. Smith, Rae and Lovitt is also associated with the building.It has been marketed as Chambers Lofts. A renovation received low-income housing tax credits. The building was listed on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places in 2001.It is a 12-story building built of structural steel with a brick and terra cotta exterior. It was built in two phases: 1915 construction of first five stories, and 1923 addition of top seven stories.

925 Grand is the former headquarters of the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City and was the oldest building in active use of any Federal Reserve Bank. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2007.In 1913 Kansas City and St. Louis had a fierce rivalry over which city was to get a headquarters, but in the end, both cities received one. (Missouri is the only state to have multiple headquarters. Among the reasons noted for the award is that former Kansas City mayor James A. Reed, who was on the Senate Banking Committee, broke the deadlock to permit passage of the Federal Reserve Act.The first bank building was in the R.A. Long Building at 928 Grand, which opened on November 16, 1914, until a new $4.3 million building could be built across the street at 925 Grand, which formally opened in November 1921 in Downtown Kansas City. Shortly after it was established the bank rented space to outside tenants.The building, designed by Chicago Wrigley Building architect Graham, Anderson, Probst & White was Missouri's tallest building from 1921 to 1926 and Kansas City's tallest building from 1921 to 1929. President Harry S. Truman had his office in Room 1107 of the building from when he left the Presidency in 1953 until the Truman Library was completed in 1957.In 2008, the Federal Reserve moved to a new building off of Main Street by the Liberty Memorial designed by architect Henry N. Cobb. Townsend, Inc. of Overland Park, Kansas, bought the building for $10.8 million in 2005 and the Federal Reserve continued as a tenant until its new quarters opened in 2008. In 2013, Townsend lost the building when its lender, Great Western Bank of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, took back the property at courthouse auction. A Boston lender is providing funding to a new developer who plans to convert the building into a hotel.

The New York Life Building is a 12-story, 54.86 m (180.0 ft) high-rise in the Library District of downtown Kansas City, Missouri. The brick and brownstone tower, which was completed in 1890, generally is regarded as Kansas City's first skyscraper and was the first building in the city equipped with elevators. It was commissioned by the New York Life Insurance Company, which also used the same design for the Omaha National Bank Building in Omaha that was completed in 1889. Several buildings around the world share its name. A centerpiece of the Library District and Baltimore Avenue Historic District, the building is located amid historic structures such as the Kansas City Club and the Central Library.

The Scarritt Building and Arcade is a historic building in Kansas City, Missouri. It was built in 1906. It was designed by Root & Siemens. It has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since March 9, 1971.

The National Garage in Kansas City, Missouri is a building from 1930. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2000. It was demolished in 2004.

The Buick Automobile Company Building, at 216 Admiral Blvd. in Kansas City, Missouri, was built in 1907. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2004.It is a three-story brick building with elements of Tudor Revival style. It is supported bycast-iron columns, steel girders and heavy timbered joists, and was designed by architect Frank S. Rea. A three-story brick addition was added around 1934, and a two-story extension to the rear was added in 1958.The building included an automobile showroom on the first floor, auto repair shops in the basement and on the third floor, and a garage on the second floor.
