Lombard is a station on Metra's Union Pacific West Line, located in Lombard, Illinois. The station is located at 9 South Main Street. Lombard is located 19.9 miles (32.0 km) away from Ogilvie Transportation Center, the eastern terminus of the West Line. In Metra's zone-based fare system, Lombard is in zone D. As of 2018, Lombard is the 21st busiest of the 236 non-downtown stations in the Metra system, with an average of 1,502 weekday boardings. Unless otherwise announced, inbound trains use the north platform and outbound trains use the south platform. The middle track does not have platform access. As of May 30, 2023, Lombard is served by 54 trains (27 in each direction) on weekdays, by all 20 trains (10 in each direction) on Saturdays, and by all 18 trains (nine in each direction) on Sundays and holidays. Lombard station is located above ground level and consists of two side platforms. Three tracks run between the platforms, though one does not access the station. There is a station house next to the inbound (north) track, which is open from 5:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. Tickets are available at the station house on weekdays. Eight commuter parking lots operated by the City of Lombard are near the station; three of the lots require quarterly permits, and the other five require a daily fee of $1.25.On June 3, 2015, a pedestrian tunnel connecting the two platforms went into service after the morning rush. This tunnel replaced the existing track-level crossing between platforms for increased pedestrian and commuter safety.The station is in the heart of the village's central business district. Lilacia Park, the Helen Plum Library, and various local establishments are within walking distance from the station.

Lilacia Park, an 8.5-acre (3.4 ha) garden, is located at 150 South Park Avenue, Lombard, Illinois. It is adjacent to the Lombard station. It specializes in lilacs and tulips. It is open to the public daily. The garden was established by Colonel William Plum and his wife, Helen, who visited the lilac gardens of famous breeder Victor Lemoine (1823-1911), in Nancy, France. They returned with two cuttings (Mme. Casimir Perier, a double white, and Michel Buchner, a double light purple), which formed the basis of today's collection. After the Colonel's death in 1927 the grounds were left to the city as a public park.The park now features more than 200 varieties of lilacs and 50 varieties of tulips, as well as a greenhouse, historical building, picnic areas, and drinking fountains. Each year in May when Lilacs and other flowers are in full bloom, there is a "Lilac Time". This celebration includes visiting Lilacia Park to view all the blooming plants, the Lilac Parade down the Lombard Main Street, and the Lilac Princess Program contest.The park was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2019.

TLC Camp is a privately held 501(c) 3 organization in Illinois, United States that provides a free one-week summer camp for children with cancer and their siblings. TLC (Togetherness in Love and Care) is held annually during the third week of June at Sunset Knoll Park in Lombard, Illinois (TLC Camp 2009). Its purpose is to provide an opportunity for these children to experience a week of fun activities that allows them a break from the rigors of treatment and worry; to enjoy life as a normal child. What separates TLC from other camps of this sort is the inclusion of siblings, who experience the stresses of living with a cancer-stricken brother or sister (Tennison 1993). Extra effort is made to not distinguish those suffering from cancer with those who are healthy. Each year around 100 children ages 5–13 attend the camp free of charge. TLC is run by the Lombard Junior Women’s Club (LJWC), who along with their families and other local volunteers staff the event. Former campers are encouraged to come back as counselors once they are too old to attend (Fellers 2004).

Glen Oak Country Club is a country club and private golf course in Glen Ellyn, Illinois that was designed by Tom Bendelow and established in 1911.On January 7, 1909, the Pickwick Country Club was created. It had a 9-hole golf course, eventually expanded to 18 holes. Within a year, the club went bankrupt. In 1911, the property was purchased and reopened as the current Glen Oak Country Club.In the past bordering the club to the north- which is the Prairie Path today, was an interurban train stop. Many members lived in Chicago and would take the train out of the city to this club. Upon exit, a carriage would take the members along Hill Ave to the club house.Along with the golf course, it also has a swimming pool, and facility for trap shooting for member use on the club's south border. On the ninth hole, there is a Halfway House to refresh the players with drinks, beverages, and food. As the weather transitions from fall to winter many members change from golfing to The Skeet and Trap Club, which features a new remodeled Lodge area. Over the years, the club has been expanded and remodeled to the club it is today. Some of the famous people that have visited the club are famous athletes like MLB Players Jorge Soler, Carlos Zambrano, Basketball Hall of Famer Michael Jordan(basketball), Chicago Bulls Player Alex Caruso, Bobby Rahal (retired race car driver), Masters 4x Masters Champion Arnold Palmer(golfer), and PGA Golfer Mark Wilson.
