The Hall of Great Westerners was established by the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum in 1958. Located in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, U.S., the Hall was created to celebrate the contributions of more than 200 men and women of the American West. Inductees include explorers, Native American leaders, writers, poets, politicians, statesmen and others.

The Hall of Great Western Performers is a Hall of Fame at the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum. It is located in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and sometimes referred to as the "Western Performers Hall of Fame". It is a 4,000-square-foot (370 m2) presentation that explores the various ways the west has been interpreted in literature and film. Every year the Museum inducts performers into the Hall of Fame at the same time the Western Heritage Awards are given out.Honoring Western performers who have contributed to the making and preservation of the stories and legends of the West, the gallery also displays a presentation of the museum's extensive collection of memorabilia, including the John Wayne collection of personal firearms and artwork. Significant, biographically associated artifacts, from the 101 Ranch Wild West Show to more recent Western films are part of the extensive holdings of movie posters and portraits.

The National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum is a museum in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, United States, with more than 28,000 Western and American Indian art works and artifacts. The facility also has the world's most extensive collection of American rodeo photographs, barbed wire, saddlery, and early rodeo trophies. Museum collections focus on preserving and interpreting the heritage of the American West. The museum becomes an art gallery during the annual Prix de West Invitational Art Exhibition and Sale each June. The Prix de West Artists sell original works of art as a fund raiser for the Museum. The expansion and renovation was designed by Curtis W. Fentress, FAIA, RIBA of Fentress Architects.

Midwest Christian College was a private, Christian college established in 1946 in Oklahoma City. During its first year, it enrolled thirty-three students. After peaking in the 1970s and '80s, it experienced a period of declining enrollment and financial difficulty. It merged in 1985 with Ozark Bible College of Joplin, Missouri to form Ozark Christian College.

The American Pigeon Museum & Library (APM&L) in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, documents the history of pigeons and their domestication in the United States, with emphasis on the usage of homing pigeons during World War I and World War II. Founded as the American Homing Pigeon Institute (AHPI) in 1973, the current museum opened in 1993 and focused on pigeon racing but later expanded to its current scope.

The International Gymnastics Hall of Fame, located in Oklahoma City, USA, is a hall of fame dedicated to honoring the achievements and contributions of the world's greatest competitors, coaches and authorities in artistic gymnastics. The early IGHOF was founded in 1972 by Frank Wells of the National Gymnastics Clinic. It had only one member, Olga Korbut, and disbanded in the late 1970s. The current museum was founded in 1986 by Glenn Sundby, publisher of the International Gymnast Magazine. Initially located in Oceanside, California, it was moved into Oklahoma City in 1997. The museum is housed inside the Science Museum Oklahoma, formerly called the Omniplex.

The Center of the American Indian (CAI) was an intertribal, Native American-led museum in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. It was housed in the second floor of the Kirkpatrick Center. The Center of the American Indian produced a quarterly journal, The Storyteller. The CAI held workshops, language classes, and symposia, such as "We Always Had Plenty: Native Americans and the Bison" held in 1989. CAI helped launch the Red Earth Festival in 1987. In 1992, the Center of the American Indian merged into Red Earth Inc., marking the end of its Native American leadership.

Science Museum Oklahoma is a science museum in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The museum is home to the Kirkpatrick Planetarium, the International Gymnastics Hall of Fame and a number of specialized galleries. The facility covers over 390,000 square feet, which makes it one of the largest science museums in the nation. It began as the Kirkpatrick Planetarium in 1958 with major additions in 1980, 1985, 2000, and 2007.

Oklahoma City's Adventure District is an area in Oklahoma City, roughly centered on NE 50th Street and Martin Luther King Avenue, that is home to several of the city's best-known attractions. The "Adventure District" designation was created in 2000 as a marketing effort by several of the area's businesses to market the area. In 2003, the City of Oklahoma City recognized the area as an official entertainment district.
