St Johns Park High School (abbreviated as SJPHS) is a government-funded co-educational comprehensive secondary day school, located on Mimosa Road in Greenfield Park, a south-western suburb of Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. Established in 1978, the school caters to approximately 900 students from Year 7 to Year 12, many of whom come from a language background other than English. The school is operated by the New South Wales Department of Education.

Established in 1988, the school enrolled approximately 1,500 students in 2018, from Year 7 to Year 12, of whom one percent identified as Indigenous Australians and 82 percent were from a language background other than English. The school is operated by the NSW Department of Education in accordance with a curriculum developed by the New South Wales Education Standards Authority. The school's catchment area includes the rapidly developing suburbs of Bossley Park and Abbotsbury in western Sydney. In 1999 it was revealed by The Sunday Telegraph that Bossley Park High School was the richest state high school which had a bank balance of more A$7 million. In 2004, The Sydney Morning Herald revealed the school had more than $10 million in reserves.

Bonnyrigg House is a heritage-listed homestead complex at Cartwright Street, Bonnyrigg, City of Fairfield, New South Wales, Australia. It was designed by possibly Francis Greenway and built from 1825 to 1826 by A. Kinghorne and Thomas Moore. It is also known as Male Orphan School, The Homestead and Schoolmaster's residence. The property is owned by Department of Planning and Environment (General). It was added to the New South Wales State Heritage Register on 2 April 1999.

The Male Orphan School land is a heritage-listed former vineyard and orchard and now vacant land at Lot 1 Cartwright Street, Bonnyrigg, City of Fairfield, New South Wales, Australia. It was built during 1803 by James Busby. It is also known as Land Next to Male Orphan School, The Homestead, Male Schoolmaster's Residence and Bonnyrigg House. The property is owned by Department of Planning and Environment, an agency of the Government of New South Wales. It was added to the New South Wales State Heritage Register on 2 April 1999.

Avala Sports Club is the home of the Avala football (soccer) club in Bonnyrigg, New South Wales, Australia. The ground has played host to some notable matches over the years but none more so than the friendly clash between the Bonnyrigg White Eagles and the high-profile 1991 European Cup Champions Red Star Belgrade who were in Australia on a mid-season break in January 2001.

On 15 April 2024, at approximately 7:15 pm local time, a knife attack took place at Christ The Good Shepherd Church in Wakeley, a suburb of Sydney, Australia. During a live-streamed sermon, the attacker walked up to the pulpit, first stabbing bishop Mari Emmanuel, resulting in permanent vision loss in Emmanuel's right eye, before stabbing a priest and injuring another churchgoer. While no one was killed, this attack was the second stabbing incident to have taken place in Sydney in three days, following the deadly mass stabbing at Bondi Junction. The New South Wales Police Force have arrested a 16-year-old male over the attack. They have classified the stabbing as a terrorist attack, but have not revealed the name or exact motive of the accused. Wakeley is home to many Christians belonging to the Assyrian diaspora, including Emmanuel himself.
