The Antelope Valley Indian Museum State Historic Park is a state historic park of California, United States, interpreting Native American cultures of the Great Basin and surrounding regions. The park and its grounds are situated on the Antelope Valley's rural east side in northern Los Angeles County, California. The museum contains the combined collections of H. Arden Edwards and subsequent owner and anthropology student Grace Oliver. The exhibits represent and interpret Native Americans groups, both aboriginal and contemporary, of the Southwest, Great Basin, and Californian cultural regions. A number of the artifacts on display are rare or one-of-a-kind items. The museum was originally constructed by homesteader/artist H. Arden Edwards in 1928. The chalet-style structure was built over the rock formation of Piute Butte in the Mojave Desert. The unusual folk art structure, originally used as a home, is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Lake Los Angeles is a census-designated place (CDP) in Los Angeles County, California, United States. The population was 13,187 at the 2020 census, up from 12,328 at the 2010 census. It is located 17 miles (27 km) east of Palmdale's Civic Center. According to the Greater Antelope Valley Economic Alliance report of 2009, the Palmdale / Lancaster urban area has a population of 483,998, of which Lake Los Angeles is a part.

Wilsona was a (tiny and remote) 20th-century settlement in the Antelope Valley section of Los Angeles County, California. It lay in the vicinity of Big Rock Wash, at an elevation of 2726 feet (831 m) in the far northeastern corner of the county, the near the border junction of Los Angeles, Kern, and San Bernardino Counties. Wilsona had a post office beginning in 1916 between the Llano and Gray Mountain post offices. Circa 1929, Valyermo, Llano, Wilsona, Neenach, Domino, and Muroc, were all described as "post offices that serve scattered ranches. All these communities are reached by automobile, and roads lead from the [Antelope Valley] to desert towns lying to the north and east." A 1939 guide to Los Angeles County stated "Antelope Valley has many small communities, among which are Acton, Littlerock, Fairmont, Vincent, Harold, Pearblossom, Llano, Valyermo, Wilsona, Hi Vista, Tierra Bonita, Roosevelt, Redman, Del Sur, Esperanza, Rogers, Lake Hughes, Neenach, Sandberg, and Gorman. Most of these are trading centers for populations, most of which are active either in mining or agricultural pursuits." There was a Wilsona Road between Lancaster and Victorville–Adelanto. In the 1910s and 1920s the population of Wilsona supported a branch of the Los Angeles County Free Library in Wilsona at the Wilsona school. According to a history published 1927, the Wilsona branch "started September, 1915, in the tent house of a homesteader. In 1917 it was moved to the schoolhouse. In all, 1,729 books have been sent and 272 are now in stock. There are 66 registered borrowers. There was still a Miss Wilsona competing in the Miss Antelope Valley pageant as of 1958.

Hi Vista (or Hi-Vista) is an unincorporated community in northeastern Los Angeles County, California, United States.

The Three Sisters is a small mountain range found in the Mojave Desert, in Los Angeles County, California. It consists of three main hills of varying sizes, with the smallest to the southwest having a height above surrounding land of 150 feet (46 m), the second 180 feet (55 m), and the third and largest to the northeast having a height of 290 feet (88 m). They three main hills are the highly eroded remnants of what used to be the peaks of the northern San Gabriel Mountains, before recent sediment filled the area.

Llano del Rio was a commune (or "colony") located in what is now Llano, California, east of Palmdale in the Antelope Valley, Los Angeles County. The colony was devised by lawyer and socialist politician Job Harriman after he had failed in his bid to become the mayor of Los Angeles in 1911. The colony's land was acquired in 1913 and it was formally launched on May 1, 1914. The Llano del Rio Colony settled in the southern edge of the Mojave Desert along what is now Highway 138 near what is now 165th Street East, in the alluvial plain spreading to the north from the San Gabriel Mountains. The colony took advantage of water from Big Rock Creek, an intermittent stream that flows from the San Gabriel Mountains. Several structures were constructed using local granite boulders and lumber, including a hotel, meeting house, and water storage tank. There was also a small open aqueduct made of granite cobbles and cement. As of 2024, remnants of the structures are still visible at the site. The site was abandoned in 1918. Llano del Rio turned out to be too far from other settlements to develop a sustaining economy, and the water supply from Big Rock Creek proved to be unreliable. Some of the settlers, approximately 60 families in all, relocated to form New Llano, Louisiana.

Littlerock High School is a public, co-educational high school built in 1989. It is located in Littlerock, California, United States. The school serves Littlerock and the surrounding communities of Lake Los Angeles, Pearblossom, and Llano. It is part of the Antelope Valley Union High School District (AVHSD). Littlerock High School is designated as a Title I school.

Llano (Spanish for "plain") is an unincorporated community located in Los Angeles County, California, United States, near the San Bernardino County line.

Sun Village is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) in Los Angeles County, California, United States. It is in the eastern Antelope Valley at an elevation of 2,723 feet (830 m). The center of Sun Village may be considered to be Palmdale Boulevard and 87th Street East as noted at the Los Angeles County Assessors office. As of the 2010 census the population of Sun Village was 11,565, up from 9,375 at the 2000 census. Sun Village has been awarded federal, state, and county grants for the community based on this Avenue U boundary. There is a movement from the Sun Village Town Council to rebrand the area with the Sun Village name, which fell out of popularity in the early 1980s. New road signage erected around 2011 now labels Sun Village as a unique community. In 2007, the Sun Village and Littlerock town councils formed a Community Standard District together, and it was approved by the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors.On September 3, 2014, officials from Sun Village and the city of Palmdale gathered at the Palmdale City Council Chamber to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) in which Palmdale removed its sphere of influence from Sun Village.Sun Village residents, as in many other Antelope Valley communities, take part in local pageants and parades. The community operates its own local chamber of commerce and town council. Jackie Robinson County Park is a focal point in Sun Village. The Sun Village Women's Club donated the land to the county to build a park for the community. Jackie Robinson came to the park in person to dedicate it to the community. The Friends of Jackie Robinson Park have kept the dream alive by raising funds throughout the year and supporting programs and projects in the park. There are after-school programs, sports programs, homework help, music, marching and cheer leading.Composer and musician Frank Zappa played his music in Sun Village and made many friends there in the beginning of his career. He pays homage to Sun Village in the song "Village of the Sun" from the 1974 album Roxy and Elsewhere.

Antelope Center is an unincorporated community in the Antelope Valley of the western Mojave Desert, in northern Los Angeles County, California.It lies at an elevation of 2,684 ft 0 in (818 m).

Antelope Valley of the California High Desert is an American Viticultural Area (AVA) within the wedge-shaped geologic landform, Antelope Valley, straddling the border of southern Kern County and northeastern Los Angeles County, California. It was established as the nation's 198th, the states's 121st, Los Angeles County's fifth and Kern County's initial appellation on May 24, 2011 by the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB), Treasury after reviewing the petition submitted by Mr. Ralph Jens Carter, on behalf of the Antelope Valley Winegrowers Association (AVWA) proposing a viticultural area named "Antelope Valley of the California High Desert." The vast 426,000-acre (665 sq mi) viticultural area encircles the cities of Lancaster and Palmdale. Just outside its western boundary lie the previously established, diminutive Leona Valley and Sierra Pelona Valley viticultural areas. In 2007, Antelope Valley had 128 acres (52 ha) of cultivation on 16 commercial vineyards and 2 bonded wineries according to the petition, yet, there are currently four vineyards and eight wineries in the AVA according to AVWA.
