Hope Mills Dam

Hope Mills Historic District is a national historic district located at Hope Mills, Cumberland County, North Carolina. It encompasses 61 contributing buildings and 3 contributing sites in the central business district of Hope Mills. Ii includes industrial, commercial, religious, and residential buildings and includes notable examples of Federal and Late Victorian style architecture. Notable buildings include the (former) Hope Mills Manufacturing Company buildings, Rockfish Manufacturing Company, Colin MacRae House (c. 1828), Christ Episcopal Church, Lebanon Masonic Lodge No. 391, and Alice L. Gilbert Store.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985.

Hope Mills Lake, also referred to as Hope Mills Lake #1, and by long-time citizens as The Pond, was a lake in Hope Mills in Cumberland County, North Carolina. Before it was a lake, it was a mill pond which was fed by Little Rockfish Creek. The mill pond was created in 1839 near the Hope Mills Dam for the first cotton mill in the area. At the time, the area was called Little Rockfish Village. In 2003, heavy rains caused the earthen dam to fail and the lake was unintentionally drained. By 2006, the lake had not been restored so the Friends of Hope Mills Lake was incorporated as a North Carolina non-profit organization to promote and raise funds for the timely restoration and preservation of the dam. In 2008 the new dam was completed and full for the first time in 5 years. In June 2010, the Lake was intentionally drained for safety reasons, after an inspection discovered a sinkhole that was leaking water under the dam's structure.

Big Rockfish Presbyterian Church is an historic Presbyterian church located at Hope Mills, Cumberland County, North Carolina. It was built in 1855, and is a two-story, three bay by four bay, gable-end frame building with double front entrances in the vernacular Greek Revival style.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.Worship still continues each Sunday at 11AM with education hour at 10AM. The church hosts many special events throughout the year for different ages and for the community. The church is alongside Highway 301 (I-95 Business) Northbound side, Marracco St is the service road. The church is at the corner with McNeil St. 0.7 miles north of the Highway 59 Overpass.It is part of The Presbyterian Church USA and the Presbytery of Coastal Carolina. Chesnutt entitled "The Marked Tree," where a young man attends this church and becomes very religious while dating a local Rockfish belle he later marries.

The community is located between Fayetteville to the north and Hope Mills on North Carolina Highway 59; parts of the community have been annexed by the two cities. J. P. Riddle Stadium is a stadium in Fayetteville, North Carolina owned by Fayetteville Technical Community College (FTCC). It is primarily used for baseball and was the home of the Fayetteville Generals/Cape Fear Crocs baseball team. The ballpark has a capacity of 2,500 to 5,000 people and opened in 1987. J. P. Riddle Stadium is currently home to the FTCC Trojans. It was the 19-year home of the Fayetteville SwampDogs of the collegiate summer baseball Coastal Plain League. The SwampDogs announced on October 3, 2019 that they would sit out the 2020 Coastal Plain League season and relocate afterwards, having failed to reach a new lease agreement. The stadium has been nicknamed the Swamp.The Carolina Coyotes of the collegiate summer baseball Old North State League played the 2020 season at J. P. Fayetteville Regional Airport (IATA: FAY, ICAO: KFAY, FAA LID: FAY), also known as Grannis Field, is a public use airport in Cumberland County, North Carolina, United States. It is owned by the city of Fayetteville and located three nautical miles (6 km) south of its central business district.The airport has two runways and is served by a two-concourse terminal for commercial aviation and one separate terminal for general aviation traffic. The commercial terminal building was designed by Fayetteville architect Mason S. Hicks, a Fellow of the American Institute of Architects. As per Federal Aviation Administration records, the airport had 202,597 passenger boardings (enplanements) in calendar year 2008, 231,002 enplanements in 2009, and 258,986 in 2010. It is included in the National Plan of Integrated Airport Systems for 2011–2015, which categorized it as a primary commercial service airport (more than 10,000 enplanements per year).

The Crown Complex (originally the Cumberland County Crown Coliseum) is a multi-purpose venue in Fayetteville, North Carolina that includes the Crown Coliseum, an indoor stadium. The stadium broke ground in 1995 and opened in 1997, and is currently home to the Fayetteville Marksmen ice hockey team. The Coliseum replaced the Crown Arena in the same complex as the main venue for sports events. The complex also contains a 2,400-seat auditorium named the Crown Theater and a 4,500-seat venue named Crown Arena, both of which were built in the 1960s. On January 22, 2020, Cumberland County's commissioner announced that the Crown Arena and Crown Theater would close in October 2022 due to the venues' non-compliance with the ADA, but would not affect the Coliseum. The closing was pushed back to November 2025.During the early stages of its construction, Crown Coliseum was mentioned as a possible temporary home for the NHL's Carolina Hurricanes, but this was blocked by minor league hockey executive Bill Coffey who had signed an exclusive lease agreement with the arena for the Fayetteville Force of the Central Hockey League.It was reported in mid-January that TNA Wrestling would be taping its weekly TNA iMPACT! broadcast in the arena on February 24, 2011 — which would be only the second time in its history that the show would be broadcast outside Universal Studio's iMPACT! zone in Orlando, Florida. WWE taped its annual Tribute to the Troops show at the venue on December 11, 2011. Fayetteville native rapper J. Cole's Forest Hills Drive: Live and his concert film, Forest Hills Drive: Homecoming was recorded at the arena on August 30, 2015, during his Forest Hills Drive Tour.
