Memphis Air Route Traffic Control Center (ZME) (radio communications, "Memphis Center") is one of 22 United States Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Area Control Centers and is located at 3229 Democrat Rd, Memphis, Tennessee 38118, United StatesThe primary responsibility of Memphis Center is sequencing and separation of over-flights, arrivals, and departures in order to provide safe, orderly, and expeditious flow of aircraft filed under instrument flight rules (IFR). Memphis Center is the 11th busiest ARTCC in the United States. Between January 1, 2017, and December 31, 2017, Memphis Center handled 2,145,204 aircraft operations. Memphis Center covers approximately 120,000 square miles of the Midwestern United States and Southern United States, including parts or all of Missouri, Kentucky, Arkansas, Tennessee, Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama. Memphis Center lies adjacent to five Air Route Traffic Control Centers: Fort Worth Air Route Traffic Control Center, Atlanta Air Route Traffic Control Center, Houston Air Route Traffic Control Center, Kansas City Air Route Traffic Control Center, and Indianapolis Air Route Traffic Control Center. ZME overlies or abuts many approach control facilities (including Memphis, Fayetteville, Nashville, Huntsville, Jackson, Little Rock, Chattanooga, and Columbus AFB).

The Mall of Memphis was a shopping mall in Memphis, Tennessee, containing 885,627 sq ft (82,277.4 m2) of retail space and 5,564 parking spaces. The mall opened October 7, 1981, closed on December 24, 2003, and was demolished in 2004. Among other things, the mall was home to the Ice Chalet, Memphis's only public ice rink.

Parkway Village is a predominantly African-American community in southeast Memphis, Tennessee, United States. Parkway Village is bounded by Getwell Road and Lamar Avenue on the West, Winchester Road on the South, I-240 on the North, and Mendenhall Road on the East. The former Mall of Memphis was in the Parkway Village community. In 1956, developers began to develop the farmland that is now Parkway Village for "gracious suburban living". Parkway Village remained a quiet community with little crime and well kept neighborhoods throughout most of the 1980s. In the late 1980s it became a neighborhood in transition and crime rate began to rise. Parkway Village is in the 38118 zip code. The population is primarily African-American, younger, and mostly single. The average home value, ($68,900) is lower than in the Memphis metro area as a whole.

South Memphis, one of the oldest portions of Memphis, Tennessee, is a community stretching from Midtown and Downtown to the Mississippi state line. In its early days, it was primarily an agrarian community. But South Memphis is known for its plentiful houses of worship including Mt. Vernon Baptist Church Westwood, St. Andrew AME Church, Washington Chapel CME Church, East Trigg Baptist Church, White's Chapel AME Church, Union Valley Baptist Church, Enon Springs Baptist Church, Warner Temple AME Zion Church, Unity Baptist Church, Ford's Chapel AME Zion Church, St. Augustine Catholic Church, and Monumental Baptist Church, just naming a few.

Normal Station is a neighborhood in East Memphis, Tennessee, anchored by the University of Memphis, formerly Memphis State University, and originally called West Tennessee State Normal School. It is bordered by the University of Memphis to the north, Audubon Park to the east, Park Avenue and the Sherwood Forest neighborhood to the south, and Highland Street to the west.

FedExPark is a baseball stadium in Memphis, Tennessee. It is the home field of the Memphis Tigers baseball team. The stadium holds 2,000 spectators and opened in 1972 as Nat Buring Stadium. The stadium was renovated and expanded in 2009, at a cost of $3 million; the Tigers played the 2009 season at USA Stadium in Millington. The stadium was reopened on February 19, 2010, as FedExPark.

The school, which serves grades 9 through 12, is a part of the Memphis-Shelby County Schools district. Built in the Memphis City School the became a part of the then Shelby County Schools district when the school district surrendered its charter in 2014. The school was named in honor of Memphis Mayor S. Watkins Overton.

Sherwood Forest is a neighborhood near the University District in eastern Memphis, Tennessee. It is located south of Normal Station and east of Orange Mound. Its boundaries are: Park Ave. (North), Rhodes Ave. (South), Getwell Rd. (East), S. Highland St., Radford Rd., and S. Prescott St (West). The neighborhood is home to the Sherwood Elementary and Middle Schools. Sherwood Forest is noted for having street names relating to the Robin Hood folklore including Robin Hood Lane, Maid Marion Lane, Friar Tuck Road, Little John Road, Nottingham Place, and Allandale Lane. Curiously, a number of streets are named after Southern California locations, or more specifically streets of Los Angeles. These include: Radford, Wilshire, Catalina, and the oft-mispronounced and alternatively spelled Vanuys.

Elvis Presley House is a one-story ranch style house in a residential neighborhood in Memphis, Tennessee. Singer Elvis Presley lived here with his parents between March 1956 and March 1957, before moving to Graceland.

Harding School of Theology, known until 2011 as Harding University Graduate School of Religion, is located in Memphis, Tennessee, in the United States. It is an entity related to the private Christian university associated with the Churches of Christ known as Harding University, the main campus of which is in Searcy, Arkansas. Harding School of Theology exists primarily to train religious ministers for congregations of the Churches of Christ. It is located in East Memphis on a campus which consists of part of a large estate given by a wealthy donor, on property shared with the K-12 church affiliated private school Harding Academy. In 2011 the institution's administration announced the change of name, from Harding University Graduate School of Religion to Harding School of Theology. The name changed represented a "rebranding strategy that seeks to reflect better the School's goal of equipping and inspiring servants of Christ with deeper faith and higher standards of scholarship"—as indicated in the alumni magazine.
