Blues Beach, West Virginia

Grace is an unincorporated community on the South Branch Potomac River in Hampshire County, West Virginia, United States. Grace lies at the intersection of Grace's Cabin Road (West Virginia Secondary Route 28/6) and West Virginia Route 28 across the South Branch from Blues Beach.

Ridgedale is an unincorporated community in Hampshire County in the U.S. state of West Virginia. It is located within a horseshoe bend in the South Branch Potomac River between the communities of Blues Beach and Wappocomo. Ridgedale is named for the recently restored 1835 plantation built by George W. Washington (a distant relative of George Washington), also known as Washington Bottom Farm. Washington's plantation obtained its name due to its location at the foot of Mill Creek Ridge at its northernmost extent. Ridgedale is located off the South Branch Valley Railroad and is accessible from West Virginia Route 28 by way of Washington Road (West Virginia Secondary Route 28/3). Ridgedale once had a post office and a school in operation there. Today, Ridgedale consists of the old Washington farm and a number of summer camps, cabins, and vacation homes on the South Branch.

Ridgedale (also known as Washington Bottom Farm, Ridge Dale, and as the George W. Washington House and Farm) is a 19th-century Greek Revival plantation house and farm on a plateau overlooking the South Branch Potomac River north of Romney, West Virginia, United States. The populated area adjacent to Washington Bottom Farm is known as Ridgedale. The farm is connected to West Virginia Route 28 via Washington Bottom Road (West Virginia Secondary Route 28/3). Ridgedale, constructed in 1835, was the residence of gentleman farmer George William Washington, a descendant of George Washington's great-great-grandfather Reverend Lawrence Washington. The farm is currently a private residence.

Springfield Brick House, also known as Frenchwood, is a historic home located at Springfield, Hampshire County, West Virginia. It was built about 1855 and is a two-story, five-bay, orange-red brick building with an L-shaped plan. It features a three-bay front porch with a hipped roof supported by Doric order columns. The house has a blend of Georgian and Greek Revival design elements. Also on the property is a contributing well.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2013.

Springfield is a census-designated place (CDP) in northwestern Hampshire County in the U.S. state of West Virginia. As of the 2010 census, Springfield had a population of 477. Springfield is located north of Romney along West Virginia Route 28 at its junction with Green Spring Road (West Virginia Secondary Route 1) and Springfield Pike (West Virginia Secondary Route 3). It is currently considering incorporation.

Wappocomo is an unincorporated community in Hampshire County in the U.S. state of West Virginia. The community is located south of Springfield on West Virginia Route 28 at Hanging Rocks along the South Branch Potomac River. Wappocomo has also historically been referred to as The Rocks, Wapocoma, and Wapocomo. The community's name comes from the Native Americans of the area, Wappocomo meaning South Branch Potomac River in the local Indian language.Wappocomo has become a popular location on the South Branch for summer campsites with both locals and out-of-state visitors. It should not be confused with the Wapocoma Campgrounds, located five miles south of Romney on South Branch River Road (West Virginia Secondary Route 8).

Raven Rocks is an unincorporated community in Hampshire County within U.S. state of West Virginia. It lies on Springfield Pike (West Virginia Secondary Route 3) between the communities of Springfield and Millesons Mill.

Vance is an unincorporated community in Hampshire County in the U.S. state of West Virginia. Vance lies on the South Branch Potomac River. Most of its residents reside along West Virginia Route 28. Buffalo Creek empties into the South Branch at Vance.

Buffalo Creek is a 4.1-mile-long (6.6 km) free-flowing tributary stream of the South Branch Potomac River, itself a tributary of the Potomac River, making it a part of the Chesapeake Bay watershed. Buffalo Creek is located in west-central Hampshire County in the U.S. state of West Virginia. Because the stream flows through several small farms, Buffalo Creek primarily serves agriculture purposes with segments used for livestock watering.

The former Springfield Wildlife Management Area was located on approximately 1,700 acres (690 ha) in Hampshire County near Springfield, West Virginia. Created during the 1970s, the land was owned by MeadWestvaco.Springfield WMA was abolished on April 1, 2004, when the West Virginia Division of Natural Resources' lease for the site expired after MeadWestvaco refused to renew it. The site was subsequently purchased by a developer who intended to during it into housing lots. In May 2015, Potomac Conservancy purchased the land. They plan to place a conservation easement on the property and donate the land to the West Virginia Division of Natural Resources. At that time, the land will open as a public recreation area for camping, hiking, and hunting.

Three Churches is an unincorporated community in Hampshire County in the U.S. state of West Virginia. The town is located north of Romney along Jersey Mountain Road (West Virginia Secondary Route 5) at a crossroads with Three Churches Hollow Road (West Virginia Secondary Route 5/4). Originally known as Jersey Mountain, Three Churches was renamed for the three historic white wooden churches located there: Mount Bethel Church, Mount Bethel Primitive Baptist Church, and Branch Mountain United Methodist Church. The Three Churches Post Office is no longer in service.

The Potomac Eagle Scenic Railroad is a heritage railroad based in Romney, West Virginia. The railroad operates excursion trains over a former Baltimore and Ohio Railroad line that runs between Green Spring and Petersburg. The West Virginia State Rail Authority (SRA) owns the line and freight service is provided by the South Branch Valley Railroad. The Potomac Eagle Scenic Railroad's excursion trains run from Romney to Moorefield with occasional longer trips to Petersburg. All excursions use diesel locomotives. A highlight of the trip is passage along the South Branch Potomac River through "The Trough", an area noted for bald eagle sightings.
