Duomo (Naples Metro)

Pendino is one of the 30 quartieri of Naples, southern Italy.It covers an area of 0.63 km2 and in 2009 had a population of 15,588 inhabitants.The neighbourhood is part of the historical city centre (Centro historico), including the Palazzo Como, that houses the Filangieri Civic Museum, on the main north–south street in the area, Via Duomo (the street on which Naples Cathedral is located). The area was one of the most heavily affected by the risanamento, the massive demolitions of the urban renewal of Naples on either side of the year 1900, including the dismantling and repositioning of the aforementioned museum and the very construction of the street, Via Duomo, itself, to provide a main traffic artery to connect the northern side of Naples with the port area.

The Museo Civico Filangieri ("Filangieri civic museum") is an eclectic collection of artworks, coins, and books assembled in the nineteenth century by Gaetano Filangieri, prince of Satriano, who gave it to the city of Naples as a museum. It is housed in his former palace, Palazzo Cuomo (or Como) on Via Duomo, by the church of San Severo al Pendino.

San Giovanni a Mare (Italian: [ˈsan dʒoˈvanni a mˈmaːre] St. John at Sea) is a church in Naples, Italy; located near the docks, not far from the church of Sant'Eligio Maggiore. The Romanesque church was erected by Benedictine monks before the 12th century. By the 13th century, the church was attached to a hostel of the knightly order of Gerosolimitani ("Knights Hospitaller"). For some time, the church too belonged to the knights. The hostel was closed by Napoleonic forces, but was returned to the Church in 1828. The church building has been recently restored. Interior columns are spolia. Arabic and Byzantine influences can be seen in some of the apse columns. Other arches in the dome recall architecture of Amalfi.

San Severo al Pendino is a former Roman Catholic church, located on Via Duomo, just south of San Giorgio Maggiore and adjacent to the Museo Civico Gaetano Filangieri, in central Naples, Italy.

Sant Agostino alla Zecca, also known as Sant'Agostino Maggiore is a church in central Naples, Italy. Originally granted to the Augustinian monks by Robert I of Anjou in 1259. The church underwent extensive reconstruction in the Baroque period by Bartolomeo Picchiati. Its name derives from its location near the former mint. Since the 1980 Irpinia earthquake, it has been closed and is in a poor state of conservation. The interior has frescoes of Giacinto Diano in the Sacristy.

The Fontana della Sellaria or Selleria is a Baroque public fountain on piazzetta del Grande Archivio in Naples, Italy. It was commissioned in 1649 from Onofrio Antonio Gisolfi by Íñigo Vélez de Guevara to commemorate the latter's suppression of the Neapolitan Republic.

San Giorgio Maggiore is a basilica church located on the corner of Via vicaria Vecchia and Via Duomo, in central Naples, Italy. The apse of the church lies diagonally across the street from San Severo al Pendino. A church at the site was built by the 4th century, and was initially known as "la severiana", after the bishop San Severo of Naples. The present name dates to the 9th century, and is dedicated to a martyred warrior in the battles against the Lombards. In 1640, a fire destroyed part of the church, and reconstruction followed plans by Cosimo Fanzago, who inverted the orientation. The present church's entrance is the former apse of the primitive church. After 1694, it was rebuilt after an earthquake. Cosimo Fanzago transferred into this church some of the granite columns from the nearby church of Santa Maria degli Angeli alle Croci. During the 18th century Risanamiento, when certain streets in Naples were being widened, the nave on the right side of the church was eliminated to widen Via Duomo. Near the lateral door of the church is the marble seat, constructed from spolia, of St Severus, founder of the church. In the left of main altar of the church are frescoes painted by a young Solimena. The church also holds a painting in Byzantine style, a wooden crucifix from the 13th century, and the relics of St Severus. The church has canvases by Camillo Lionti and Francesco Peresi.

Sant'Eligio dei Chiavettieri (once known as Santa Maria ad Ercole) is a Roman Catholic church in Naples, Italy, located at the intersection of via Cesare Sersale and vicoletto Chiavettieri al Pendino.

Sant’Eligio Maggiore is a church in Naples, southern Italy. It is located near Piazza Mercato (Market Square), and was built during the reign of Charles of Anjou by the same congregation that built the nearby Sant’Eligio hospital in 1270. It is the first church built in Naples by the Angevin dynasty and therefore the first one in Gotico Angioiano style. The arched passageway that opens onto Piazza Mercato is through the original façade of the church and has since been incorporated into the structure of the ancient hospital. Many of the lines of the original structure came to light in the course of restoration after the bombardments of the World War II.

The State Archives of Naples (Italian: Archivio di Stato di Napoli), with its more than 50,000 linear meters of book and document shelving, is of fundamental importance for the history of southern Italy from the 10th century to today. The archives are housed in the cloisters of the Church of Saints Severino and Sossio.

Sant'Agrippino a Forcella is a church located on Via Forcella in Naples, Italy. A church at the site may have been present since the fifth century, but we have documentation of a consecration during the papacy of pope Clement IV in 1265-1268. The church retains some Gothic architecture details in the apse, but the remainder of the church demonstrates the Baroque reconstructions (1758) by Nicola Tagliacozzi Canale. The exterior 14th century portal was designed by the Pisan Antonio di Chelino, pupil of Donatello.

Santa Maria a Piazza is a former Roman Catholic church, located at Piazzetta Forcella (Via Forcella) in central Naples, region of Campania, Italy. Despite being among the oldest churches in Naples, according to tradition first erected by Emperor Constantine in the 4th century, the church is in ruinous state. Documentation of the church dates to the 9th century, and a bell-tower, present until 1924, dated to the 10th century. The interior once housed wooden crucifixes from the nearby church of Sant'Agrippino a Forcella, but the interior 17th-century canvases depicting the Holy Family and the Nativity are lost. The sepulchral plaque of the Duke of Naples Buono from the 9th century has been transferred to the Cathedral.
