Helena Valley Northwest is a census-designated place (CDP) in Lewis and Clark County, Montana, United States. The population was 3,482 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Helena Micropolitan Statistical Area.

Tenmile Creek is a 26.5-mile (42.6 km) long tributary of Prickly Pear Creek, located in southern Lewis and Clark County in the state of Montana in the United States. Although somewhat polluted by abandoned mines and mine tailings in its upper watershed, Tenmile Creek supplies about half the water for the city of Helena, the state capitol.

The Scratchgravel Hills, el. 5,233 feet (1,595 m) are a small summit of hills northwest of Helena in Lewis and Clark County, Montana. The area has seen increased development and a drop in water level in recent years. The Scratchgravel Hills have alluvial deposits on top of faulted granitic bedrock. There was extensive mining in the area in late 1800s through the 1930s. The northern part of the region has folding shale, sandstone and limestone from the Algonkian (Belt) age. Adjacent granite has altered them into quartz-mica schist and related rocks. The southern and central portions of the region contains quartz monzonite. Bitterroot and conifers are common in the area.

Forestvale Cemetery (also known as Forest Vale Cemetery) is an historic cemetery in Helena, Montana. It was established in 1890 for the Helena Cemetery Association and laid out by Harry V. Wheeler. The arched stone entrance was built in 1890. Among almost 15,000 gravestones there is a mausoleum, the original property included a house for the sexton. The cemetery has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since February 21, 1990.Notable burials include Montana Governors Forrest H. Anderson (1913–1989), Tim Babcock (1919–2015), Sam C. Ford (1882–1961), Samuel T. Hauser (1833–1914), Benjamin F. Potts (1836–1887), and Sam V. Stewart (1872–1939). Other notables include businessman Charles Arthur Broadwater [1840–1892), painter Ralph E. DeCamp (1858–1936), pioneer James Fergus (1813–1902), Kentucky Governor Preston H. Leslie (1819–1907), actress Myrna Loy (1905–1993), US Senator Wilbur F. Sanders (1834–1905), and rodeo cowgirl Fannie Sperry Steele (1887–1983).

Black Sandy State Park is a public recreation area on the western shore of Hauser Lake reservoir, an impoundment of the Missouri River, located thirteen miles (21 km) northeast of Helena in Lewis and Clark County, Montana, in the United States. The park is along the Lewis and Clark National Historic Trail.

Hauser Dam (also known as Hauser Lake Dam) is a hydroelectric straight gravity dam on the Missouri River about 14 miles (23 km) northeast of Helena, Montana, in the United States. The original dam, built between 1905 and 1907, failed in 1908 and caused severe flooding and damage downstream. A second dam was built on the site in 1908 and opened in 1911 and comprises the present structure. The current Hauser Dam is 700 feet (210 m) long and 80 feet (24 m) high. The reservoir formed by the dam, Hauser Lake (also known as Hauser Reservoir), is 25 miles (40 km) long, has a surface area of 3,800 acres (1,500 ha), and has a storage capacity of 98,000 acre-feet (121,000,000 m3) of water when full.The dam is a "run-of-the-river" dam because it can generate electricity without needing to store additional water supplies behind the dam. The powerhouse contains six generators, bringing Hauser dam's generating capacity to 17 MW.

Lake Helena is a body of water along Prickly Pear Creek in the Helena Valley of Lewis and Clark County in southwestern Montana. It is 2,073 acres (8 km2) in size and is 3,647 ft (1,112 m) above sea level.

The Lewis and Clark County Hospital Historic District is a historic district in Helena, Lewis and Clark County, Montana. It has also been known as "Cooney Convalescent Home", "Miner's Hospital", "Poor Farm", and "Old Cooney Home". There are seven buildings and a garden on the property; four buildings and the garden are part of the historic district: the hospital, detention hospital, shed, superintendent's residence, and garden. The non-contributing buildings are the modern garage, concrete garage, and ambulance garage.

The Montana State Fairgrounds Racetrack, also known as the Lewis and Clark County Fairgrounds Racetrack and as Helena Downs, is a historic horse racing track located on the outskirts of Helena, Montana, in the United States. Constructed in 1870, the track was part of the Montana State Fairgrounds, now the Lewis and Clark County Fairgrounds. The racetrack was added to the National Register of Historic Places on December 20, 2006. Portions of the track were demolished from 2006 to 2008 due to new construction on the fairgrounds.
