Winslade

Hackwood Park is a large country estate that primarily consists of an early 18th-century ornamental woodland and formal lawn garden and a large detached house. It is within the boundaries of Winslade, an overwhelmingly rural parish immediately south of Basingstoke in Hampshire. In its 260-acre (110 ha) grounds contain 23 separately listed structures including a teahouse pavilion, an ornamental bridge, statue of George I of Great Britain, three dispersed stone tōrōs, five urns and two fountains, a coach house and stables. Sheep and deer are tended to on grounds behind a variously arc-shaped and straight ha-ha wall. The park and gardens are Grade I listed on the Register of Historic Parks and Gardens and the main house is Grade II* listed on the National Heritage List for England.

Herriard is a village and civil parish in the Basingstoke and Deane district of Hampshire, England. Its nearest town is Basingstoke, which lies 4+1⁄2 miles (7.2 km) north. The village is situated mainly on the A339 road between Alton, and Basingstoke. At the 2001 census, it had a population of 247, increasing marginally to 251 at the 2011 Census. It was formerly served by the now-disused Herriard railway station on the Basingstoke and Alton Light Railway.

Cliddesden railway station was a railway station in the village of Cliddesden, Hampshire, UK. The station was a stop on the Basingstoke and Alton Light Railway until its closure in 1932.

Ellisfield is a village in the Basingstoke and Deane district of Hampshire, England. It lies approximately 4 miles (6.4 km) south of Basingstoke on the other side of the M3 motorway from the town. As a parish it is grouped together with Cliddesden, Dummer and Farleigh Wallop.

Cliddesden is a parish in Hampshire, England located 3 miles south of Basingstoke, close to the M3 motorway. In the 2001 census it had a population of 489, increasing to 497 at the 2011 Census. The land and housing are currently protected as it is within a Conservation Zone and has many areas of beauty and rolling countryside. The village was formerly served by Cliddesden railway station on the now defunct Basingstoke and Alton Light Railway. The station was used in the making of several films. In the 1937 film Oh, Mr Porter!, Cliddesden appeared as 'Buggleskelly'. A short length of railway track was installed in the centre of the Viables Roundabout in Basingstoke in 1976 to commemorate the line at a point close to its original route. The B3046 runs through the village centre.About 1.5 miles (2.4 km) to the southwest lies one of the highest points on the Hampshire Downs, Farleigh Hill (208 m).

Herriard railway station was a railway station in the village of Herriard, Hampshire, UK. The station was a stop on the Basingstoke and Alton Light Railway until its closure in 1932. On Sunday, 19 August 1928, a crash scene from the film The Wrecker was filmed at Herriard. A set of SECR coaches and a Class F1 locomotive no. A148 were released on an incline to collide into a Foden steam lorry. As in 2020 the platforms survive as part of a garden wall either side of a roadway.

Viables is a district of Basingstoke, England, that was formed around 1970 as part of the Basingstoke Town Centre Development Plan. The area is mostly made up of industry such as crafting centres, industrial and housing estates and the Jazz Buss Service. The area is bounded to the west by Hatch Warren and the A30. To the north is the district of Brighton Hill and the Cranbourne area. The popular Craft Centre in the area was once an outlying farm, but due to the London overspill, the Viables and Brighton Hill districts were built around Basingstoke, declining the old farm.

The Costello School is an 11–16 mixed secondary school with academy status in Basingstoke, Hampshire, England.It originally opened as Basingstoke High School for girls. It became Harriet Costello Secondary School in 1972 when it became a co-ed, but was renamed Costello Technology College after gaining specialist Technology College status. The school was converted to academy status on 1 July 2012 and was renamed The Costello School. Before becoming an academy it was a community school under the direct control of Hampshire County Council. The school continues to coordinate with Hampshire County Council for admissions. The school, as of 1 September 2018, is now part of the multi-academy trust (MAT) Bohunt Education Trust.

Queen Mary's College (QMC) is a sixth form college in Basingstoke, Hampshire, England. The college's name is from the former grammar school Queen Mary's School located in the northern part of Basingstoke and the college is located in the former school buildings of the Shrubbery All Girls secondary modern, which dates back to the early 1950s. As of October 2019, the college is now managed and run as an academy by the single academy trust North Hampshire Education Trust. The Principal is Mark Henderson who took over from a retiring Ali Foss in September 2021.

Eastrop Park is a public park located in the east of Basingstoke, Hampshire. The park features a large boating lake, a miniature golf course, a café and walking trails. The River Loddon flows through the park, feeding into a balancing pond. The pond serves as a habitat for various wildlife, including kingfishers.
