Crooklands is a village in South Lakeland, Cumbria, England, 4.5 miles (7.2 km) south of Kendal on the A65 road. Historically part of Westmorland, the Lancaster Canal and Peasey Beck pass through Crooklands. The adjacent showfield of the Westmorland County Agricultural Society is the venue of the annual Westmorland County Show (first held 1799, moved to this site late 20th century), Country Fest (since 2009) and various other events. Crooklands is a ward which elects one councillor to South Lakeland district council. The population of this ward at the 2011 census was 2,146. In the 1870s Crooklands was described as "a hamlet in Preston-Richard township, Heversham parish". Preston Richard is now a separate parish from Heversham.

It includes the village of Endmoor, and the hamlets of Crooklands, Birkrigg Park, Milton, Low Park, and Summerlands.In the 2001 census the parish had a population of 1,307, decreasing slightly at the 2011 census to 1,305.There are 16 grade II listed buildings in the parish, including several milestones, bridges and a privy.In 1870-1872 it was described as "a township in Heversham parish" with a population of 504 and a gunpowder works.

Preston Patrick is a village and civil parish in South Lakeland, Cumbria, England. It has junction 36 of the M6 motorway in its south west corner and extends north east on both sides of the motorway until just beyond the B2564 road. In the 2001 census the parish had a population of 438, decreasing at the 2011 census to 426.It is set in the drumlin landscape south of Kendal. The neighbouring parishes are Old Hutton and Holmescales to the north, Lupton to the east, Beetham to the south and Preston Richard to the west.

Endmoor is a small village within Cumbria, England, situated close to the A65 road. It is about 5 miles (8 km) from Kendal, just south of Oxenholme, and is in the parish of Preston Richard. The Westmorland County Agricultural Society (WCAS, established 1799) is a registered charity which supports agriculture and related activities in and around the former county of Westmorland, England. Its activities include the annual Westmorland County Show. It was previously known as the Westmorland and Kendal District Agricultural Society.The Society's objectives are: (A) To promote and improve agriculture, horticulture, allied industries, rural crafts, the breeding of livestock, forestry and conservation and in particular in the old county of Westmorland and those parts of adjoining counties which are within a fifty five mile radius of Lane Farm, Crooklands, Milnthorpe, Cumbria; (B) To promote such charitable purposes as the charity trustees of the Society shall think fit. The Society is based at Crooklands, Milnthorpe, Cumbria, where it has a permanent showground and buildings which are used for conferences and other functions.

Farleton is a village and former civil parish, now in the parish of Beetham, in the South Lakeland local government district, Cumbria, England. In 1931 the parish had a population of 67.Historically within the county of Westmorland, Farleton lies near Milnthorpe, just to the east of the main A6070 road, from which it is divided by the Lancaster Canal, some 8+1⁄2 miles (13.7 km) south of Kendal. Farleton used to have one public house called 'the Duke' after the Grand Old Duke of York but this was turned into a dwelling house in the early part of the twentieth century. With Farleton there is a small river and one post box. There is also a limestone kiln and the remains of a limestone quarry. Farleton was formerly a township in Beetham parish, from 1866 Farleton was a civil parish in its own right until it was abolished on 1 April 1935 and merged with Beetham.

Killington reservoir runs alongside the parish of Stainton and the village is near the A590 road. In the 19th century John Bartholomew described Stainton as follows: "Stainton, township and vil., Heversham par., Westmorland, in S. of co.- township, 1735 ac., pop. 388; vil., 4 miles S. of Kendal; P.O."

Lupton is a linear village and civil parish in the South Lakeland district of Cumbria, England, along the main A65 road north west of Kirkby Lonsdale, 2.3 miles (3.7 km) from the village of Hutton Roof. In the 2001 census the parish had a population of 165, decreasing slightly at the 2011 census to 162.As well as All Saints Church, the village has a public house, the Plough. Lupton Tower is an 18th-century house now used as a corporate head office.

Halfpenny is a hamlet in the civil parish of Stainton, in the South Lakeland district, in the county of Cumbria, England. It is located roughly two and a half miles south east of Kendal. There is notably a ford over St Sunday's Beck, a tributary to the River Bela. Until sometime in the 20th century, there was also a watermill – Halfpenny Mill – in the village, which was by the mid-19th century producing flax, and then coconut matting, paper, and sweet manufacture. Halfpenny is accessible off of the A65.

Peasey Beck is a 19.6-kilometre-long (12.2 mi) beck flowing through Cumbria, England. It rises on Lambrigg Fell where it is known as the Sparishaw Beck, flows through Killington Reservoir and converges with Stainton Beck to form the River Bela at Milnthorpe. Prior to 1913, it was known as the River Beela throughout its length.
