Rockland Road Bridge

Rockland Road Bridge Historic District is a national historic district located at Piermont in Rockland County, New York. The district encompasses 12 contributing buildings and 8 contributing structures in the village of Piermont. It developed between about 1785 and 1940, and includes representative examples of Federal, Greek Revival, Italianate, and Second Empire style architecture. Located in the district are the separately listed William Ferdon House, Haddock's Hall, and the Rockland Road Bridge. Other notable buildings and structures include the Sparkill Pump House and Dam (c. 1940), "Protection Engine Company" (c. 1854 and later), and The Mine Hole.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2011.

William Ferdon House, also known as Ferdon Hall, is a historic home located at Piermont in Rockland County, New York. It was built about 1835, and is a two-story, Greek Revival style frame dwelling. It features a monumental front portico supported by six Ionic order columns. It has modern two-tiered flanking wings and a rear verandah. It was the home of U.S. Congressman John W. Ferdon (1826-1884).: 3–5, 10 It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2011.

Haddock's Hall is a historic commercial building located at Piermont in Rockland County, New York. It was built about 1875 and is a two-story, three bay wide, brick commercial / civic building. It features a three-story tower. It was originally constructed for use as a store, warehouse, and village hall.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1991.

House at 352 Piermont Avenue is a historic home located at Piermont, Rockland County, New York. It was built about 1780, and is a 2+1⁄2-story, side-gabled, sandstone Colonial period residence. A two-story frame addition was built about 1970. The house features a two-story, full-facade replacement porch.: 3 It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2015.

First Reformed Church, also known as Piermont Reformed Church and First Protestant Dutch Church of Piermont, is a historic Reformed Church in America church located at Piermont, Rockland County, New York. It was built in 1946, and is a one-story, three-bay by four-bay, Wren-Gibbs Colonial Revival style church. It features a central square tower topped by a hexagonal steeple. Attached to the church is a side-gabled, I-shaped parish hall, completed in 1952. Also on the property is the contributing parsonage (c. 1860). Organized in 1839, it is home to oldest congregation in Piermont.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2015.

The Sparkill Creek Drawbridge is a historic Pratt Pony Truss drawbridge located at Piermont in Rockland County, New York. It was built in 1880 by the King Iron Bridge Company of Cleveland, Ohio, and is a single-leaf movable metal bridge. Chains can lift the bridge when an operator turns a crank, helped by counterweights. It spans Sparkill Creek, a tributary of the Hudson River.The bridge was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985 and documented by the Historic American Engineering Record in 1994. A complete dismantling and restoration for $900,000 was completed in 2009 and the bridge now serves as solely a pedestrian bridge. The Rockland County Highway Department was responsible for this historic restoration.

Dederer Stone House-Stonehurst is a historic home located at Orangetown in Rockland County, New York. It was built in 1865 and is a 2+1⁄2-story, "T" shaped dwelling constructed using regular size units of local granite with dressed sandstone trim. It features a jerkinhead roof. Also on the property is a 2-story barn and stone hitching post.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2002. All the files a paperwork for this house have not yet been digitized (all the paperwork is still sitting in a shelf somewhere).

Piermont is a village incorporated in 1847 in Rockland County, New York, United States. Piermont is in the town of Orangetown, located north of the hamlet of Palisades, east of Sparkill, and south of Grand View-on-Hudson, on the west bank of the Hudson River. The population was 2,510 at the 2010 census. Woody Allen set The Purple Rose of Cairo, a fictional film within The Purple Rose of Cairo (1984) in Piermont. The village's name, in earlier years known as Tappan Landing, was given by Dr. Eleazar Lord, author, educator, deacon of the First Protestant Dutch Church and first president of the Erie Railroad. It was derived by combining a local natural feature – Tallman Mountain – and the most prominent man-made feature of the village – the long Erie Railroad pier.

Piermont Railroad Station is a historic train station located at Piermont in Rockland County, New York. It was built about 1873 by the Northern Railroad of New Jersey, later acquired by the Erie Railroad. It is a 1+1⁄2-story, light frame building above a stone foundation. It features Stick Style exterior siding and a Late Victorian interior.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2008.The station is owned by the Village of Piermont. It is maintained by the Piermont Historical Society which has raised funds for and completed a structural and exterior restoration. The restoration included replacing the missing cupola and roof support timbers. Exterior paint colors were selected based on a period newspaper article describing the then new station. Interior renovations are underway. The station is open to the public on selected dates. An earlier station at Piermont, no longer in existence, was located on the Piermont Branch, which was originally the main line of the New York and Erie Railroad opened in 1841. It was located on the east side of Piermont Avenue about 200 feet (61 m) north of Paradise Avenue. As early as 1868 it had only one passenger train a day in each direction. The opening of Pavonia Terminal in Jersey City, New Jersey, constructed from 1886 to 1889, diverted most of the Erie Railroad traffic southward. By 1892 the Piermont station was for freight only. The 1916 station list does not show it at all.Passenger service ended on December 14, 1965 when the Erie Lackawanna Railroad truncated service from Nyack to Sparkill. The railway's right-of-way has been converted into the Old Erie Path multi-use rail trail.

Christ Church, also known as Christ Episcopal Church, is a historic Episcopal church located at Sparkill in Rockland County, New York. It was designed by architect Charles Babcock (1829–1913) and built in 1864–1865. It is a Gothic Revival style bluestone rubble church. The stone transepts and bell tower were added in 1892, and the stone entrance porch was added around 1900. It has a steeply pitched gable roof and Gothic arched openings. Also on the property is the contributing parish house (c. 1870, c. 1900-1910) and gatepost.: 3, 7 It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2011.

Hopson-Swan Estate is a national historic district and estate located at Sparkill in Rockland County, New York. It encompasses three contributing buildings and one contributing structure. The district is located within the boundaries of Tallman Mountain State Park and was acquired by the Palisades Interstate Park Commission in 1947. The estate was developed between about 1850 and 1920. The house is a 1+1⁄2-story frame house on a stone foundation. It was constructed in three phases: about 1850, expanded and restyled in 1869, and also about 1920. Also on the property is a cast iron gazebo and two small carriage houses.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1992.

Sparkill, formerly known as Tappan Sloat, is a suburban hamlet and census-designated place in the Town of Orangetown, Rockland County, New York, United States located north of Palisades; east of Tappan; south of Piermont and west of the Hudson River. As of the 2010 census, the CDP had a population of 1,565. The hamlet is home to St. Thomas Aquinas College and the Dominican Sisters of Sparkill.
