The C. N. James Cabin is a frontier-style log cabin, originally used as both a store and home, constructed in 1868. It was later also used as a church. It stands in what is now Augusta, Kansas, United States. The builder and proprietor of the store were Chester N. James, a merchant who moved to the area to establish a trading post. James was a central figure in the organization of Augusta Township and eventually the incorporation of Augusta itself. Augusta is named after James' wife. The C. N. James Cabin was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1994. It has been restored to its original appearance and is now the part of the Augusta Historical Museum, which is operated by the Augusta Historical Society.

The Whitewater River is a 62-mile-long (100 km) tributary of the Walnut River in southern Kansas in the United States. Via the Walnut and Arkansas Rivers, it is part of the watershed of the Mississippi River. According to the Geographic Names Information System, the stream has also been known as Whitewater Creek.

Augusta Theater

The Augusta Theater is a movie palace theater located in the city of Augusta, Kansas, which was built in about 1935. Designed by architect L. P. Larsen, the walls are decorated with large murals depicting classical scenes. It is significant, however, in that it was the first theater to use neon lighting exclusively. Considered to be a landmark of the Art Deco era, it became home of the Augusta Arts Council. In 1990, the Augusta Arts Council planned to proceed with renovations including restoration of the building's historic facade.The theater is currently being restored. So far the neon lights on the front of the building have been restored. The murals on the sides of the theater are being restored currently.

Loomis–Parry Residence

The Loomis–Parry Residence is a mixed-style residential house, constructed in 1917, in Augusta, Kansas. It is a 2-story structure, with an irregular floor plan, that retains nearly all of its original materials, including exterior brick walls and double-hung wooden windows. It has been continuously owned by the same family who originally constructed it. A widow named Henrietta Loomis commissioned the house as a residence for herself and her daughter. Her husband's family, who had been farmers, owned land in Butler County where oil was discovered in the early 1900s. The oil revenue financed the construction. The Loomis–Parry Residence was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2009.

The Little Walnut River Pratt Truss Bridge is a Pratt truss bridge constructed shortly after 1885, in Bois d'Arc, Kansas. It was constructed by the Kansas City Bridge and Iron Company as a carriage, horse and pedestrian bridge over the Little Hickory Creek, which joins the Walnut River in southern Butler County. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2003.
