San Pedro Alcántara (St. Peter of Alcántara) (pop: approx 35,500) lies on the main Costa del Sol coastal road the N340/A7 as well as the toll motorway the AP7, 10 km west of Marbella in Andalucia, Southern Spain. It is easily accessed from either Málaga or Cádiz and via the C339 from Sevilla and Ronda. The nearest airports of Málaga and Gibraltar are both within an hour's drive. It is situated in the fertile plain of the same name, Vega de San Pedro Alcántara, a broad stretch of coastal lowland surrounded in a semicircle by rugged hills. On the East the Sierra Blanca of Marbella, dominated by its highest peak Pico del Astonar (1.270 m.) better known locally as "La Concha" (The Shell) because of its resemblance to a fluted sea shell when viewed from the west. To the North, there is the Sierra del Real or El Real del Duque, the Sierra de las Nieves and those of Tolox, on the West of the town the Monte Mayor and, finally, closing the mountain line the Sierra Bermeja.

The river Guadalmina (from the Arabic for "Wadi (river) of the port") is a short coastal river of the Mediterranean basin in southern Spain that runs entirely within the Andalusian province of Málaga. Only 28 kilometres (17 mi) in length, the Guadalmina rises in the Sierra Bermeja, in the municipality of Igualeja, but its main course begins below the mountains in the municipality of Benahavís, forming a karst aquifer in an area known as Las Angosturas (the narrows). The river flows into the municipality of Marbella near San Pedro de Alcántara, and serves to delimit its border from that of the municipality of Estepona. The Guadalmina was formerly of defensive strategic importance for the people of Marbella; its waters also served to power watermills for grinding grain into flour. The La Concepción reservoir is the primary water source for this municipality; it is formed by a diversion dam on the Río Verde, where the waters of the rivers Guadalmina, Guadalmansa and Guadaiza join and are captured, then transported to provide the water supply of the Costa del Sol towns of Benalmadena, Fuengirola, Mijas, Benahavís, Marbella, Casares and Manilva. The lower course of the river is heavily urbanized; many homes there have a high risk of inundation.Near the river's mouth, next to San Pedro de Alcántara, are the important archaeological sites of the early 4th-century Christian church Basílica de Vega del Mar, the 3rd-century vaulted Roman baths of Las Bóvedas (the Domes) and the eponymous watch tower of Torre de Las Bóvedas.

Puerto José Banús, more commonly known simply as Puerto Banús, is a marina located in the area of Nueva Andalucía, to the southwest of Marbella, Spain on the Costa del Sol. It was built in May 1970 by José Banús, a local property developer, as a luxury marina and shopping complex. It has since become one of the largest entertainment centres in the Costa del Sol, with 5 million annual visitors, and is popular with international celebrities. Developed around a coastal village in the Mediterranean architectural style, Puerto Banús contains high-end shopping malls, restaurants and bars around the marina.

The Battle of Río Verde was a military engagement between the Granadans and the Castilians at the Río Verde near Marbella. The Granadans achieved a resounding victory.

Aloha Golf Club is a golf club, located 3 kilometres inland from Puerto Banús and 8 kilometres west of Marbella, Andalusia, Spain. It hosted the Andalucian Open on the European Tour in 2007, 2008 and 2012, and the Spanish Women's Open on the Ladies European Tour in 2016 and 2019.The Aloha Golf Club was established in 1975 and in 2005 celebrated its 30th anniversary with a dinner gala dance. It is a private members' club, guests of members and guests of the Club are welcomed but from 2023 members of the public are no longer admitted.

Aloha College is a private school established in 1982 as a not-for-profit in Marbella, Spain. It provides an international education in 2 sections, Primary School (3 – 10 years) and Secondary School (11 – 18 years).The main building, purpose-built in 1982, houses the Primary school and administration department and covers an area of 5000 square metres. When it opened it was one of the first IB schools in Spain. A new Secondary school was opened in September 2004, effectively doubling the size of the school. The modern, purpose-built accommodation has, in addition to normal classroom provision, seven well-equipped laboratories, three dedicated computer suites, a library & media Centre, two art & design Studios and a Music Department with a tiered performance area and two drama studios. There are two all-weather sports pitches, a golfing academy and riding school nearby and daily use is made of tennis and swimming facilities within minutes of the site. In addition to a wide-ranging programme of extra-curricular activities, there is a strong emphasis on music and drama tuition. Aloha College is an official examination centre for the prestigious LAMDA qualifications (London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art). Also, examiners from the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music and the British Ballet Organization regularly visit the college to assess pupils. Students from 14 years onwards have the opportunity of taking part in the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme.

