Avedøre Power Station

Avedøre Holme Offshore Wind Farm is a nearshore wind farm right off the coast of Avedøre, Copenhagen. It was commissioned in 2009 with three 3.6 MW Siemens turbines as a demonstrator project for future offshore wind turbines. Ørsted owns two turbines, and a private collective owns the third. Ørsted and partners build a 2MW hydrogen electrolysis station at Avedøre Power Station supplied by Ørsted's two turbines.

Friheden (meaning The Freedom in English) is a suburb in Hvidovre municipality, located 8 km south-east from central Copenhagen. The area is a working-class suburb and most activity takes place around the Friheden S-Train station, where a shopping mall also is placed. Two S-train stations: Friheden and Åmarken exist in Friheden.

Hvidovre Stadium (Danish: Hvidovre Stadion) is an athletics- and association football stadium located in Hvidovre, south west of Copenhagen, Denmark, that is owned and operated by Hvidovre Municipality. It is currently used mostly for association football matches and is the home stadium of Hvidovre IF (association football and handball), Hvidovre AM (athletics) and previously Hvidovre Stars (american football). The exhibition field has a lighting installation with a light intensity of 1000 lux, undersoil heating and have been approved for televised matches in the Danish Superliga. The stadium is part of a sports complex, that covers an area of 72,000 m² and also consists of four association football fields, outdoor athletic facilities, a hall for indoor athletics, a hall with two indoor tennis courts, five outdoor tennis courts, a fitness center, a cafeteria including rooms for club members and meetings. Since 1 July 2019, the stadium's main exhibition field has been referred to as Pro Ventilation Arena for sponsorship reasons after having previously been known under the names Office Center Arena (2010–2012) and Kæmpernes Arena (2012–2019). One senior women's national team friendly match have been staged at the arena in 1979, while at least 14 Under-21, Under-19, Under-18, Under-17, Under-16 men's national team matches have been held there between 1964 and 2011.

Åmarken station is a commuter rail railway station serving the southern part of the suburb of Hvidovre west of Copenhagen, Denmark. It is located on the Køge radial of Copenhagen's S-train network.

Avedørelejren is a former military base in Avedøre, Hvidovre Municipality, some 10 km west of Copenhagen, Denmark. It has now been converted into a mixed-use development. It is home to Filmbyen and the Circus Museum.

Harrestrup Å is an approximately 20 km long stream through the western suburbs of Copenhagen, Denmark. It rises at Harrestrup Mose in Vestskoven woodland on the border between Albertslund and Ballerup and flows through Damhus Lake and several parks on its way to the Øresund at Kalvebod Beach in Valby Park.

Hvidovre Kommune is a municipality (Danish, kommune) in Region Hovedstaden near Copenhagen on the island of Zealand (Sjælland) in eastern Denmark. The municipality covers an area of 22 km2, and has a total population of 53,443 (1. January 2023). Its mayor is Anders Wolf Andresen, a member of the Green Left (Socialistisk Folkeparti) political party. The main town and the site of its municipal council is the town of Hvidovre. Other towns in the municipality are Avedøre and Friheden. Neighboring municipalities are Copenhagen to the east, Rødovre to the north, and Brøndby to the west. Part of its eastern border are the waters of Kalveboderne, and to the south is Køge Bay (Køge Bugt). The southernmost section of the municipality, known as Avedøre Holme, juts out into Køge Bay and forms part of the entryway into Kalveboderne, the waters of which separate the island of Zealand from neighboring Amager. Avedøre Holme houses two harbours.
