Rae, Harju County

Rae Parish (Estonian: Rae vald) is a rural municipality in northern Estonia. It is a part of Harju County. The municipality has a population of 17,967 (as of 1 January 2018) and covers an area of 206.7 km². The population density is 88.660/km2 (229.63/sq mi).

AS Kalev (2006–2012 Kalev Chocolate Factory AS) is an Estonian confectionery company. The company traces its origins back two hundred years, the business that preceded the Maiasmokk café was founded in 1806, and is now owned by Kalev. The Kalev company is the country's largest producer of sweets and a part of the industrial conglomerate Orkla Group. Kalev is based in Põrguvälja near Jüri, Rae Parish, Harju County.

Jüri is a small borough (Estonian: alevik) in Harju County, northern Estonia. It is located 12 km (7.5 mi) southeast of the capital Tallinn, by the Tallinn–Tartu road (E263), directly after the intersection with Tallinn Ring Road (nr. 11). Jüri is the administrative centre of Rae Parish. Jüri has a population of 3,594 as of 1 June 2023. In 2011, Jüri was the center of population of Estonia. Jüri has grown out of two parts: the centre of Sommerling Kolkhoz (former Rosenhagen Manor) in the west and a construction industry base with a residential area (former Jüri church and village) in the east. In the middle there is a protected Lehmja oak grove.In the 1630s the Rosenhagen Manor (Lehmja since 1917) was established; nowadays the site is located in western Jüri. Today, though the wooden main building has been destroyed, several side buildings such as the workers house have remained.The earlier Jürgens (Jüri) church was probably located in Karla in 1401. The current church in Jüri was built in 1885 on the site of a medieval church building. From 1713 to 1748, Anton Thor Helle, the translator of the first Estonian Bible, was the pastor in Jürgens.

Karla is a village in Rae Parish, Harju County, northern Estonia, with a population of 389 as of 1 January 2010.

Tallinn Prison (Estonian: Tallinna vangla) is an Estonian prison, which is located in Soodevahe, Rae Parish, Harju County. Earlier, the prison was located in Magasini Street, Tallinn.History of Tallinn Prison begins in 1919 when Patarei Sea Fortress was transformed into a prison (Patarei Prison). In 2000, Patarei Prison become obsolete. Patarei Prison as institution was moved to the facility on Magasini Street.In 2004, Maardu Prison was merged to Tallinn Prison.In 2016 Harku Prison was merged to Tallinn Prison.

Assaku is a small borough (Estonian: alevik) in Rae Parish, Harju County, northern Estonia. As of 2011 Census, the settlement's population was 460.

Monument of Lihula is the colloquial name of a monument commemorating the Estonians who fought for Estonia against the Soviet Union in World War II, located in a privately owned museum in Lagedi, Estonia. The monument has been controversial due to, in part, its dedication to those who served in the German Wehrmacht and particularly in the Waffen-SS. The monument has moved twice before ending up in the current location. It was originally unveiled in Pärnu on 2002, but taken down only nine days after prime minister Siim Kallas had condemned the statue. The statue was then located in Lihula in 2004, finally being unveiled in Lagedi on October 15, 2005.
