Chak Shahzad (Urdu: چک شہزاد), is a modern suburb situated in the Islamabad Capital Territory of Pakistan.Historically, the suburb was home to Malik and Chowdhury tribesmen, but recently has seen a growth in farmhouses of the rich and wealthy from nearby Islamabad, including that of federal minister Muhammad Talha Mahmood, Pervez Musharraf, Makhdoom Ameen Faheem and Dr Tariq Fazal Chaudhry. The ex-cricketer and political leader Imran Khan also lives nearby in Bani Gala. The journalist Javed Chaudhry lives in Shahzad town which is adjacent to Chak Shahzad.

The 10 October 2008 Orakzai bombing occurred when a suicide bomber drove and detonated a pick-up truck packed with 300 kg of explosives into a meeting of 600 people, killing 40 instantly and injuring 81, although the toll later rose to 110 as many died in hospitals. The attack occurred in a remote region where the injured could not get medical attention for several hours. The attack was preceded by a row between Taliban militants and local Shia tribesmen. Angry tribesmen clashed with the Taliban the day before and destroyed the homes of militants in the area. At the time of the attack, the Ali Khel tribesmen had gathered to discuss ways to evict the Taliban from the region.

Alipur and Farash are two separate villages which are centuries old, whereas "Farash Town" is a settlement on the land acquired by the Capital Development Authority from the people of surrounding villages like Farash and Punjgran. Alipur and Farash, in Islamabad, are located on the Lehtrar road approx. 17 km from Rawal lake and 9 km from Chak Shahzad. Farash is a Capital Development Authority approved model urban shelter scheme which came into being in 1990. Homeless people from Bari Imam and other Kachi Abadis of Islamabad were settled in Farash. The name of village Alipur refers to Baba Ali Muhammad, the ancestor of Maliks living in Alipur, whereas a number of people of other origins have also migrated to Alipur over a last two decades, which has turned this small village into a big town consisting of a population of approximately more than 30,000. In Alipur, there is also shrine of Shah Sultan, a saint who gave shelter to Baba Ali Muhammad and helped him to make this area his habitat. As compared to Alipur, Farash is a mix of different clans which include Dhund Abbasis descendant of raja waliat khan including Raja Mohtasim youth counselor, Rajput, Mangrals, Bhattis, Qazis and Janjuas. Alipur Farash are adjoining villages and have a number of things in common. They select their local representatives for Union Council Alipur. Besides Tarlai and Kuri, Alipur and Farash have emerged as the major town of rural area of Islamabad. Farash is mainly the village of numbardars the main clan in the villages is raja (Janjuas). Despite being one of the CDA's "model villages" it resembles a typical unplanned settlement with nominal municipal facilities. Alipur Farash residents have been facing problems due to shortage of drinking water, poor sewerage and lack of other basic facilities. According to unofficial figures, there are 28 katchi abadis (informal settlements)in Islamabad inhabited by more than 70,000 dwellers in poor living conditions. Under the urban shelter programme, CDA has acknowledged 10 katchi abadis for provision of basic facilities.

Shakrial is a town in Rawalpindi District, Pakistan. It is linked in the east to Kuri Road and the area of Dhoke Kashmirian, in the west to Chirah Road, in the north to Service Road and the area of Sadiqabad, and in the south to Expressway Islamabad. The town is divided into two main parts, Old Shakrial and New Shakrial. The native people of Shakrial are Qureshis, and other major clans are Syeds, Hanjra Rajputs, Maliks, Mughals khans and Sattis. Every year in the summer season, people gather in the town for Urs of Saein Boota Darbar.

Sohan is a village and Union Council situated in Islamabad Capital Territory of Pakistan. It is a place where mostly livestock farms are situated, such as BizWhiz Livestock Private Limited Farms.

Bani Gala (Urdu: بنی گالا) is a residential area located in Islamabad at the eastern bank of Rawal Lake.

Rawal Lake (Urdu: جھیل راول) in Pakistan is an artificial reservoir that provides the water needs for the cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad. Korang River along with some other small streams coming from Margalla Hills have been set to form this artificial lake which covers an area of 8.8 km2. Korang River is the outlet stream of Rawal Dam. Rawal Lake is located within an isolated section of the Village Malpur, Bani Gala and Margalla Hills National Park.

Bhoja Air Flight 213 was a domestic scheduled passenger flight operated by Pakistani airline Bhoja Air from Karachi to Islamabad. On 20 April 2012, the Boeing 737-236A aircraft serving the route crashed in bad weather during its final approach to land. All 121 passengers and 6 crew members aboard were killed. With 127 deaths, it remains as the second deadliest air disaster in Pakistan.The crash was caused by the crew's inadequate flight management during adverse weather conditions. The flight crew were not trained adequately and properly on the automated system of the Boeing 737-236A, a more advanced version of the Boeing 737-200 series, and didn't retain sufficient knowledge on the correct procedures for handling an aircraft in bad weather conditions. Additionally, Bhoja Air's lack of oversight and multiple errors within Pakistan CAA's monitoring system of Pakistani airliners further contributed to the accident.

Pakistan Air Force Base Nur Khan (founded as RAF Station Chaklala and previously known as PAF Base Chaklala) is an active Pakistan Air Force airbase located in Chaklala, Rawalpindi, Punjab province, Pakistan. The former Benazir Bhutto International Airport forms part of this airbase. Fazaia Intermediate College, Nur Khan is also located in the base.

Benazir Bhutto International Airport (Urdu: بینظیر بھٹو ایئر بیس, ICAO: OPRN) is a defunct airport which formerly served the Islamabad-Rawalpindi metropolitan area. It was the second-largest airport by air traffic in Pakistan, until 3 May 2018 when it was replaced by the new Islamabad International Airport. Also known as Chaklala Airbase, it was renamed after the late Pakistani prime minister Benazir Bhutto (1953–2007) in June 2008. The airport handled 4,767,860 passengers in 2015–16, compared to 3,610,566 in 2010–11.The airport was located in the area of Chaklala in Rawalpindi, which neighbours Islamabad. Following the establishment of the new Islamabad International Airport, the airport is no longer used for civil aviation and now forms a part of the adjoining PAF Base Nur Khan (also known as PAF Base Chaklala).

Lake View Park (also known as Rawal Lake View Point or Rawal Lake Promenade) is a wildlife park, amusement park and adventure park located near Malpur village at the edge of Rawal lake in Islamabad, Pakistan. It runs under the administration of Capital Development Authority.The park contains the third-largest walk-in bird aviary in the world, which was inaugurated in 2013. It is 80 feet high, and covers 3.8 acres. 4,000 birds belonging to 300 different species are housed here

The Ojhri Camp disaster (Urdu: اوجھڑی کیمپ) took place on 10 April 1988. Ojhri Camp was a military storage center located in Rawalpindi Military District in Rawalpindi, Punjab Province of Pakistan.
