Outwood Academy Ormesby

Netherfields is an area in the Park End and Beckfield ward of the Borough of Middlesbrough, North Yorkshire, England. It forms the north-east side of the Ormesby. The area includes Outwood Academy Ormesby, Priory Woods (School and Arts College), and Pennyman Primary Academy. Fulbeck Road is the main road through the area.

Ormesby a village in North Yorkshire, England. Its governance is split between two unitary authorities, to the north Middlesbrough and to the south Redcar and Cleveland, both are part of the devolved Tees Valley area. It is in the Middlesbrough part of the Teesside built up area.Spencer Beck to the east and the B1380 road to the south form the boundary of Redcar and Cleveland with Middlesbrough's borough. The Ormesby ward, including Overfields and Ormesby Hall, had a population of 5,942 at the 2011 census. The Park End and Beckfield ward, which also includes Priestfields and Netherfields, is the area of Ormesby in borough of Middlesbrough.

Normanby Hall is a mansion on the western side of Normanby in Redcar and Cleveland. The manor of Normanby was held at an early period by the de Brus family, of Skelton Castle; and subsequently passed to Marmaduke de Thweng. Later it came into the possession of the Percys, and then, of the Moneys. At the beginning of the eighteenth century, the estate belonged to William Pennyman, Esq. When he died, in 1718, buried at Eston Church, his daughters Elizabeth and Joanna, married two brothers – Rev. William Consett and Captain Matthew Consett, sons of William Consett of Linthorpe. The manor lands were split, Reverend William Consett taking the eastern part of the estate, upon which he built the elegant and commodious Normanby House, becoming known as the Manor House. The other brother, Captain Matthew Consett, took the part of the manor with the ancient Hall. The Hall with a moiety of the estate was purchased in 1748, by Ralph Jackson, on the death of Captain Consett and in 1790 he common fields around it were enclosed to become parkland for the mansion. It descended through the Jackson family, in the late 1880s, to Major Charles Ward-Jackson M.P., who was lord of the manor, and who died in 1930.In the twentieth century, it came into the hands of Charles Amer, a former jazzband leader (Charles Amer Orchestra), Middlesbrough F.C. Chairman, owner of the Coatham Hotel, in Redcar, the Marton Hotel and Country Club and, later, property developer. Amer later sold the parkland belonging to the Hall and houses were built. The Hall itself, after several years as a retirement home, is now unoccupied and in a state of disrepair.

Ormesby Hall, a Grade I listed building, is a predominantly 18th-century mansion house built in the Palladian style and completed in 1754. It is situated in Ormesby, Middlesbrough, North Yorkshire in the north-east of England. The home of the Pennyman family, originally dating from c. 1600, the property has been much modernised. Now described as a "classic Georgian mansion", it comprises a main residential block and an adjacent stable block. The stable block housed the horses of Cleveland Police Mounted Section until their disbandment in December 2013. The Pennyman family began acquiring land in Ormesby in the 16th century and bought the Manor of Ormesby in about 1600 from the Conyers/Strangeways family. They acquired a Baronetcy from Charles II for fighting on the side of the royalists in the English Civil War, which became extinct in 1852 with the death of Sir William Pennyman. They lived in the house until 1983 when the National Trust opened the property and its 270 acres (110 ha) of land to the public after the death of Mrs Ruth Pennyman.The house contains significant plasterwork, a Victorian kitchen and laundry areas, gardens and estate walks. There is also a model railway which is open to the public.Ormesby Hall holds a range of events throughout the year.The historic barn at the estate farm was destroyed by fire in August 2023.

Teesville is an area in the borough of Redcar and Cleveland, North Yorkshire, England. A ward covering the area had a population of 6,517 at the 2011 census. It is part of Greater Eston, which includes the area and the settlements of Eston, Normanby, South Bank, Teesville and part of Ormesby.

Cleveland was a non-metropolitan county located in North East England which existed between 1974 and 1996. Cleveland was a two-tier county and had four boroughs: Hartlepool, Stockton-on-Tees, Middlesbrough and Langbaurgh-on-Tees. The county town was Middlesbrough, where Cleveland County Council met. The county was named after the historic area of Cleveland, Yorkshire. Its area is now split between the counties of North Yorkshire and County Durham. The county was abolished in 1996, with its constituent boroughs becoming unitary authorities. Hartlepool and the part of Stockton-on-Tees north of the River Tees became part of the County Durham, and the remainder became part of North Yorkshire. Some public bodies continue to cover the area of the former county, such as Cleveland Police and Cleveland Fire Brigade. Cleveland bordered County Durham to the north and North Yorkshire to the south, with a coastline on the North Sea to the east. It had a total area of 225 square miles (583 km2).

Thorntree is a housing estate in east Middlesbrough, North Yorkshire, England. The former Thorntree Ward's population was 6,290, at the 2011 census. Since 2015, the estate shares a ward with Brambles Farm.The housing estate was built in the late 1940s, in the lands of the former Thorntree Farm, after people started to move away from the terraced housing of Middlesbrough town centre and North Ormesby. It has a public park called Thorntree Park. The main roads of the estate are College Road and The Greenway. Thorntree Ward had a population of 5,000 and was identified as the 3rd most deprived (out of 8,414) housing ward in England, in 2000. Since the Index of Multiple Deprivation started measuring smaller output areas with a mean population of 1,500, the three areas of Thorntree later ranked 192nd, 205th and 378th most deprived (out of 34,412) in England respectively. Along with the Brambles Farm area, Thorntree was identified as the ward with the highest proportion of votes to Leave in the Brexit referendum of 2016. 82.5% of local residents voted to leave the EU while 17.5% supported remaining.

Gillbrook Academy (formerly Gillbrook College) was a mixed academy and sixth form in Teesville, Redcar and Cleveland, North Yorkshire. It merged with neighbouring Eston Park Academy in September 2014 and now forms part of a new single Hillsview Academy.

Normanby is an area in the borough of Redcar and Cleveland, North Yorkshire, England. A ward covering the area had a population of 6,930 at the 2011 census. It is part of Greater Eston, which includes the area and the outlying settlements of Eston, Grangetown, South Bank, Teesville and part of Ormesby.Ormesby's ancient parish was split into civil parishes. As a township, Normanby civil parish was formed with South Bank, and was under the South Bank in Normanby Urban District Council from 1894-1915. The urban district and parish merged into the Eston Urban District which was abolished in 1968 with the district becoming part of the County Borough of Teesside. In 1974, the county borough was abolished with the area remaining unparished since the abolition.

Outwood Academy Normanby (formerly Hillsview Academy) is a secondary school with academy status, located in the Teesville suburb of Middlesbrough, North Yorkshire, England. It has a mixed intake of boys and girls ages 11–18, with 600 pupils on roll as of 2019.The school is operated by Outwood Grange Academies Trust, and the current principal is Andrew Wappat.

Eston Park Academy (formerly Eston Park School) was a mixed academy and sixth form in Teesville, Middlesbrough, North Yorkshire, England. It merged with neighbouring Gillbrook Academy in September 2014 and now forms part of a new single Hillsview Academy. The new merged academy is run by the Academies Enterprise Trust (as were the two former schools). It had five houses: Durham, Lincoln, Ripon, York and Normanby (the house for the Sixth Form).

South Bank F.C. were a football club based near Middlesbrough, England. The club claimed to have been founded in 1868, which would have made them one of the oldest football clubs in England.
