Kuopio Ice Hall

Hatsala is a district located west of the center of Kuopio, Finland. The eastern boundary of the area is Puistokatu, the southern boundary is Minna Canthin katu and the northern is the Kuopio motorway. The western border first runs along Sairaalakatu and Niiralankatu. From the intersection of Suokatu, the border first runs north, then turns west and passes through the Savonia railway line to the motorway. The border leaves Mustinlammi on the Niirala side and on the Hatsala side of the swimming hall and Kuopio Hall.Hatsala is home to the Board Office, Kuopio Court House and Police Station, Kuopio Ice Hall (also known as Olvi Arena), Kuntolaakso Swimming Hall, the Orthodox Church Museum of Finland, Kuopio Sports Hall, the Classical High Schools of Hatsala and Kuopio, the Kuopio barracks area (nationally significant built cultural environment site) and the Kuopio Veteran Museum, the Dance Theatre Minimi and the Kuopio Community College currently operating in a larger, brick barracks building.

RIISA – Orthodox Church Museum of Finland (Finnish: Riisa – Suomen ortodoksinen kirkkomuseo) is a museum located in the city of Kuopio, which specializes in the research, preservation and archiving of the visual and tangible cultural heritage of the Finnish Orthodox Church.

The Great Cemetery of Kuopio (Finnish: Kuopion Iso hautausmaa) is a large cemetery located in the Puijo district in Kuopio, Finland. The cemetery was founded in 1867 and has been expanded several times in the 20th century. The cemetery is located in the area of Kuopio Cathedral Parish and is also known as the Kuopio City Parish Cemetery. The cemetery is bordered on the south by the Kouvola–Iisalmi railway, on the west by the Blessing Chapels along Karjalankatu and the building of the Finnish Orthodox Church Museum and Ecclesiastical Government, on the north by the Highway 5, and on the east by Puijonkatu street.The cemetery has a graveyard of various faiths established in the early 20th century, in which the Eastern Orthodox population is buried; the cemetery also has a burial place for Russian soldiers – the Cossacks of Don – and a memorial chapel built for it in 1912. Perhaps the most famous person buried in the cemetery is Minna Canth, Finnish writer and social activist.According to the Finnish Heritage Agency, the Great Cemetery and the Heroes' Park located in the center, in the Multimäki district, represent Finnish cemetery culture in a nationally significant way.

IsoCee is a shopping mall and entertainment center near the Kuopio Market Square in the city center of Kuopio, Finland. The street address of the shopping center built by the Carlson Group is Ajurinkatu 16, and the distance from IsoCee to the Market Square is about 150 metres (490 ft). The center includes Finnkino's Scala cinema, gym, Restaurant Taikuri and bowling alley Keilakukko. The center covers an area of about 9,000 m2 (97,000 sq ft). IsoCee was opened on Friday, May 17, 2013, next to the Minna Shopping Center.In 2014, Carlson Group, which also owned the adjacent Minna Shopping Center, sold IsoCee to Keva, a public sector pension financial institution. The purchase price has been reported to be EUR 18.8 million.

Puijo is a district of Kuopio, Finland. It is located north of the center of Kuopio, along the European route E63. The area includes, among other things, Puijo Hill with its nature reserves, and the Great Cemetery of Kuopio on the south side of the hill between the five roads and the railroad track. There are many exercise and sports venues in the district.Right at the northern end of Sokos Hotel Puijonsarvi, the Puijo district extends to Lake Kallavesi, on the eastern side of the peninsula it is bordered by the Päiväranta, Kettulanlahti and Rahusenkangas districts. To the east of Puijo are districts Julkula, Rypysuo and Puijonlaakso.

Multimäki is a central district in the heart of Kuopio, Finland. Many of Kuopio's most significant attractions, including the Kuopio's Market Square and Market Hall, Heroes' Park (also known as Hatsala Cemetery) and the Kuopio City Hall, are located in the district. Kuopio Lyceum High School and two kindergartens also operate in the district. Multimäki borders district of Maljalahti in the north, Vahtivuori in the east, Kuopionlahti in the south, and Hatsala in the west. The boundaries of the district are street Minna Canthin katu (named after Minna Canth) in the south, Vuorikatu in the east, Suokatu in the north and Puistokatu in the west.The name Multimäki is not very commonly used, but this district name appears mainly in zoning. It is common to talk about the city center, which in addition to Multimäki includes the Väinölänniemi, Vahtivuori, Hatsala, Maljalahti and Kuopionlahti districts.

The Minna Shopping Center (Finnish: Kauppakeskus Minna) is a shopping mall in the city center of Kuopio, Finland. It is located in the Multimäki district along the Haapaniemenkatu and Minna Canthin katu streets. The shopping mall is named after local author Minna Canth. Its neighbors include H-Talo and IsoCee. The house was originally built by the Kuopio Merchants and Entrepreneurs Association (Kuopion kauppiaat ja yrittäjät ry) and was completed after long phases in 1988. The shopping center, originally built as a department store, used the name Savon City, but after the bankruptcy in the early 1990s and the change of ownership. Today, the shopping center is owned by Keva, the public sector pension financial institution, like the adjacent IsoCee.

Kuopio City Hall is a town hall in center of the Kuopio, Finland, near the Kuopio Market Square. It was designed by Finnish architects F. A. Sjöström and Josef Stenbäck, and was completed in 1886. Stylistically, the city hall is of the Neo-Renaissance of the second half of the 19th century. The current exterior coloring of the house dates back to 1974. In the most beautiful municipal buildings poll, in 2009 Kuopio City Hall was chosen among the three most beautiful municipal buildings. When completed, it sovereignly controlled the northern edge of the market square, the area around the square was still completely wooden at that time. Spatial changes were common in the first decades of the house. The first floor of the house had a restaurant and a public library.

Kuopio Football Stadium (Finnish: Kuopion keskuskenttä), also known as Väre Areena (formerly Savon Sanomat Areena, Magnum Areena) is a multi-use stadium in Kuopio, Finland. It is currently used mostly for football matches and is the home stadium of KuPS and Pallokissat . The stadium holds 5,000 and was built in 2005.

The University of Eastern Finland (Finnish: Itä-Suomen yliopisto) is a university in Finland founded in 2010 with campuses in Joensuu and Kuopio.

Kuopio Airport, located in the Siilinjärvi municipality, is Finland's fifth-busiest airport, with over 235,000 passengers in 2017.According to Kuntarating 2017 survey, Kuopio has the most satisfied residents among the 20 largest cities, and according to the 2018 survey, Kuopio is the best city for real estate investors. In the Kuntien imago 2018 survey, Kuopio ranks second among large cities of Finland after Seinäjoki of South Ostrobothnia. In T-media's attraction and influence of the ten biggest cities study in 2021, 2022 and 2023, Kuopio is the second most attractive city in Finland, with Tampere holding the first place.Kuopio was the European Region of Gastronomy in 2020. It is also known as home of Kalakukko, a traditional food of Savonia, which is why Kuopio is also known by the nickname the "Promised Land of Kalakukko".
