Hochfirst (Black Forest)

The Hochfirst Tower (German: Hochfirstturm) is a 25-metre-high lattice observation tower on the Hochfirst mountain near Titisee-Neustadt at 47°54'04" N and 8°11'03" E. It was built in 1890 as the replacement for a wooden observation tower. Several observation decks may be accessed by the winding corrugated metal staircase, and the top deck provides panoramic views of the distant Swiss Alps and the Titisee-Neustadt valley. The tower is accessible from the Freiburg-Lake Constance Black Forest Trail and is near the small village of Saig. Currently, Hochfirst Tower is used for directional radio and mobile phone services as well as for observation purposes. Hochfirst Tower has been further reinforced to withstand the strong valley winds.

Saig bei Lenzkirch is a small village and health resort with therapeutical climate in the community of Lenzkirch, district of Breisgau-Hochschwarzwald in the German state of Baden-Württemberg. It has a surface area of 11,03 km2 and a resident population of 1023, 777 in the urban area (as of 31 December 2014). Saig derives its name from Seigge, a German word for watershed as it lays in the divide between the Rhine and the Danube.

The Höllentalbahn (literally, "Hell Valley Railway") is a railway line that partially runs through the Höllental valley in the Black Forest of Germany. The line connects Freiburg im Breisgau with Donaueschingen, a distance of 74.7 km (46.4 mi).Over its entire course the line rises from an altitude of 278 m (912 ft) in Freiburg to 885 m (2,904 ft) in Hinterzarten. Part of the route has a 5.5% gradient, making the line one of the steepest in Germany. The section Freiburg-Neustadt is electrified since 18 June 1936. Because of this and the steady decrease of traffic between Neustadt and Donaueschingen the route did not represent an operational unit anymore. The last direct connection between Freiburg and Donaueschingen ended in 2003 with the Kleber-Express Freiburg-Munich being discontinued. The missing section was electrified until the end of 2019 in the course of the project “Breisgau-S-Bahn 2020”, in order to enable direct trains from Breisach via Freiburg, Neustand and Donaueschingen to Villingen.

Neustadt (Schwarzw) station is one of two stations in Titisee-Neustadt in the German state of Baden-Württemberg. The other is Titisee. It is located in Neustadt at 805 metres above sea level on the Höllentalbahn, which links Freiburg with Donaueschingen. The station has three platform tracks and is classified by Deutsche Bahn (DB) as a category 5 station. Established in 1887, the entrance building is now heritage-listed and houses among other things a DB agency with ticket sales.

Titisee station (German: Bahnhof Titisee) is a railway station in the municipality of Titisee-Neustadt, located in the Breisgau-Hochschwarzwald district in Baden-Württemberg, Germany.

Titisee-Neustadt (German: [ˌtɪtizeːˈnɔʏʃtat] ) is a municipality in the district of Breisgau-Hochschwarzwald in Baden-Württemberg in southern Germany. It is made up of the six communities of Neustadt, Langenordnach, Rudenberg, Titisee, Schwärzenbach and Waldau. The town of Neustadt is a spa known for its Kneipp hydrotherapeutic and curative methods. Furthermore, it is a winter sport center.

The Hochfirst Ski Jump (German: Hochfirstschanze) is a ski jumping hill located in Titisee-Neustadt in the state of Baden-Württemberg in Germany. The ski jump is named after the mountain Hochfirst (1197 m) in the Black Forest. It is the biggest natural ski jumping hill. This means that in contrast to many other ski jumping facilities, rather than an artificial tower, the natural gradient of the mountain slope was used for construction.

The Titisee is a lake in the southern Black Forest in Baden-Württemberg. It covers an area of 1.3 km2 (320 acres) and is an average of 20 m (66 ft) deep. It owes its formation to the Feldberg glacier, the moraines of which were formed in the Pleistocene epoch and nowadays form the shores of the lake. The lake's outflow, at 840 m (2,760 ft) above sea level, is the River Gutach, which merges with the Haslach stream below Kappel to form the Wutach. The waters of the Titisee thus drain eventually into the Upper Rhine between Tiengen and Waldshut. On the north shore lies the spa town of the same name, today a part of the municipality of Titisee-Neustadt.

The moor of Hinterzarten (Hinterzartener Moor) is a nature reserve located in the municipality of Hinterzarten, Baden-Wuerttemberg, Germany. It is considered the biggest moor in the southern Black Forest.

Friedenweiler is a town in the district of Breisgau-Hochschwarzwald in Baden-Württemberg in southern Germany. It is 10 km north of Titisee-Neustadt.
