The Helen DeVos Children's Hospital (HDCH) is a nationally ranked, freestanding, 241-bed, pediatric acute care children's hospital located in downtown Grand Rapids, Michigan. It is affiliated with the Michigan State University College of Human Medicine and is a member of the Spectrum health system, the only children's hospital in the system. The hospital provides comprehensive pediatric specialties and subspecialties to infants, children, teens, and young adults aged 0–18 throughout Grand Rapids region and features an ACS verified level I pediatric trauma center. Its regional pediatric intensive-care unit and neonatal intensive care units serve the region. It is named for Helen DeVos, wife of Amway founder Richard DeVos, a major donor.

The Lemmen-Holton Cancer Pavilion is an outpatient cancer center located in the Grand Rapids Medical Mile in downtown Grand Rapids, Michigan. It was developed to bring all cancer research and patient service delivery under one roof in the Spectrum Health System, which merged with Beaumont Health in 2022 to form Corewell Health. The land for the project was purchased in 2002 with a donation from Frederik and Lena Meijer. The $78 million facility opened on June 30, 2008. It is located across the street from Butterworth Hospital on Michigan Street and is connected to it by a tunnel. Since the location is also near the Van Andel Institute, the hospital has a high rate of cancer patients on clinical trials: eight percent compared to the national rate of three percent. The Pavilion is named after two employees that worked for Meijer and advanced their way to the top of the company.

Founded in 1875 as St. Mark's Home and Hospital, begun by parishioners of St. Mark's Episcopal Church, the current Butterworth Hospital is a subsidiary of Spectrum Health. The hospital is a teaching affiliate of the Michigan State University College of Human Medicine. The emergency department is a level I trauma center for both adults and pediatrics.

Van Andel Institute (VAI) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit biomedical research and science education organization in Grand Rapids, Michigan. VAI was founded by Jay and Betty Van Andel in 1996 and comprises four divisions: Van Andel Research Institute (VARI), Van Andel Education Institute (VAEI), Van Andel Institute Graduate School (VAIGS), and Purple Community.The institute's research focuses on cancer epigenetics and Parkinson's disease. Its educational efforts support teacher development and science education from early elementary through the doctoral level. David Van Andel, son of Jay and Betty, has served as CEO and chairman of the board since 1996.

The Ford Fieldhouse is multi-purpose arena in Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA, on the campus of Grand Rapids Community College. Belknap Hill (also called Lookout Hill), is a prominent river bluff directly northeast of downtown Grand Rapids, Michigan. The hill is a distinct topographical feature when viewed from the Western approach to the downtown area. Evening romancers and view seekers throughout the history of Grand Rapids have favored its two hillside city parks. Belknap Hill holds a nostalgic place in the sentiments of Grand Rapidians in that it has long been a popular place to propose marriage. Hidden in the backwaters of the semi-isolated Belknap Lookout neighborhood atop this hill remain some of the simple nineteenth century framed homes from days when Belknap Hill bordered small farms and apple orchards. A cherished historic feature of the hill is the steeply inclined Trowbridge and North Street which are the city's Two fieldstone cobblestoned streets.

The Woodbridge N. Ferris Building is a former federal building, which now houses the Urban Institute for Contemporary Arts and classrooms and offices for the Kendall College of Art and Design, located at 17 Pearl St. NW in Grand Rapids, Michigan. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1974.

The Festival of the Arts – known locally as simply Festival, typically with the year added (e.g. "Festival 2005") – is a three-day multimedia arts festival, held in Grand Rapids, Michigan on the first Friday, Saturday, and Sunday of June. The event features live performances of music, dance, and other performing arts; displays and sales of paintings and other visual arts; art and sculpture opportunities for children; film/video and literary presentations; and a wide variety of multicultural food booths operated by local non-profit organizations. Typically involving nearly 20,000 community volunteers and over half a million visitors, according to the Library of Congress, Festival is the largest all-volunteer arts festival in the United States.