The Spanish Women's Open (in Spanish: Open de España Femenino) is a professional golf tournament that has been part of the Ladies European Tour schedule since 2002. It is the national championship of Spain in golf. Between 1982 and 1996 there were several unofficial editions of the tournament.

King Abdul Aziz Mosque or Marbella Mosque (Spanish: Mezquita del rey Abdelaziz, Mezquita de Marbella) is an Islamic place of worship located in Marbella, Province of Málaga, Andalusia, Spain. It is financed by Saudi Arabia, and is named after their first monarch. It was built in 1981 and is one of the first Spanish mosques built in the modern time.Along with the Fuengirola Mosque and Malaga Mosque, the Marbella Mosque was financed with money from Saudi Arabia, and is therefore a part of the Salafi school of thought, a movement dominant in Saudi Arabia. The construction was ordered by Prince Salman in honor of King Fahd, who was a frequenter of Marbella.The building architecture is an example of Andalusian-inspired contemporary Arabic architecture. Built by Córdoban architect Juan Mora, it holds over 800 people and consists of housing for the imam, library and gardens.

The Andalucia Tennis Experience was a professional women's tennis tournament played on outdoor clay courts. The inaugural edition was in 2009. The event is affiliated with the Women's Tennis Association (WTA) and is an International tournament on the WTA Tour. The scheduled 2012 edition was cancelled. In 2021, a one off men's edition took place to fill up the void in ATP Tour calendar left due to the withdrawal of certain tournaments as a result of uncertainties caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Club de Tenis Puente Romano is a tennis venue situated in Marbella, Spain. The facility was opened in 1979 as part of a hotel, Hotel Puente Romano, and was initially managed by Björn Borg.The club was the host of the annual WTA Tour stop, the Andalucia Tennis Experience, between 2009 and 2011. It has also been the venue for Davis Cup matches in 1989 and 2018. It hosted the Marbella Challenger competition in 2018 and 2019.The tennis club is within the grounds of Hotel Puente Romano, which was first built as an apartment complex in 1974, and converted to a hotel in 1979.

Benahavís is a Spanish town (pueblo) and municipality in the province of Malaga. It is a mountain village between Marbella, Estepona, and Ronda, 7 kilometers from the coast. On the southern face of La Serranía de Ronda mountain range, Benahavís is one of the most mountainous villages on the western Costa del Sol, near the resort beaches as well as the spectacular mountains of the Serrania de Ronda. Its terrain is traversed by the Guadalmina, Guadaiza and Guadalmansa Rivers. Places of great natural and historic interest are to be found within its boundaries, such as El Cerro del Duque, Daidin and the Montemayor Castle. During the late 1990s, the Junta de Andalucia constructed a dam on the site of an old marble quarry, and now for much of the year the once ever-flowing Río Guadalmina is a dried-up riverbed.

The Marbella Club Hotel is a hotel in Marbella, Spain. The hotel is located on the southern Spanish Costa del Sol, on the "Golden Mile" near Old Town Marbella and Puerto Banús. The Marbella Club Hotel was built in 1954 by Prince Alfonso of Hohenlohe-Langenburg as his private residence. It was extensively renovated and enlarged from the mid-1980s through 2000.The hotel features 121 bedrooms and suites, spread over the beach front resort, and 16 Andalusian-style villas throughout 42,000 square metres (10 acres) of gardens. The hotel has 132 rooms. In 1999, the hotel completed its own private 18-hole golf course, designed by Dave Thomas. The hotel has a British P.G.A. Professional, Gary Vautier. A riding stable for hotel guests is also present.
