Avedøre is a south-western suburb of Copenhagen located in Hvidovre Municipality.

The Avedøre Power Station (Danish: Avedøreværket) is a combined heat and power station, located in Avedøre, Denmark, just south of Copenhagen, and is owned by Ørsted A/S. Avedøre Power Plant is a high-technology facility and one of the world's most efficient of its kind, being able to utilize as much as 94% of the energy in the fuel and convert 49% of the fuel energy into electricity. Apart from using petroleum (oil) and natural gas, the plant runs on a wide variety of biomass fuels such as straw and wood pellets. The plant consists of two units with a total capacity of 793 MW of electricity and 918 MW of heat. The combination of producing electricity (combined heat and power) and heat for district heating at the same time is widely used in Denmark and the rest of Scandinavia, due to the need of domestic (and industrial) heating together with the Danish energy companies putting a big effort into optimising the energy plants. The Avedøre Power Station was designed by the architects Claus Bjarrum and Jørgen Hauxner.

Avedørelejren is a former military base in Avedøre, Hvidovre Municipality, some 10 km west of Copenhagen, Denmark. It has now been converted into a mixed-use development. It is home to Filmbyen and the Circus Museum.

Friheden (meaning The Freedom in English) is a suburb in Hvidovre municipality, located 8 km south-east from central Copenhagen. The area is a working-class suburb and most activity takes place around the Friheden S-Train station, where a shopping mall also is placed. Hvidovre Stadium (Danish: Hvidovre Stadion) is an athletics- and association football stadium located in Hvidovre, south west of Copenhagen, Denmark, that is owned and operated by Hvidovre Municipality. It is currently used mostly for association football matches and is the home stadium of Hvidovre IF (association football and handball), Hvidovre AM (athletics) and previously Hvidovre Stars (american football). The exhibition field has a lighting installation with a light intensity of 1000 lux, undersoil heating and have been approved for televised matches in the Danish Superliga. The stadium is part of a sports complex, that covers an area of 72,000 m² and also consists of four association football fields, outdoor athletic facilities, a hall for indoor athletics, a hall with two indoor tennis courts, five outdoor tennis courts, a fitness center, a cafeteria including rooms for club members and meetings. Since 1 July 2019, the stadium's main exhibition field has been referred to as Pro Ventilation Arena for sponsorship reasons after having previously been known under the names Office Center Arena (2010–2012) and Kæmpernes Arena (2012–2019). One senior women's national team friendly match have been staged at the arena in 1979, while at least 14 Under-21, Under-19, Under-18, Under-17, Under-16 men's national team matches have been held there between 1964 and 2011.

Svanholm Park is a cricket ground in Brøndby, Denmark. The ground was constructed following the need for Svanholm Cricket Klub to move from their ground next to the Brøndby Stadium due to Brøndby IF needing to build a new stand which would have encroached on the ground. Svanholm Park was constructed by 1999 and contains three cricket grounds. The grounds overlap one another, so when the centre ground is in use, neither of the grounds flanking it can be used. The grounds facilities also include a purpose built pavilion and indoor practice facilities. Th ground first saw action when Denmark played Pakistan Emerging Players in 1999. Later, a single List A match was held there in the 2005 Cheltenham & Gloucester Trophy when Denmark played Northamptonshire. Denmark suffered a heavy defeat in this match. Batting first, they were dismissed for just 56, with Northamptonshire's Charl Pietersen taking figures of 7/10 from 8 overs. In reply, Northamptonshire knocked off the winning runs with just two wickets lost. This was the first major men's match to be played in Denmark. The national teams of the Netherlands, Bermuda, Finland and Norway have also played international matches at the ground. The ground hosted official Twenty20 International matches for the first time in July 2019, when Finland toured for a two-match series, which Denmark won 2–0.

Hvidovre is the main town in Hvidovre Municipality, Denmark. The town, a suburb of Copenhagen, is about 10 km southwest of the capital's center. It is the 2nd biggest suburb of Copenhagen, only beaten by Frederiksberg.

Hvidovre Hospital is a hospital in Hvidovre near Copenhagen in Denmark. It is administered by the Capital Region of Denmark. The hospital was built from 1968 to 1979 and was officially opened on March 26, 1976. The hospital stands out for not being built high - the four main building are just three stories, whereas the building spans over 300,000 square meters. Hvidovre Hospital is one of Denmark's largest with more than 40,000 patients admitted each year. It has 35 departments, including Denmark's largest delivery ward with more than 5,500 deliveries a year. The hospital is a teaching hospital for medical students from Copenhagen University.
