The Eparchy of St. Thomas Syro-Malabar Catholic of Chicago, also known as the St. Thomas Syro-Malabar Diocese of Chicago, is a Syro-Malabar Catholic Church ecclesiastical territory or eparchy of the Catholic Church in the United States. Its episcopal seat is the Mar Thoma Sleeha Cathedral in the episcopal see of Chicago in Illinois state. The Most Reverend Mar Joy Alappat is the current bishop of the Eparchy since October 2022. While Mar Jacob Angadiath served as the bishop since the Eparchy's establishment in 2001 until his retirement in July 2022. It is not part of any ecclesiastical province, but immediately subject to the Holy See and depends on the Dicastery for the Oriental Churches. The eparchy was erected by Pope John Paul II on 13 March 2001. It is one of the four eparchies of the Syro-Malabar Church outside India. In fact the Chicago Eparchy is the first ecclesiastical territory of the Syro-Malabar Church outside India. It has jurisdiction over all Syro-Malabar Catholics in the United States, including Knanaya Catholics in the US.

Berkeley is a Metra commuter railroad station in Berkeley, Illinois, a western suburb of Chicago. It is served by the Union Pacific West Line, and lies 14.3 miles (23.0 km) from the eastern terminus. Trains go east to Ogilvie Transportation Center in Chicago and as far west as Elburn, Illinois. Travel time to Ogilvie is 29 to 36 minutes, depending on the service. As of 2022, Berkeley is served by 17 of 20 trains in each direction on weekdays, by all 10 trains in each direction on Saturdays, and by all nine trains in each direction on Sundays and holidays. As of 2018, Berkeley is the 173rd busiest of the 236 non-downtown stations in the Metra system, with an average of 145 weekday boardings.The station is at Park Avenue and Arthur Avenue. To the south there is a parking lot, a residential neighborhood of single-family homes, several distribution centers and warehouses. A large industrial estate that houses the Proviso Yard of Union Pacific Railroad sits to the north. Immediately to the west there are two highway overpasses that carry Interstate 294 and Interstate 290, respectively, over the freight yard. Berkeley Village Hall is on Electric Avenue, about a mile to the south.

Berkeley (pronounced BURK-lee) is a village located in Cook County, Illinois, United States. Incorporated in 1924, the population at the 2020 census was 5,338.The town has a commuter railroad station on Metra's Union Pacific/West Line with service to downtown Chicago. Berkeley is situated fourteen miles west of the Chicago Loop in Cook County. Berkeley is on the western edge of Cook County. Berkeley has instant access to the metropolitan area, with Interstates 290 and 294 comprising its western and part of its southern boundaries, and the Union Pacific Railroad (originally the Chicago & North Western) and the large Proviso classification yard to the north. However, the transit arteries that link Berkeley to separate locations also function to isolate the village from its close neighbours, providing it a small-town atmosphere.

The William and Jennette Sloane House is a historic house located at 248 S. Arlington Avenue in Elmhurst, Illinois. Built in 1909, the Prairie School house was designed by prominent architect Walter Burley Griffin. The house is representative of Griffin's early work and is a well-preserved example of a smaller Prairie School work. The main section of the house is two stories tall, with one-story wings projecting on either side. The house's exterior is white stucco broken up by dark wooden boards. A row of casement windows runs along the house on both floors; the windows are decorated with muntins, one of the house's only ornamental features.The house was added to the National Register of Historic Places on December 30, 2016.

The F.B. Henderson House is a Frank Lloyd Wright designed Prairie School home in Elmhurst, Illinois.

Redeemer Lutheran Church is a congregation of the Lutheran Church–Missouri Synod (LCMS) in Elmhurst, Illinois, a western suburb of Chicago. Founded in 1928, there were (as of 2008) 495 baptized members. Three of Redeemer's pastors held rather long tenures; Rev. Worth Setzer served for nearly 31 years, Rev. George Bornemann for 17 years, Rev. Richard Drews for 26 years. Rev. Robert Fitzpatrick served for 7 years. Moreso recently, Rev. Scott Stiegemeyer served at Redeemer for five years; the current pastor is Rev. Anthony Oliphant, who was installed in the autumn of 2015. This church is designed in a reserved mixture of Gothic and Neo-Baroque styles, and possesses artwork covering a number of different movements, including medieval-style stained glass, carved wooden doors, and a contemporary piece representing the Holy Spirit which hangs in the northern transept.

William H. Emery Jr. House is a Prairie School residence in Elmhurst, Illinois. It was one of the first independent commissions for Walter Burley Griffin.

Robinwood, also known as the George H. Miller House, is a historic residence in Elmhurst, Illinois.

York Street was a station on the Chicago Aurora and Elgin Railroad (CA&E) serving Elmhurst, Illinois. Opened on August 25, 1902, as South Elmhurst, it was one of the original stations of the Aurora Elgin and Chicago Railway (AE&C), which became the CA&E. It was significantly rebuilt in 1910, having a brick shelter added to it. Tickets were bought and sold at a nearby confectionery store. The CA&E closed altogether on July 3, 1957. York Street was the busiest of three CA&E stations in Elmhurst, and was located near a substation. It was the easternmost station for CA&E expresses west of 5th Avenue in Maywood. A bus route serving southern Elmhurst fed into the station, and the Chicago Great Western Railway had a station nearby.

South Elmhurst is an unincorporated community in York Township, DuPage County, Illinois, United States.

WCKG (1530 AM) is a radio station licensed to Elmhurst, Illinois, United States. The station serves the Chicago area and is owned by DuPage Radio, LLC. The station operates during daytime hours only. Hours of operation are determined by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC); daytime broadcasting varies monthly with the changes in sunrise and sunset. Due to its close proximity to 1530 WCKY in Cincinnati, OH, its coverage diminishes during the mid afternoon. The station is also heard on 102.3 FM through a translator in Elmhurst.
